Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Oh dear lord...

I blushed.

"Oh dear, I really am late ain't i ", he smirked, his eyes glistening with mischief.

"Well, I was just going to ask your manager to throw you out of your job, soooo you should be thankful to me ", I scoffed.

Suddenly he was no longer attractive.

He had changed quite a lot...since the day I left..

His face drained out of color but he quickly covered it up with his annoying signature smirk, again.

"I know you won't, sky".

Sky? What? No one called me that.

"In case you don't know, pizza boy, my name is SARAH ", I slammed the door on his face and threw the money out of the letter slit smirking at my smartness.

I heard him chuckle as he picked up the money and muttered "fiesty" before starting his bike and going away.

I shook my head. I had more problems than that stupid jerk Jack right now.

What happened to me? Where is my deer charm? What is the crystal?

Thousands of questions swirled through my mind as I devoured the mouth-watering heavenly pizza when a loud yelp shook me out of my trance.

Bruno.

I rushed upstairs only to find him sprawled on the floor with my blanket over him. How did it fall on him? I wondered, amused at his clumsiness when suddenly something caught my eye leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.

The crystal attached to my bracelet had turned purple.

A shiver ran down my spine as I grabbed Bruno and rushed downstairs flinging the front door open with every intention to flee from the house when I was met with my mom her hand midway in the air as if to ring the doorbell.

I flung myself into her arms and started sobbing

"Hush sweetie..we are home now dear ", she spoke softly as dad gathered me into his strong arms and took me to the couch.

"Its okay Sarah ", dad mumbled his baby blue orbs the last things I saw as I fell into a deep sleep.

Jacks pov

"Where the hell are you JACK? ", Sam practically yelled into my ears causing me to remove the phone from my ears as I balanced the bike in one hand.

"On the last order boss", I grumbled.

"Better make it quick", he spoke in his usual notorious voice indicating he wasn't angry at all.

That was Sam. Scaring the living daylights out of a man only to show him in the last moment it wasn't serious. He was the one who knew me too well, who was always there for me...

A car honked as I severed to the left when suddenly something cool made contact with the skin of my stomach as I felt it burn and bit back a cry.

I stopped the bike and got off, all the giddiness of meeting Sarah long gone as I inspected my stomach.

The pendant was there, making brief contact, which had etched a strange symbol, but not at all like the pendant.

It was so small that I could barely recognize it...

The number... One.
