Chapter 1 - Illegitimate

It was 1885 and the sky was loomed with clouds, in a house not far from woods woman was going under labour. The woman was the lover of the king Terence IV and had his illegitimate baby in her womb but this was known by a few as the king had his most trusted men guarding the small hut and, Joycelene, the wife of his loyal general, Lord Derek, helping out Diana, his lover, as he waited in the second room with Lord Derek.

"Please calm down my king, the baby and Madame will be alright," Lord Derek was one of the king's most trusted men and his childhood friend, he knew the brave king's fear was harm to people near his heart.

"How can I be calm Derek, I maybe the lord of a great kingdom but even so, I am just another father who is waiting for his child's delivery," the great king was walking in circles.

"I feel you emotions milord," Lord Derek and his wife were also just blessed with a child. He therefore knew of his lord's disease.

"AHHHH!!" A scream came from inside the room, which soon was followed by a cry of baby, hearing this the Lord moved towards his friend and supported him as the strong king, who knew no weakness was having trembles and tears filled his eyes as a proud smile lightened his face, "Derek please take me to my beloved and child."

The Lord smiled as the scene occurring only weeks back brought a feeling of nostalgia washed over him, just this time the supporting arms were the ones that took support.

The lord escorted his king inside where the king's heir was, the king regained himself and walked towards the crib beside his beloved looking inside he took a deep breath and asked, "Can I pick him?"

Hearing this Lord Derek wryly laughed, "It is literally yours."

"Yes but my hands seem to be not what I would call steady..." the king replied in his defence. "Terence..." Lady Diana said softly, she was tired from her labour, "you are the child's father..." The word 'father' somehow gave the king the courage he needed and he slowly picked up the child from the crib. "Careful," Lady Joycelene said.

The baby was sleeping, the delivery had it tired too, the king kissed the baby's forehead, "Welcome to the world my child..."

This was the beginning of a new era marked to bring down greatness or defeat.
