Chapter 17 - chapter 17: The taste of revenge

I made my way down the side street, knife if my left had, pistol in my right. My shotgun had run out of shells while I was jumping at shadows. A sudden burst of fire shot up and nearly hit me. I rose my arm up to protect my face, but felt something grab it. Before I knew it, I was flying in the air and hit the ground.

I looked up and saw a large, muscular man with lots of armor around his head, but there was an opening on his torso showing his muscles. I had dropped my gun and could not see it, but still gripped my knife tight. I stood up and got ready for a big fight.

"You!" He shouted of screams, gunshots, and explosions. "Look what you have done to this empire! It was perfect!" It started making sense. The few times I've seen the boss this guy was with him, he must be second in command.

"This is far from perfect!" I shouted back. "You are enslaving people, you are the most imperfect thing around this hell!"

He let out a war cry and raised his fists, which had gauntlets with rebar welded on them. He charged at me but luckily his armor made him slow, easy for me to doge. Everytime he'd miss a punch, I could hear him getting angrier and angrier.

One punch he his a wall with his rebar gauntlet. The rebar stabbed and got stuck in the wall. While he struggled to get it out, I ran up behind him and jammed the knife into his sides. I stepped back and watched as he let out a painful scream. He let out a few deep breaths and unbuckled his gauntlet, now with one normal fist out. He pulled the knife out and tossed it to the side and got back into the fight.

He pulled back his bare hand and punched me right in the jaw. It was so strong it threw me to the ground again on my back. I quickly looked up at him with his rebar hand pulled back ready to strike. I rolled to the side and dodged it by an inch. Again, his arm was stuck. I used to my advantage again, running to him, I pulled up his helmet and kneed him right in the face "Take this you bitch!"

His arm broke from the straps of his gauntlet, leaving him bare handed. He held his nose, probably broken. He was dazed from the sudden hit, and I noticed a large pit of fire behind him. I gathered all my strength and ran at him, drop kicking him in the stomach. He flew back into the fire and began screaming. I sat and watched as he failed around, his skin slowly falling off. Once he finally fell dead, I grabbed my knife, found my pistol and went on my way.

I gripped my pistol extra tight now, ready for anything. I examined a broken window and saw a large purple and black bruise was covering my whole cheek. I ignored it and marched on.

I eventually merged back with the main fighting and walked through all of it, ignoring the bodys, ignoring the screams, gunning down anyone near me. The tower was now close. I could practically feel the adrenaline rushing though my veins. Sooner than I knew, I was at the blown in front door of the bosses tower. There were a few slaves in there fighting their way up. I walked up the stairs, expecting it to be like the crowd earlier, but the men here had much better gear, automatic weapons, swat and army gear. It was a hassle to make it up and was hard to gun down the more geared up guys. Soon, I found myself trapped behind a sandbag wall with 3 slaves. I tossed away my shotgun and grabbed an AR-16 from the ground nearby. I began returning fire when soon, what sounded like a heavy machine gun rained bullets onto the group of assholes. I peeked over to see them all dead. I walked into the opening from were they were shot from and looked up and saw a familiar face. It was another one of my friends Aaliyah who moved to Philly. "Hey! Thanks for saving my ass!" I yelled to her. She smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I made my way up the now empty stair way, the only sounds coming from outside. I reached the platform were Aaliyah, Josh, Raymir, and Teejay waited for me.

I gave Teejay a fist bump and just nodded to Aaliyah as she was busy fighting off some more slavers that were trying to come up. Teejay helped Aaliyah a little bit, helping when she had to reload. I looked at Josh, who had a look of concern on his face.

"Whats the matter?" I asked him.

"We've been trying to get the doors to the main mans room open, but he has it barricaded." Josh replyed. I looked down the hall and saw Grace and Darrell trying to break down a double door. I scoffed.

"Look out!" I yelled to Darrell and Grace. They ran back and looked at me confused. I pulled a grenade off my breastplate and pulled the pin. I pulled my arm back, and tossed it down the hall. It hit the door and landed a few inches from the door and exploded. Dust rose up but I didn't wait, walking right through the cloud.
