"I knew Kyle treated you kindly, and I knew you guys were close, but this …" Kai said, pursing his lips, "He treats you as if you're family."
"I am," Lianne said with a smile.
Kai snorted a bit, "As a sister-in-law, no doubt."
"No," Lianne refuted him, "I may be his sister-in-law, but even before then, we were close. So close, in fact, that if I were to ask him for something, he'd give it to me."
Lianne went to the side a bit to look at him, "At least, in that regard, I am of value to the Shengs."
Kai frowned and looked displeased.
"I never tried to reconnect with him because I didn't want the Shengs to make me use him just to gain some business advantage. They never knew I knew Kyle then," Kai said, looking at her seriously, "And I'd never use you or your connection to Kyle just so that the Shengs can rise up more."
"I have never wanted - nor needed - some sort of political marriage for the Shengs," Kai told her, "All I ever wanted, and needed, is you. So you can shove that connection with Kyle to the side and never speak of it again."
Lianne face brightened up at that bold statement and she couldn't help it but kiss him in response.
Kai froze.
This was the first time she initiated a kiss.
It was a light peck, really, but who cares?
She kissed him!
Kai grinned as he held her tight and asked, "I seem to remember you saying you had fallen for me."
Lianne blinked.
Damn, he's right.
She had been so agitated and wanting to put her point across that she had inadvertently let it slip.
"I did not," Lianne denied it, her face a bit hot.
"Oh?" Kai whispered in her ear, kissing her earlobe, "I seem to remember someone saying .. what was it again? Something something … before I fall more for you…"
Lianne moved her head away to escape the sinful lips, her lips pressed closed together.
"What? You mean to say, the fact that I cooked for you … twice … didn't give you a hint?" Lianne said with a little pout.
"How am I supposed to know?" Kai said, "I thought you were just being nice. I mean, you even gave Zayn some of your cooking!"
"I was being nice to Zayn, and he just got the extras of what I had already cooked. For you," Lianne pointed out.
Kai thought about it but he was still jealous over the fact that Zayn got to taste her cooking.
She made it for him.
HIM.
He snorted and buried his face in the crook of her neck.
"I may not say the words," Lianne said softly, rubbing her arms, "But I hope you can see it from my actions."
Kai mumbled something and his breath tickled her neck. She shivered at that, as goosebumps began forming along her arms.
"Kai, stop that," Lianne hissed at him, hitting his arm that was around her waist, "It's ticklish."
In response, Kai started kissing then sucking on the spot instead.
"KAI!" Lianne shouted through gritted teeth. She pinched the back of his hand, causing him to wince but he didn't let go until he was satisfied he made his mark.
"It's not in an obvious place this time," Kai said softly as he kissed the back of her ear.
"That's not the point here," Lianne said, turning to glare at him, "You -"
Kai sealed her lips with a kiss, as he sucked, nibbled and kissed her lips over and over again.
"I love you," Kai said breathlessly against her lips when he finally let her go.
Lianne pouted and turned away from him.
He just smiled and hugged her tightly.
What was she going to do with this man?
He basically wore his heart on his sleeve and was so clingy.
She bit her inner cheeks.
The problem was, she *liked* that about him.
Seeing how open he was about his love for her made her feel reassured, and the way he liked every single thing she did calmed the worry in her heart.
It was as if he was made for her - Asperger and all.
She started playing with his fingers, as her mind wandered.
When he's with her like this, her fears and insecurities were locked away. She sighed, thinking that her life was certainly going down a route that she never envisioned for herself.
She subconsciously leaned against Kai more, showing her trust in him as she said, "You're really incorrigible, you know that?"
"Only when it comes to you, sayang," Kai said softly, his eyes closed as he began kissing on the other side of her neck.
Lianne placed her hand on his forehead, the base of the palm directly where the bones were on his forehead and pushed.
"Behave," Lianne said, then pinched his nose.
He wriggled his nose, feeling the pinch and replied, "I find out I'm rather the jealous type."
"What? No!" Lianne said while rolling her eyes though he couldn't see it. He could sense her sarcasm dripping though.
"So I tend to be more expressive of my posessiveness," Kai whispered close to her ear.
Lianne somehow managed to flick his forehead and she said seriously, "We haven't finished talking yet."
"Ah," Kai replied, kissing her ear gently before leaning back again - and before she could flick his forehead again.
"What else do you want to know?" he asked, putting his cheek on her shoulder.
At this angle, he could see the side of her face and how flushed her face was. He smiled, thinking that she was just so adorable.
"Everything, about the women in your life," Lianne said, "Not your mother, but the women you seduced and what exactly happened."
Kai gulped.
"Especially about how you got kisses stolen from you," Lianne finished.
Kai groaned and closed his eyes.
Welp. This was going to be a fun talk.

"First of all, I never did anything with them," Kai began, after thinking hard, "Well, other than saying a few compliments, or flirting with them. I never initiated any touching though."
"But they did touch you," Lianne said as a matter-of-factly, "Hugging, cheek-to-cheek, and maybe … even touching you in inappropriate places?"
Kai coughed a bit at that.
Why does his Angel have to be so brutal in her questions?
"It meant nothing," Kai said softly, "The end justifies the means."
Lianne smiled to herself and patted Kai's hand, saying, "I'm just asking. What happened, was in the past and before we met. I don't care about that. I just wanted to know because any of these women could come up to me later on with all sorts of stories."
"Why would they?" Kai asked curiously.
Lianne rolled her eyes, "Kai, seriously? You can charm women to do your bidding, but don't you know the other side to that? Such women can be very possessive as well."
"But they haven't done anything? I mean, it's not like I'm with them, but we aren't exactly enemies either," Kai said.
"That's because you're with no one exclusively," Lianne explained, "Each of them would be thinking that it's fine and you're everyone's property. But the moment you hook up with someone, they'll start feeling it could be them."
"And so," Lianne continued, "They'll do anything to drive a wedge between us. If it's someone the Sheng's chose, then it's not an issue. But me? A nobody? That you picked up from the airport? Nuh-uh. All Hell will break loose."
"They can try," Kai hissed, hugging her tightly, "I won't let anything happen to you. No one can touch you."
"And how long can that be for? You want to stop anyone from talking to me? Meeting me? What sort of life would that be?" Lianne asked, "Heck, I love being by myself and not having to mingle but there is a difference between me choosing not to mingle and me not being able to mingle."
"So, talk," Lianne said, "Start with the ones who kissed you, then go down the line. Just the main ones for now and you can give me a detailed report on all the women and what you had done with them."
Kai felt the sweat start to form.
He had homework now?!
