When Zayn put down the phone, he couldn't help but frown.
This was one part of the whole plan that he didn't like.
It was bad enough that Lianne was with Kai, but if she was to be seduced away and later dumped, then the blow would be worse on her. She was the innocent one in this and being played like that rubbed him the wrong way.
Zayn was loyal to Kai only as far as it involved the company. Kai was a Sheng, so all the intrigues and plays were just part and parcel of his life, and Zayn did not really feel any guilt for the things he did.
He wasn't Kai's friend, after all.
A subordinate at the most.
The more he thought of what he was doing, the more unsettled he felt.
Why?
He never felt this way when he helped Celine enter Kai's office. Even if Lianne would be collateral damage in that situation, she was not 'hit' directly.
This time, however, it would be more direct.
Her feelings would be played.
