The Stupid Genius Part Two
He glares at me with his piercing blue eyes. He hesitates before he leans in close enough for only me to hear and says" we need to talk". Unfortunately the last person who "talked" to the king was executed in front of the whole town. His name was Jacob Roberts AKA Sneaky Jack, a friend of my late aunt Beatrice. We walk outside and keep walking until we see an area where no one could hear us talk. An abandoned alleyway. As we entered the alleyway one of the men went ahead and the latter stayed behind. They probably wanted to protect the king from any sudden attackers.
"Is your name Koda Evans" said the king. "Yes sir" I reply trying my best not to sound uptight or look him in the eyes for that matter. He cracks a smile. Is it because my name is funny? Am I somebody he wants to kill? He calls over the taller looking guard. I look up at him. His confidence levels seem to have risen because that cracked smile he showed earlier had grown into a full blown smirk. The smile on his face was so smug he looked like one of those RPG villains in the old games my mom bought me.
"One more question ....... What is your mother's name" he asks And, "My mother's name is Carrie-Ann Evans" I reply. "Did she do anything wrong Sir" i ask impatiently. he lets out a small chuckle." she didn't do anything wrong unless giving birth to you was a crime "he says trying not to choke from laughing. Then suddenly RING! RING! RING! My phone was blasting a high volume.
