Immortal Glutton!
Seeing what my authorities name was I became quite confused as to why I had glutton in my name. I wanted to check what power I was given but I remembered where exactly I was at the moment as well as the scene I just caused, so this would have to be put aside for right now.
When I looked at the crowd of people I started to feel slightly worried, I received the eyes of envy from a few people who I've never met in my life but a majority of the people here had a look of respect towards me for a reason I hadn't known yet. I figured it was because I showcased great potential but I wasn't exactly sure as to how the natives of this world thought about the people with high talent in something.
Suddenly, the crowd of people went from being quiet to an abrupt shout of cheers and laughter which caught me completely off guard causing me to feel slightly frightened inside. I couldn't help but think to myself "Wtf is going to happen to me" but luckily my father and mother walked up to me and walked beside me out of the room but then trouble once again appeared...
"Stop! we are messengers from the royal kingdom and Jared Armstrong IV (The King) himself would like to have a talk with your son later this evening. It is up to you if you would like for your son to attend this meeting with the king, but I recommend you do as it could leave a bad impression. Once these messengers were done with their business they quickly disappeared in front of us leaving no evidence that they were here just a second ago. I didn't know what to expect when I talked to the king later today but something inside of me told me that it was going to be something unpleasant, and all I could do was just wish for the best.
On our way back home my father spoke to me about what I should expect during my time with the king.
"Derrick" - Earl
"Yes?"-Derrick
"I want to tell you what you should expect when meeting with the king later today, I don't want you showing any signs of fear or weakness in front of him." - Earl
" So I am going to meet the king then..." -Derrick
I looked at my mother and father after saying that only to receive a nod from both of them.
"As I said before, don't show any signs of fear when talking to him. You should also expect a lot of questions and if he feels that you're worthy enough..... then he might sign you up for military combat training depending on your authorities skills. There is a war that's going to happen very soon between those of the elven race, demon, and us the humans; like in the past, land, and food was taken by others by force but due to Arthur things changed and so peace was also established. But some races are greedy, we are included and so another war will break out and may cause extinction for either the elven folk, the demons, or us the humans."- Earl
"So are you telling me that our child might have to risk his life for the safety of everyone at the age of 15!?" - Lisa
"Mom, it's ok just please calm down" -Derrick
"I feel the same way you're feeling about our son participating in this war as well but this decision isn't up to us to decide. If we want to ensure his survival we have to prepare him for what to expect in the future, that's the only way we can protect him from being killed." -Earl
"... You're right, we have to do what we can to ensure his survival but as of right now we don't know if he'll even take part in this upcoming war so I think it's better if we wait until we acquire confirmation" -Lisa
At this moment I was scared for my life and really didn't know how I should react. But then I remembered my goal, I had to avenge my other self as well as my past mother and kill my brother my own self. The fear I had just felt now disappeared from my body leaving me feeling more confident in myself.
" Everything is going to be alright Derrick, we will do our best to make sure that you won't die and we'll always be beside you to the very end." Earl
"Thanks, Dad..." - Derrick
During the midst of talking I hadn't realized we had now arrived home and there were only around 2 hours left until it was time to meet the king. I ran to my room as I knew that I needed to do a few things before I left.
The first thing I had to do was check the store that god left for me, I didn't know how exactly I was supposed to access it so I took a guess and said store inside of my head and what do you know! it actually worked. In my mind I could see the categories of the things that I could buy in the store, it looked something like this...
