Lianne listened carefully while observing the Queen's facial expressions and body movements.
It wasn't that Lianne was trying to be difficult … well, okay, she was; but there was a reason for that.
Though Zero may say he didn't care, and that he truly did not want to meet his mother, Lianne knew that it was far from the truth.
It was almost like her, and how she felt about Kai in the start.
Though she had been attracted to him, it was that same attraction that caused her to want to run away from him. She had been terrified of what Kai represented and she did not want to face that.
She did not want to open up her heart and make herself vulnerable; she did not want to deal with any problematic thing that would arise from being with him; she did not want to take the risk of placing her heart in his hands.
It was the same with Zero.
