Kai gave a big smile as he wrapped his arm around Lianne's waist, saying, "I wanted to make sure she couldn't run away. And for all you know, you could be welcoming your great-grandchild.."
"Kai!" Lianne hissed, hitting him on the arm.
"What?" he said innocently, "I've certainly worked hard for the past couple of months."
Lianne's face went a deep shade of red.
"Well, I'm not," she said, turning her red face away.
Kai shrugged, "Maybe, maybe not. If you didn't realise yet, sayang, you're late. Very. And even if you're not, it doesn't matter because…"
"I'm irregular, you know that," Lianne said, cutting him off. She even wondered why the heck her husband knew her cycle better than she did.
