The 7 years old Amethyst gazed at her parents with an expectant look, she played the tune 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' to show her parents her achievement in piano, but Ruby also did the same thing and played the same tune but only Ruby was acknowledged.
"As expected of Ruby! Truly an outstanding daughter of the Evergreen family!" Her dad, Topaz Evergreen, cried with a clear proud tone gazing lovingly at his second daughter. Amethyst clenched her fist.
"Daddy i played the song much longer than Ruby!" Amethyst commented while looking so wronged, but instead of getting a reply, her parents only looked at her coldly.
"Daddy can i get a tutor for piano? I want to be a pianist!" Ruby said while grinning widely, showing her deep set of dimples. Ruby has a long black silky hair, jade-like skin, big brown doe eyes, long eyelashes, button-like nose, and a pinkish lips. With this appearance, who can resist this charming and innocent girl.
Amethyst huffed. This sister of hers is indeed the epitome of cuteness and innocence, while she look nothing like her. With her natural platinum blonde hair, a deep and profound ink-black eyes, long and curled eyelashes, tiny nose, snowy white skin, and reddish lips she looks aloof and almost isolated from any other mankind. She doesn't look innocent enough for her age, thus not gaining her parents' love, or so she thought.
"Of course! Anything my princess wants, just tell me and Daddy will do his best to get it!" Their dad said and lifted up Ruby and carried her while their Mom laughed at the doting attitude of their Dad. Amethyst was left out in the corner. Since it looks like they won't be bothered with her existence, she slipped away silently and went back to her room.
They chose Ruby.

"Jade! Wait for me!" The 10 years old Amethyst ran towards her childhood friend, Jade. He was the son of the wealthiest man in the business industry- next to Amethyst's dad, Garnet Osbourne.
They are currently in the garden located at the Osbourne's Mansion. It was Jade's 12th birthday today. Being the daughter of his dad's best friend, he invited her much to his dismay. Jade never liked this girl, she always chase after him like a madman. He had enough of her remarks of 'I like you!' and 'I'll marry you!' that he get every time they meet.
This girl started chasing him when he was six years old, up until now. Although Jade do admit that she looks pretty, he prefers her sister, Ruby. Ruby was the epitome of a perfect lady for him, honest, sweet, beautiful, and a talented lady. He scoffed when he thought of Amethyst, she is far from the perfect lady that he wants. She is brazen, straightforward, and an utter disgrace.
Amethyst ran as fast and successfully catches up with Jade, and gave him a present.
"I bought this one for you when i sneaked out!" She said with a proud grin. Jade looked at her coldly, received his present, and walked away hurriedly.
Amethyst isn't happy about being ignored, but she still secretly followed after him and she saw how Ruby also gave him a present in which Jade replied with a thanks and a sweet smile on his lips. The scene broke her heart, but she continued following after him.
What she saw almost upsets her to death, she saw how Jade didn't bother to open her present and directly put it in the garbage bin, while the present Ruby gave him was almost crushed at his embrace.
They chose Ruby, Again.

18 years old Amethyst was walking mindlessly when she saw Jade running. She knotted her brows as she didn't know why this ice block man is in here. So she followed him. She was just finished reading documents and proposals for her family's company so she was a bit slow and dull in mind.
Jade stopped in front of Ruby's room, and knocked. Ruby opened up her door and met with Jade's heated gaze and asks 'what's the matter'. Jade grabbed her wrist and they walked along the greenhouse that's present outside the mansion. Amethyst felt hurt but she still followed after them.
"Ruby I want to ask you something." Jade said without his usual cold voice that's used when speaking with Amethyst.
"Older brother Jade, what's wrong?" Ruby asked while slipping out her wrist from his grasp.
"Ever since I was young i admired you, i know that our gap is 4 years but i don't care. I just want to ask if you are willing to marry me?" Jade said straightforwardly. Amethyst felt her cheeks has gotten wet. Huh? It's not raining. She thought. But it never come across Amethyst's mind that she is crying.
Before even hearing Ruby's response, she stormed off and went back to her room. She sat at her desk and started reading proposals again, but her mind is blank. Because of the scene earlier, she felt devastated and unknowingly signed up a proposal that she will regret for the rest of her life.
Ruby, why are you so lucky?

The 20 years old Amethyst gazed at her surroundings. A rundown apartment that she's been living in for 2 years. At 18 years old, she was kicked out of the house because she signed up a scam proposal that caused the family to lost 500 million dollars. Her father was so furious that he slapped Amethyst thrice and pushed her out of the family. Amethyst thought of the time when her sister, Ruby lost almost the same amount when she was just starting at her business endeavour but instead of getting scolded, her parents comforted Ruby that it's natural to fail at her first try.
It was then Amethyst realized that it's not that the people around her prefer the more beautiful, more talented, and more excellent girl, It's just that people already chose Ruby from the beginning and gave no room for her to barge in. So no matter what Amethyst does, she can't outshine Ruby since she's already shining from the beginning. Her parents love Ruby as Ruby and it doesn't matter if she is talented or not, even if Ruby became retarded, they will still love Ruby and not her.
Amethyst chuckled, she followed another people's path for all her life, and still receiving nothing. Nobody cared for her, not her parents, not her maid, not her tutor, not her grandparents, especially not Jade. She loved this man for almost all her life but he still chose Ruby. She wants to change her life, but it was too late since all she had now is a 10 dollar bill, and her rundown apartment. Lonely, cold, and isolated. She had nothing.
She remembered that time when she first saw Ruby as a competition when she was born. Ever since then, she tried her best just to get the affection that her parents is giving Ruby, and the way that she thought that would work is by outshining Ruby with everything.
She learned everything, from piano to all the instruments possible. She saw how interested her Mom was with multilingual people, she learned all the languages that she can possibly learn. She saw how Jade likes sweets, she learned how to bake and cook. She saw how her grandparents was interested in arts, she learned how to paint and even write calligraphy till her wrist hurt. But they only acknowledged Ruby's work. Ruby can play piano, so her parents sent Ruby the most famous pianist to be mentored. Ruby can speak languages, her mom almost shouted to the whole world how talented Ruby is. Ruby baked a cake for Jade, he almost worshipped her to death. Ruby painted some painting for their grandparents, they even created a room specifically for Ruby's painting at their house. While Amethyst was left out.
The original stunning countenance that Amethyst had was now gone. Her long platinum blonde hair was destroyed since she cut it short enough to pass as a boy's haircut. Her original pale skin was now copper-like and almost manly-tan because of the labor that she was forced to do when she was kicked out of the house 2 years ago. Her smooth jade-like hands was now rough and full of callouses. Lastly, her originally stunning face was replace with dull and lifeless face because of fatigue.
Her stomach grumbled. She was hungry, and remembered that she hadn't eaten anything for the past day so she get out of her apartment and walked at the nearby convenience store. As she was walking down the road, she failed to notice the uncontrolled truck that's raging towards her. And before she knew it, she felt her whole body gone numb, as she gaze at the huge uproar from the crowd due to the accident.
She tilted her eyes at her left side, and surprisingly saw someone who isn't supposed to be there-Ruby. Her face was full of tears, while shaking up and hugging her body. Panic was all over her sister's face. She smiled warmly. When was the last time that someone cared for her? She can't remember. And now, Ruby, the one who she hated the most for all her life, is at her side, weeping for her death. Amethyst asked herself why did she not treat this little sweet girl in front of her better in the past? Guilt slowly devoured her dying consciousness.
She reached out for her sister's stunning face and weakly said," If i had the chance to live again, I will treat you better."
And before she knew it, darkness swallowed her. Is this what it felt to be dead? It feels empty. Amethyst thought. But then she felt the sunshine gazing at her face so she slowly opened her eyes. Eh? Sunshine? Open her eyes? Wasn't she dead?
She looked around her familiar yet unfamiliar place in front of her- it was her room. But her room was not pink, it was white when she left it. Did Ruby save her? And brought her home? But why is her room's colour pink?
Then she gazed at her hands and realization hit her. Before her 6th birthday, she asked the workers to change her room's colour into white since Ruby likes pink, and she hated it. Looking at her hands now, a tiny smooth hands with jade-like skin it seems like...
She grabbed a mirror from her night desk's drawer and looked at her appearance, It was her five years old self. But something changed. In her past life, she noticed her one eye was instead a dark blue in colour rather than her usual ink black.
But now, what was gazing at her in the mirror was her 5 years old self, with a black and ocean blue orbs looking at her.
She reincarnated.
