Despite being puzzled, Madeline still followed Reimonna obediently. Once she sat down, she asked Reimonna directly, "Aren't we waiting for Kai?"
Madeline knew that mealtimes were family times. Furthermore, each mealtime had a specific time for it to be served and they were set as the 'ideal' time.
Breakfast is at 7.30am, lunch time is 12.30pm and dinner is at 6pm, or 3 hours before sleep. After each meal, one is to rest and then take a walk or do light exercises.
Everything was like clockwork.
Reimonna shook her head upon hearing Madeline's question and said, "He'll be down in a while. He is a bit busy at the moment."
"Oh," Madeline said, wondering what it could be.
When they were growing up, Kai was never late for meals and Madeline often used it as an excuse to be able to be with him. So no matter what he did to avoid her, he would eventually have to sit down next to her during meal times.
