"You know, you look like my friend," she said after minutes of silence. The moon is shining so bright that serves as the only light in the room.
"Who?" I asked, curiously. "Grey, a friend of mine from the orphanage."
My eyes grew wide as I heard the word, am I right or I just misheard what she said? "Orphanage?"
She nods slowly. "I came from an orphanage."

I was playing innocently in the park alone, I was used to it, I have no friends nor playmates, I am all alone. I grab the shovel in the sandbox and make a sand castle that at least lessen my sadness. After making, I imagined myself dancing in a castle, with princess clothes and everyone around me is happy, clapping and really loves me. A prince held my hand and dance me around making the day more beautiful.
In sad reality, I was just there, smiling endlessly while gazing at the sand castle. Then someone kicked the castle that stopped me from dreaming. Arianne with her troupe surrounded me, making me shiver in their shadows. "Hey you kiddie! My feet aches, can you massage it?!" She said with pride. "No," I fearfully refused. "Girls, you know what to do."
They started pulling my hair and kicked me without pity. They scratch my skin making it redder then bleeds. They kicked me in my stomach causing me to vomit a little amount of blood.
"Next time, learn your lessons." She bade their goodbye. I lied there with tears and nobody wants to help. My teacher, Ms. Marlene saw me, but then, she quickly run away and hide herself away from the CCTV coverage.
I was all alone. Then a kid, the same age of mine, which is 10, lie with me on the ground.
"I can't help you but maybe I could accompany you." Then I teared once again, not from sadness but of happiness. I'm happy that someone wants to be with me, despite from being a loner.
He isn't wearing any uniform so I assume he only live close. We talked for hours and he brings out his silly jokes. Until 6 o'clock comes. I don't care if I arrive home late, nobody scold me after all.
I was standing there in the doorway when my mom, with her phone in ears passed beside me and avoid as far as she could. My nanny approach me and brings me to the bathroom. "What happened to you?" She asked but I didn't care to respond.
After my bath, she brings me to my room then I heard mocks outside from our laundry crew. "How dare that child! How can I remove these blood stains! Ugh!"
My lips curved downwards but then I remember the kid. He's also handsome, ugh. After remembering our conversation, how both of us laugh, I was smiling from ear to ear. Then I turned off the ceiling lights and activate the lamp, preparing for my sleep.
The next day, I was able to smile, unlike the past ones. The day seem normal, after class, I went directly to the park. I was expecting him to come. After a couple of minutes, she came there, with a shovel in his hand. "Let's play?" He asked, I nodded happily and so we did. Hours passed when the troupe of Arianne came, both of us surrounded by their shadows.
"You got a boyfriend?" I glance on the kid, who was staring to her. In his eyes, it was like, he's expecting this scenario. "Go away," he's voice with a glint of respected mandatory. "Don't interfere, you're just an orphan, aren't you?" With Arianne's voice, in his face, he's suffering from pain, pain that cannot be feel physically, instead emotionally.
"It doesn't mean that your family got all the power. It doesn't mean that your a child of the founder of the most leading organization of the country. It doesn't mean that you have the right to step in people's dignity." Those words were slow with emphasis, but it hits like bullets.
Later on, a man in black, who probably heard the conversation, hold Arianne and pointed a gun at her. In my instinct, I sense danger, and did my best to grab the gun from the man. The boy helped me, at the time I held the gun, we were shocked in horror, in the park echoed a loud bang and blood flowed from my bully's head.
The man left us quickly, and I was there holding the gun with shaking hands. Residents nearby heard the noise and surrounded us. In their eyes I'm a murder. Police arrived nearly, and checked the CCTV in the park, and somehow, I was proved innocent.
We were all in the station, each of us were interviewed. My mom and dad arrived with their face clearly shows disappointment, rage, anger and negative words possible.
The news spread like a wild fire. And who they point as a murderer? No other than me. I was avoided, as usual, but more frequent in my school, the admin even filed for me to expel. Then my parents decided to put me in an orphanage to take care of their reputation, especially they are part of Arianne's dad company.
There are met the kid, and he was Grey. We enjoyed the two years of our happiness in the orphanage. But when we were twelve, we were both adopted, by different couples. We lost contact, until now that I'm fifteen, I don't know where he is.
Tears started to flow from my eyes unknowingly remembering my painful past. By the time I become happy, it was also the time it ended. There I thought, universe is cruel and unfair. After giving us a drop if happiness, the pain afterwards is harder to bear.
I felt a touch in my face, "Don't cry." He said with his magical soothing voice. "Don't worry because after bearing the pain, is a neverending happiness. All we have to do, is to believe."
Then there I was, staying positive to life again.
