The world was becoming unsafe for humans due to evil monsters, but thankfully, there were others who had the courage to oppose them and claim to be heroes.
Heroes battle for global peace, achieving renown and glory through their exploits. Every everyone on the planet is motivated to become a hero at some point.
"Me? I work as a hero's aide.
Heroes usually have personal assistants; this isn't a reference to the heroes' party members. Hero assistants made things easy to grasp by carrying the hero's item and holding onto any loot from defeated monsters. Think of them as a mobile storage unit.
Not everyone in the world aspires to be a hero assistant because such positions are difficult and receive little recognition due to the weight of the equipment they must carry in their bags.
The hero's assistant also planned the hero's mission or their supplies. I nearly overlooked the fact that Hero Assistant has a ranking system that is comparable to that of Heroes.
Bronze rank hero assistants were the lowest level because they were just starting out as hero assistants and didn't need to carry a lot of stuff.
Bronze rank and Silver rank hero assistants were somewhat comparable, while Silver rank had greater work experience.
The majority of hero helpers were at the Gold tier, where they were required to possess combat skills with either a sword or magic because the hero could fight without worrying about the assistants' safety.
The Diamond rank was superior to the Gold rank and was reserved for hero assistants who could quickly learn the structure of the dungeon, had strong tracking abilities, and had superior combat skills.
The Star rank was the ultimate rank that any hero assistant could aspire to, but only three people have attained it, according to the most recent data from the Hero Assistant Association. This is because those who have attained this rank essentially possess the same skills as the hero, but they have chosen to work as hero assistants instead.
"But mister, at the end even you in the higher rank you still need to carry the heroes item right?"
"Yes because it was the hero assistant job to carry the item of the heroes."
"What a shoddy job, Tcch! I suppose I'll be a hero instead of a hero's aide when I grow up."
Saying that hero assistance was a lousy job loudly, the child started to leave.
The child said loudly that being a hero assistant was a menial job and started to walk away.
"I guess not everyone like to be a hero assistant."
Gazing up at the clear blue sky, Eiron thought back to the reason he had initially chosen to become a hero assistant. His goal has always been to carry on his father's legacy as a Diamond rank hero helper.
"Just one more rank then I will reach it, the Diamond rank."
Eiron was aware that in order to advance quickly and earn the Diamond level, he would need to put in more effort and take on more dangerous tasks.
"I almost forgot to head back to the association to report my current job."
Before it was dark, Eiron started to return to the association.
