I can't believe that the day is approaching. The day for Which I got into an accident, was choked to death, got wounded multiple times, not to forget, I discovered love; that day is at the brim and I don't even know what I'll be wearing! On a brighter side, Ava and Abby too aren't done with the shopping part, so we decided that we'll go out today together. I still have three hours of time before our tiring session of shopping begins, and in those three hours, I'll have a very important conversation with Ethan.
It's nothing serious, just a little something I came across yesterday, and Ethan was involved. The thing is, that all of a sudden, Reyes international sponsored our school prom with a whole lot of money. Now our prom will be held in a fancy, Ball room style club house, rather than it's usual place, the school auditorium.
Am I happy with this? I don't know.. I wanted to experience a traditional prom. The usual type. But seeing Ethan put so much effort, to make sure that I get the best of everything, is the cutest thing ever.
Wearing a full sleeved shirt, tucked inside a casual skirt, which stopped two inches above my knees, I drove to the Reyes' mansion and went straight to Ethan's room. I greeted Carol on my way there. She pays a regular visit now, that the relation between her and Ethan is mended.
I opened the door, and like always, Ethan was standing beside the balcony door, with a book in his hands.
"You should put a couch there somewhere. I almost always find you at the very same spot, on my every visit."
I said as I approached him.
"Finally managed some time for me?"
He said with a smirk, keeping the book aside and enveloping me in his embrace.
"Missing me already? What will you do when I'll leave for college?"
"... I'll manage."
His tone gave me the hint that he's hiding something. I raised an eyebrow at him, but he just smirked and asked,
"So what brings you here today?"
."I wanted to talk about the prom. Why did you-"
I was stopped mid sentence by Ethan's ringing phone. He took out his phone, looked at it's screen, and then at me.
"Don't you dare pick it up..."
He mouthed a 'sorry' and attended the call.
The only condition we have for each other is that, when we're together, we won't be attending phonecalls, or working on laptops. Especially, if we are having a conversation. Ethan, however, is allowed to break this rule sometimes as I understand that his work demands this from him, but today I just wasn't in the mood to tolerate anything.
Behaving like a diva, I rolled my eyes and started to leave. While still on phone, Ethan stopped me by holding my wrist and pulled me back to him. He wrapped an arm around my waist and held me close to him, trying to convey that I still have his attention. But this much wasn't enough for me.
It's okay if he doesn't gives me the attention I want.... As I very well know how it's taken.
I draped my arms around his shoulders, tiptoed and planted a velvet soft kiss on his cheek. After nuzzling his jaw with kisses, I delivered a slow, wet kiss on his neck.
This is something I've been doing a lot lately. The reactions Ethan gives after them is priceless. The only problem is that, what he may do after the neck kiss is totally unpredictable. Some days, he's controlled, other days.... Wild, to say the least.
Ethan's heartbeat quickened and his breathing went shallow. He was struggling to maintain his conversation as his voice became more hoarse and erratic with every passing second. I sucked a little below his ear, and that's when he gave up.
He abruptly cancelled his call and literally threw his phone away. He pushed me to a nearby wall and pressed his body over mine. He kissed me hungrily and his hands roamed all over me, exploring my curves. The kiss was so passionate, that breathing was becoming harder. My heart hammered and my chest heaved up and down with excitement of the moment. I touched Ethan's shoulder, giving it a light push as a sign to break the kiss, but he didn't. He pinned my hands above my head with one hand, and his other hand kneaded my breast. His tongue was dominating mine, and that made my knees go weak.
He finally let go of my lips and wispered,
"You behaved very badly today. Am I being too gentle with you nowadays?"
I was still collecting my breath so I didn't say anything. But he wasn't even waiting for an answer and he continued,
"Now... It's time for you to get disciplined."
My eyes widened at the sound of that. I very well remember what Ethan means by 'getting disciplined'. Before I could protest, he picked me up bridal style and carried me towards his bed. I looked up at him with pleading eyes and tried to negotiate.
"Ethan, please, not now. I have to meet my friends in an hour."
"You should have thought about that before doing what you did."
He tossed me on his bed and climbed on top of me. I tried convincing him again.
"Ethan... I'm sorry. Please, not now."
"This has happened twice this week."
"But I promise I won't do it again. I need to buy a new dress for the prom, Ethan. I have to go shopping."
"We'll buy a dress tommorow."
His one hand disappeared under my skirt and with other, he started unbuttoning my shirt. He bent down to kiss me again, but with fluid motion, I brought my hands up, took his face between my palms, and stopped him.
"Ethan, I really need to go shopping today. Let me go and I promise we'll continue this later. Please?"
Ethan stared at me with a grim expression for sometime and then broke into a smile.
"Fine. You can go. But we'll be continuing this very soon; and that time, I won't be waiting for your permission..."
He kissed me one last time and then got up, allowing me to get up as well. I climbed down his bed, while he sat on a plush armchair nearby. I straightened my skirt and walked towards him while asking,
"Who's call was it, by the way?"
"Harry Winston-"
He immediately stopped after taking the name and pinched his eyes shut, as if instantly regretting what he said.
"Harry Winston... Like, the diamond store?"
".. yeah"
"A business call? Or are you buying something?"
"...Buying.."
I wished to fish out a more detailed answer, because he was clearly hiding something. Before I could ask him further, he decided that it was his turn to throw questions.
"Anyways..."
He said and extended a hand towards me. I took his hand and he gently pulled me, making me sit on his lap. Then he went on,
"So what was it, you were saying before?"
"Oh yeah! Ethan, why is Reyes international sponsoring a highschool prom?"
"Your principal wasn't allowing me to enter the prom as a part of it. I wasn't in the mood of letting you go there with some other guy, so I proposed sponsoring the event. Now, I get to do whatever changes I want in it."
"So was the theme 'luxury' your idea?"
"I had no hand in it."
"Really....?"
"..... I may have influenced them a little..."
I couldn't help smiling.
"Ethan, do you realize what level of stubborn child you are?"
"No, I'm not. And I almost forget to ask you. Would you like to be the prom queen?"
".....you can't be serious right now."
"I'm as serious as I can be."
"Umm... No. I'm good without that title."
"May I ask why?"
"I don't want to win using your wallet."
"Grace, it's nothing like that. Think about it again. It'll be a memory worth telling for the rest of your journey."
"I'm not really the type to get hyped up over a pageant title. Moreover, I already have a lot of memories worth telling for the rest of my journey, and there's no doubt I'll be creating more through out it."
"Everyday... I fall harder for you."
"Don't fall too hard love, or you may break your nose."
".....No matter how much I love you, I have to say, that you sincerely need to work on your sense of humor."
After that we chatted for some time and then I left for shopping.
Shopping turned out to be more tiresome than expected. After five hours of running around, Ave was still not satisfied with the shoes option she was provided with. The theme luxury, wasn't exactly the most easy one, so we bought what we could find closest to it.
Abby decided to go with a turquoise ball gown, which had a beautiful satin top. Ave bought a mermaid tail gown which was sky blue in colour. The colour complimented her eyes and the dress was flaunting her figure. To me, luxury isn't beauty, it's elegance, so I went with something comparably simpler. Mine was a shampain coloured A-line dress, it had tiny golden beads which made floral patterns all over it. The neck line was simple and not too deep, but the lower half of my dress was very long and flowy, which fulfilled the luxurious vibes.
As days passed by, I got more nervous and busier. Everyday, I added something new to my shopping list. This may have been a sign of me panicking, but can you blame me for that?
Soon enough, it was prom night. I was ready and was adding some last minute finishing touches to my look. Ethan rolled over in the phantom edition of his Rolls Royce. After snapping various pictures, my parents finally allowed us to leave for the venue.
The Location was somewhere above a hill, but it wasn't too far away. I was very nervous through out the ride, so Ethan talked to me about, how this can be the best night ever, and I actually relaxed a bit.
As we made our entrance, every single pair of eyes were glued on us. I even saw some famous faces, who probably were Ethan's friends, and were invited. Though I don't understand why.
The venue was gorgeously decorated in gold and ivory. The stage was dazzling and the atmosphere carried a sweet essence of love in it. It's way more beautiful than a person can convey.
Everything was going smoothly. Every couple were dancing, having fun, kissing in the corners, some were simply goofing around. And at that moment, for a very little duration, I thought, this may actually be the best night ever. But that thought vapored away as soon as I saw Ethan's expression. He had a mixture of worry and nervousness on his face which was odd. Ethan is never nervous. I asked him in a concerned voice,
"Ethan? Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm good."
"Are you sure? You look nervous?"
"... maybe because I am nervous?"
"And why is that?"
"Are you sure you want to know the reason?"
"As sure as I can ever be."
"Then come along."
He offered me his hand and I happily took it. We glided through the crowd, hand in hand. It appeared as if Ethan was showing me off.
On our way, to somewhere I don't know, I saw Ave standing in a corner, stealing glances at Noah. Noah himself was doing the same. I excused myself for a little while, and approached Ave, alone.
"Why are you here alone?"
"I was just waiting for... Abby. She'll be here soon."
"Okay. I'll call her and tell her not to come."
"Why would you do that?"
"Because you are going to have a fantastic evening with Noah. And I'm sure Abby would like to have the same with Kyle."
"Grace-"
"Shh.. not a word. The entire School knows that you two belong together. Go on, talk, and mend whatever differences there are."
"I don't know.. are you sure it won't worsen everything?"
"For goodness's sake Ave, you know you are both devastated by not doing your PDA. Go and ask him for a dance. Believe me, he wants the same thing.."
She looked at me with a doubtful expression, but I shooed her off and she had no other option but to listen to me. And I was proven correct, as within minutes, they kissed, and went dancing to the slow music.
As I went back to Ethan, his lips were curved up slightly. He was trying hard to keep a straight face. He said,
"So now you play Cupid as well?"
"No. I was playing a friend, like always."
He greeted me with a full smile and we continued our walk to, God knows where.
After climbing few stairs, we found ourselves in a balcony. I said to him teasingly,
"I should have known we'll come here. Your kingdom of solitude, the balcony."
He smiled a bit too wide, then calmed himself down and looked at me. His expressions were very unusual to what they generally are. He looked unsure, scared, nervous, vulnerable and at the same time was looking at me with all the love a heart can hold. He took my hands in his and started to speak, and I had a feeling that I should sit down somewhere for this conversation.
