The incident happened that eventful day has led to new discoveries that if Elsa were given substantial amount of blood, if not the bodily organs itself, when taken too much than normally devoured can supress the demon inside the child's body which causes ultimate changes in physical and mental appearances that somewhat seemed like the girl is a normal human being with too ordinary capabilities. The frosty atmosphere has vanished, the hostile aura has disappeared as if all these gothic tragedies has not happened at all. No traces of impulsive desire to slay another human being can be detected as her eyes convey submission, innocence, and friendliness. The icy blue color of the eyes that they never seen before has clearly replaced the murderous blackness of the sclera, the feeling when you're entrapped with fear as the willingness of the body to move has abandoned the entrapped. The newness of the situation calmed the royalties slightly, if not in a full convincing way. Seeing the princess playing with her younger sister brought the royal parents to a new wave of sensation, a wave of pure awe that they have never felt in all of their parenthood. The feeling of the lack of fear seems foreign realizing that they have endured years and years of fear, fright, and severe form of anxiety. Twas a memorable sight to see that the two offspring can interact normally like any normal children would as the tendency to switch back to the evil form is deeply suppressed for who knows how long. One could forget a horrendous scene not long ago if they could see these two children giggling inside the moving carriage if not for the stained dress hidden carefully at the back of the carriage.
The neighbouring kingdom can be seen at last. The king, looking at his daughters humming peacefully in peace, has let his guard down knowing Elsa would not be switching back to her old self any time soon. Having heavy responsibilities in the kingdom cannot be compared to the burden accompanied by the responsibility his eldest daughter brought to his prestigious easy-go-lucky life. Has his wife regretted bringing the child back to life that has potentially ruined their ideal vision of what a family is supposed to be without the mixture of anguish, pain, and torture on anyone's part? By the looks of her, she did paid the price and now has regretted with all the life she had and will carry the burden in her future life to come. Why has she chosen to put her life on the line and raise a dead child with a cursed flower thought only to be a myth in the books when she can bear twenty more children if not a hundred. He looked at the queen if front of him but this time not in a dreamy kind of way. Her radiance has long been gone and wrinkles had crept on to her. A permanent frown has replaced the once seductive smile and a mannered sigh full of regrets had replaced the infectious laughter that he knows will never be heard again. If not for her royal bloodline, she is not as witty and smart like the one he truly admired in a the sense of intellectual capacity before he has chosen the royally inclined woman for advantage in wealth, the extension of power and dominance, and truce to the neighbouring kingdom from where the queen's dominant family reigns that can potentially invade his territory and subdue him if not for a strategical plan of wedlock. Luckily, the queen is prettier and appealing that he does not have to compel himself in marrying someone out of political agenda. Leaving Annelise is devastating but is for the good of his ego.
Annelise was a commoner, a daughter of his family's faithful servant who became the latest victim of his daughter not long ago. She was the wisest and most practical that he made her his personal advisor in the good of the kingdom. But her witty character has led her to the king's bed chamber a decade ago as his concubine where she madly fell in love with him as he continuously promises her to be the queen which he has always known would be impossible but for the ambitious maiden, a dream come true. His romances with her was great but when he brought the future wife to bed, his interest to his advisor has spontaneously reduced to only wanting her only twice a week when she had served in his bed as often as he needed.
Acknowledging that the princess and the future queen was ten years younger than her and half the king's age was indeed a slap to her when reality finally sinks in. The king only wanted her youth when he introduced her to the bed years ago but her not getting any younger and not a royal herself has maddened the remaining sanity that was left of her after jealousy took a part of her reasoning. But no good luck really happens to a vengeful servant when her enemy is from a dominant family with all the power and influence in the scope of the kingdom. A lowly class would not stand a chance but odds be on her favor as she plans to put poison in the youthful princess' plate to eradicate a royal pest that seemingly is comfortable sneaking to the king's chamber every chance that she gets when her royal parents visit to organize the upcoming wedding. But her plans was not put into action when the future queen found her on top of the king naked the night before she thought the royals from the next kingdom would arrive in the morning to continue with their plans for the truce. She died naked with a sharp blade on her throat.
A soft giggle coming from Elsa has snapped the king back to reality from his past memories. He has gazed outside the window for too long that he had gained his wife's curious look. He smiled at her and reached her hands to kiss each one. "you are as lovely as ever."
The queen, obviously relieved from the traumatizing event, smiled softly. "what have you been thinking, my King?"
The king swallowed, "Well, all of these have been new to me. These feeling which I thought I would never experience again. The relief. The overwhelming emotion of seeing a softer version of Elsa's eyes. I can't really explain how these has put me to cloud nine."
The queen released her mahogany eyes from her husband and fell on to the happy child she once viewed as hopeless. As she appreciates the color of Elsa's eyes, she dreamily wished their situation would stay like this longer than she hoped. She sighed deeply. "Same to me. This new feeling is foreign to me. Never really have known the true meaning of serenity until now." As she reached to straighten Anna's crooked hair, Elsa peeked at her from Anna's head and smiled a very beautiful smile. As any mother, the queen's heart melted and she took away the tears that is starting to fall from her eyes. "I am so ecstatic to learn that there is a chance for her soul to change. Even if this change is just temporary, I would trade all the wealth I personally have just to be in this tranquil moment again."
"True." The king paused and absorb all these harmonious moment so his brain would transcribe this piece of emotion and engrave it deep to his memory so he has something to reminisce if this situation will not happen again. "But why is it that all these times, this newly appeared situation has happened? why now?"
"why not now? Because she is developing her mental maturity. That is." Her highness focuses her eyes back at her royal husband who is double her age. She observed that the king remained exactly as she remembered six years ago when they have first met. His hair is not receding at all compared to her cousin whom they shall visit for his third marriage to his own distant relative after only two years he wedded the sister.
"She will start her education if she continues to remain exactly as she is at this time. Her manners and etiquette are delayed a couple of years now and her behaviour is unacceptable in our norm." The king stated the fact. Though the little beast is definitely an eye sore, she still can't evade the responsibility of a royal in the period of her lucidity. "Maybe it is due to her age.." The king suddenly looked at the queen. "Maybe it is due to her attachment with the nurse that changed her aggressiveness to.."
"Stop!" The queen raised her voice in disbelief. "It's ludicrous to even think that her attachment to the nurse would cause her to lose all the demons that the gods has cursed her." She released her thoughts with an obvious anger. "Are you saying that if she eats me, her mother, her most attached person and a relative, the gods will release her from her devilish form of nature?"
"I don't know. It's something in my head that I can't subside honestly. It's like a gut feeling. An instinct." His highness gazed outside. "I really don't know. All those prisoners, all those servants she had attacked inside our home castle, she barely knew them. There is no emotional attachment. This is her first time to attack someone after she has eaten her share. But what astonish me most is that there is no flesh involved in the incident of the nurse. Elsa only drank a few of her blood. There might be something to the blood of the person this child has an attachment with." He looked at the child now giggling with her younger sister as they tickle each other.
"Emotional trigger, is that what you are trying to say?" The frown deepened as the queen shook her head. She put her hands to her head as a support as she placed her elbow to the edge of the window. "I won't buy that thought. I won't."
"We can't really put it aside, can we? There is always a possibility in every thing. Though we shunt it so we could be comforted by our own thoughts. But we can't totally ignore the deeming reality just because it's unknown to us." The king remained poised. At this time, if any subordinate would still disagree after he has made his point, he would show them his dominance and remind them of who they are talking to. But, this is the queen he is addressing to. He has deep respect to the fair woman who was raised to fit his type of wife. Though her beauty didn't age gracefully with incomparable threat she had created, she is always a woman of great value for she has brought great fortune to his flourishing kingdom after he married her. She is a royal after all. Her beauty is still apparent and with two children, she is still youthful that she could still carry his seed and bear him multiple children.
"I must say you have a basis. But I can't imagine how you can think like that for your own daughter." Queen Iduna snapped.
"I can't imagine how you chose to be blinded after all that has happened. I am the one who deal with the aftermath after all, not you. What is there that you don't understand about.." He looked at his daughter so he would be assured she is not eavesdropping, "your daughter who is a perfect fit in the definition of a monster?" The king raised his right eyebrow but refused to level his temper with his wife. He knew his words have escalated the tension.
"How dare you!" Her highness tried to control her voice.
"No, how dare you not thinking on the welfare of your own fellowmen. You are the queen, you should have thought of that." The king leaned towards her with elbows placed on his knee and hands to support his chin. This stance is known for dominance that the king is implying.
"I am the queen.." She controlled her shivering voice as emotions got the best of her, "but I'm also a mother!" A tear ran past her cheek but she abruptly brushed it away. "If you think more on the welfare of your fellowmen, I think more on the welfare of my own children! What is it that you don't understand?"
"But you still cannot erase the fact that she's a monster." He glanced again at the child, "No mother could ever hide that from the people who has witnessed a gruesome scene. Even I cannot be blinded by that. Those people are innocent" The king pushed through the queen's limit.
"That's why we feed her the prisoners! Those are a sore in the society! They wreck havoc to the peace of the kingdom." The queen continues to challenge her king while controlling a surge of emotion.
"They are prisoners alright, but they still have the right to freedom depending on the severity of their crimes. Look at what we are doing! We sealed their fate to doom because we have a hungry mouth to feed! They have families, it looks like their family is sacrificing their naughty member for our own family. A sacrificial sheep! And you know most of the times they do crimes just to soothe hungry stomachs of their own family. Only an act of thievery but were put on death sentences they never knew about, promised to be freed, lied to, and before they know it they are dinner for our daughter. This is preposterous!" King Agnarr is starting to lose his temper.
"Why do I feel like you are saying that I am wrong at being a mother? Yes, I cannot deny I'm also a queen but if I were to chose between the good of our fellowmen and my children, i will never doubt at choosing my children no matter how monstrous they are because they are my blood and they came from me. A mother will always be a mother! and I always will be a mother to them, monster or not." Hot tears dripped down the queen's garment as they rush down her flushed cheeks.
"I never doubted you being a good mother but your choices are ridiculously obtuse just for the sake of being called a good mother." The king was finally exasperated.
"are you implying that all of these were because of me? That I have caused this?" Queen Iduna looked beyond the imagery that was before her through the window. Her guilt has eaten her away long ago emotionally, mentally, and physically. She blankly asked her husband but she had always known. She should have just buried the dead new-born and bear another child again but this incident triggered her sense of motherhood that her reasoning had been clouded irrationally that she had done what she should have not done. The king had decided to spare her emotionally from the start and blamed all of these to her inexperience youth but she will always feel the burden of creating this evil child and affecting the innocent due to her impulsive decisions.
King Agnarr, opposite to the queen, had been smitten with idiocy from his wife that he subconsciously desired to have a conversation with the wise Annelise. He impertinently prayed that his queen was as brilliant and intellectual as Annelise, his dear commoner. He longs to have a deep conversation that can connect both souls and challenge his intellect which he hadn't experienced with the queen. The queen lacks vastness of continuous possibility but he won't put the weigh of the responsibility to his queen for the love of her. After all, she is a perfect definition of a mother. He remained silent for the time being to prevent dragging the conversation to nasty name-blaming and save the relationship of future aloofness.
The war of pride was paraded and hostility is eminent from both parties. None said a word for as long as they needed to subdue the emerging antipathy. Silence was the only way that can save their ego and the only thing that can be heard was the nonsensical talks of the royal children on the remaining duration of their ride.
As the carriage entered the majestic gates of the neighbouring kingdom and queen Iduna is absorbed by the scenery of the kingdom replaying the memories she had for the place from her last visit before she was wed, Elsa snatched Anna's ragdoll and the two are shrieking as the tug of war immediately arouse which has led the royalties' repulsion to a halt. The king instinctively grab Elsa's waist as what he is doing before to hinder her from repeatedly harming her sister. Anna screamed and put on a tantrum as Elsa firmly got the doll to herself. It was a moment of horror if Elsa was still in her true menacing form. But she didn't. She held the doll and pout murmuring something indistinct as normally as any child would. By her harmless act, the king was relieved tremendously as if an invisible sharp was taken away from his chest.
Unfortunately, the queen Iduna can't control her youngest daughter Anna as she tried to put the child in her lap to soothe. It has taken a while before both the parents locked eyes together with a deep emotional bliss in their smile realizing that this is an incidence they have longed to experience. A normal interaction of a chaotic family.
