Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Seated alone at a party my mother had hosted, I got bored rather quickly and decided to take a walk in the garden. Walking slowly among the flora that the gardener painstakingly planted, I came across a little girl squatting by a rose bush.

I approached her and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Ah!" The girl jumped in fright. "I-um, the prince... I'm just picking flowers for my sick mother."

"I see. I apologize for frightening you." I said. 'So she came to meet the prince. She probably fancies him.'

Taking a proper look, I noticed that she looked pretty. With fair skin, black eyes, and long black hair, she seemed like a little doll. 'Beautiful...'.

"Pleased to make your acquaintance. My name is Aster Saravelle. May I know yours?" I introduced myself.

"I-Irene Ruebel." She replied.

She didn't pay mind to me after that.

"I don't recall any Ruebel being invited to the party... Could I have missed it among all those invitations...?" I wondered aloud.

The girl absentmindedly looked out of the corner of her eye. Suddenly, she fell forward into the arms of a boy who was passing by with a shout.

"Ah! Help me, your highness!" She shouted as she fell into his arms.

'Huh?'

I turned to the boy into whose arms she fell. I recognized him instantly even though it was the first time I had seen him. The boy had silver-grey hair and green eyes -the same features as the first prince.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Your highness, I was picking flowers for my sick mother but Miss Saravelle pushed me and said that a commoner like me isn't invited to her party." The girl cried, tears flowing down her face.

'What? What is she saying? Did she just falsely accuse me to fall into the eyes of the prince? Hey, wait a minute! There are so many holes in her story, are you gonna believe her? Look, even your retainers are shaking their heads at her!'

The prince glared at me. "Miss Saravelle, daughter of Marquis Saravelle. How dare you use your status to bully someone! Of course, a person that looks as vile as you must be vile on the inside too. Get out of my sight!"

'Huh?! You're gonna believe her? So stupid! Wait a minute, did you just mix in an insult with your words?!'

He stomped his foot and walked away along with the girl who called herself Irene.

....

I sat in front of the mirror, looking at myself. I sighed. 'Indeed, I've been pampered a bit too much due to being the only child of this household. I.... am a bit... a bit....'

I looked at the girl in the mirror that faced me. Shiny blue eyes, pearly white teeth, soft milky skin, and bouncy golden curls that adorned my..... chubby....face.

'That's it! I've decided. I, Aster Saravelle, am going to diet!'

"Miss, you keep staring at the mirror. Is something wrong? If you're not feeling well, would you like some cake?" My maid Cassandra asked worriedly.

"Cassandra! I am going to diet starting today!" I exclaimed.

"But I brought you Osmanthus cake, Miss."

Me: "..."

Cassandra: "..."

" I shall diet from tomorrow! Bring me the cake!"

'And the prince that ridiculed me... just you wait! I will plan revenge..... starting tomorrow!'
