"If you want to meet her, you need to accept her for all that she is," Lianne said, "Can you do that?"
Lianne got up then and went over to Zero. She patted his shoulder and said with a sigh, "Think about it. You know what Kyle always says."
Zero looked up at her.
"Whatever choice you make, make sure it's without regrets," Lianne said, paraphrasing it a bit.
One can never know, at that point, which is the 'right' choice. You need to be brutally honest with yourself and make an informed decision. After that, no matter what, you can't regret it.
You can learn from it, but not regret it.
Regret means you wish you had chosen the other path because what you chose did not turn out well - but if that had been the best choice then, how would you have chosen otherwise?
All are on the premise that you truly did think properly about it and not act on emotions or ego, of course.
