Chapter 5 - Nasty woman

The queen remained mute. The dowager touched her head with care and said "I don't mean to sound so harsh Neemah. But you know I want my Aariz to have his own kids too. I would prefer you give birth to them" she assured.

"I pray so mother" the queen replied softly.

The dowager moved back and said "sleep a lot. I'll take care of everything. Don't you dare leave this room unless I tell you to. You must rest so much that you completely recover when my son comes back. I want you to get pregnant soon. I just don't get how that would happen when you are always sick!" She remarked.

"Ok mother" the queen, ever dutifully replied.

"Tell me if you need anything" the dowager offered graciously. And when she left, the queen finally raised her head and glared heatedly at her retreating back. What a nasty woman, she thought to herself.

She gingerly got up and peered below to check for the blood she was sure is beginning to stain her clothes. And right there, it was! Even though she is weak, she quickly washed herself, feeling her body shake slightly, she knew she truly needed rest. But she would not chance anyone seeing that blood. Or else, she would be doomed.

She shook off the sheets from the mattress and took them into her closet. She hid them in one of her personal chests before heaving a sigh. She made sure to clean every splotch of blood before a wave of satisfaction hit her. Then she finally collapsed on the bed, breathing laboriously.

Her thoughts wandered and she began to ruminate about the possible outcomes of her situation.

Without a doubt, if the dowager knows she has been suffering miscarriages, she would be in trouble. In fact, she wasn't sure Aariz could defend her at all. She has been lying since the first miscarriage. Hot tears fell from her lids and she cried into her pillow wishing her husband was close. If Aariz was good enough for anything at all, it is that he sympathizes without judgement. At least he would not shock you with whatever is going on in his head. He would remain quiet just keep from saying anything at all. And his favorite phrase, 'everything comes, everything goes. So don't fret" would surely emerge to soothe the nerves.

A smile tugged at her lips, thinking of her husband and his weird tendencies. He is so different that she revels in the feeling of having him as hers. Neemah loves unique and rare things. She hated sharing. Which is why she prefers the things not anyone can have.

Even at home, with ten sisters from the same mother, Neemah hardly shares anything. She would always prefer to go without than to share it with someone else. It had brought in a lot of misery, and trouble, to her, but she didn't care. Nothing would change her innate nature.

In fact, sometimes, she wished that she didn't have to share her parents with siblings. It was quite hectic to have to wait your turn for everything. This is why Neemah had distanced herself from her birth parents. She would merely watch the others fuss over them. Loving them is natural, she guessed. But caring and nurturing needs dedication. She didn't think it was worth it when others would provide the same care.

She had grown up in the same circle as Aariz. She knows more about him than his birth mother. Even from a tender age of eleven, Neemah had begun to see him as hers. 'I would marry him when I grow up' she had always thought to herself. So Neemah had grown up to emulate all the characters Aariz had preferred in people. And when it was apparent he would be Emir, she had gone an extra mile to emulate the characters of a queen. She had worked so hard, suffered so much, to get to where she is today.

Aariz does care for her. He had told her several times. She gives him peace and satisfaction, he had been clear. It wasn't until Aaidah that things had taken a sharp turn.

Her mood darkened when she remembered the twit!

As Aariz would say. Everything comes, everything goes. Aaidah came, Aaidah left.

Her rage is just from the fact that after going through much hardship to eliminate Aaidah, why did the brat have a twin?!

Aariz seems more engrossed in this godforsaken Aairah than he ever was with the annoying Aaidah. Perhaps because the stupid girl had the gall to die so tragically. She would've preferred she died under different circumstances so Aariz would only think of her when his heart boils over with rage. Perhaps then, this blasted Aairah situation would not have been born!

She has an inkling that whatever he was doing while he disappears for a few hours, sometimes, days at a time, it has to do with the girl. Surely, a lady such as her would not indulge in unsavory behaviors before marriage. It would seem more logical if Aariz was trying to find a way to bring her back.

Maicki is a stern mother who disciplines her kids. So Aariz too, would have to endure the fact that Aairah would never be his.

It has been a popular topic in Maicki. That the Mrithi of the Abdulaziz clan has been involved in the smuggling business, discrediting his family name and rendering Aairah unsafe for marriage. Even though the marriage pact had been signed, it was impossible to implement and the Fillo clan had to collect their dowry back.

It was too close for comfort.

Neemah knew though, as long as Aairah lives, Aariz would try to do right by her. He would always feel guilty about Aaidah. He is just so noble it's maddening at times.

She needs to help him make Aairah disappear.

At first, she had thought Aairah would really stay away. She had threatened the poor girl into submission. Thankfully, the girl loves her mother more than her self.

The queen has men watching the woman's house in Ghana and there is a house help who is a trained assassin living with her. The assassin can kill the woman with nothing but a signal from her through amazing technologies.

So she needed to find out the exact situation. Aariz trusts her a lot. And he still thinks she loved Aaidah almost as much as he had cared for her. So if she phrased her words right, she could get a lead. Perhaps, the girl needs a reminder.

That her mother's life is mine. The queen thought with relish.
