Chapter 3 - The news

"OH MY GOD!" Miyeon yelled as she jerked up from her bed, drenched in ice-cold water.

Miyeon shivered as small pieces of ice entered through her garments, and her garments, now wet, clung to her body. A male laughter burst through the room.

"Lee Minjae, when I agreed to let you stay the night, this wasn't the thank you that I expected." Miyeon glared at Minjae, adding on to his amusement.

Last night, after sending off drunk Haera with her cousin, Miyeon went to her house with Minjae, as he relentlessly pleaded to let him stay the night, seeing that his parents kicked him out.

Minjae was a third-generation chaebol who got everything in the blink of his eyes. After a prank pulled on his fiancée, Minjae's parents forbade him to enter into their premises and cancelled all his cards.

The prank was that all the dishes ordered by her will be extra spicy, which she absolutely loathed, and when she tried to soothe her spiciness with her wine, the wine turned out to be extremely salty. This prank was easy for Minjae to pull as the restaurant was owned by his family.

Seeing Minjae desperately want to spend the night here, Miyeon was unable to say no. Moreover, she had no problems with Minjae staying over, since despite his behaviour, she trusted him with his morals.

"You look hot!" Minjae commented, adding a wink.

Miyeon realized that her wet pajamas have become see-through and her undergarments were almost clearly visible. Blushing furiously, she attempted to push Minjae out of her room.

"Okay, okay! I'm leaving. Get dressed and come out soon," Minjae said, closing the door and not forgetting to wink at Miyeon again.

"That ungrateful bastard, I should have made him stay on the streets."

After a short shower, Miyeon got dressed in a casual, light blue dress and stepped out of her room. Surprise filled Miyeon when she saw home-cooked pancakes on her tables.

Minjae sat at one of the chairs, and when he saw Miyeon coming towards him, Minjae smiled. "Hurry up! The pancakes will get cold."

Squinting her eyebrows, Miyeon said, "This better not be another one of your pranks."

Smiling innocently, Minjae said, "You know how I can never do that."

Glaring at the liar, Miyeon said, "I'm still holding a grudge for the morning."

"I know. That's why, I'm taking you out on a date," Minjae said, sipping on his orange juice.

"No, thank you," Miyeon spoke out, taking a bite out of the pancake carefully. To her astonishment, they tasted amazing. "You're good at this unexpectedly for someone spoiled."

"Guess you can say that I'm a genius. The date will be beneficial to both of us. Check the recent entertainment news."

Taking out her phone, Miyeon searched for the content. After a while, she saw the news regarding her, Minjae, and Bohyun; it was during the class reunion.

Miyeon read aloud, "Lee Minjae of Artemis Enterprise and Oh Miyeon seemed close at their recent class reunion. When Lee Minjae's fiancé, Oh Bohyun, a top actress under Night Entertainment and heiress of Venus Enterprise, noticed that, and she went to confront them both on the matter.

Lee Minjae clearly defended Oh Miyeon in front of everyone instead of Bohyun and called her his girlfriend. According to an inside source, they both are sisters. Among both these sisters, who actually will Minjae choose in the end is the question? Will Miyeon end up being his mistress?"

Stunned by the contents, Miyeon exclaimed, "What kind of shit is this?! Your mistress?! Can't these reporters get more creative?! And why would I want to stir up more trouble by going on a date with you?! How could reporters get in the first place?! For a top place, the security suck!"

"Don't you want to see how much of slap on the face it would be for your sister?" Minjae asked while mischievous glint appeared in his eyes.

"It's alright about that part, but I have a bad feeling about your involvement in this," she said as she stared at him with distrust.

"It's an exchange for letting me stay at your house. Please, I can't let anyone of my friends to know that I'm homeless. That would be humiliating," he voiced out. Wearing a pout on his eyes, he blinked his eyes multiple times at her for looking cute.

Miyeon nonchalantly responded, "I don't agree to it, and I don't really care about your stupid pride."

"Yeonnie, I'm saying please to you." Minjae looked at Miyeon with puppy eyes. "Plus do you not want to see her embarrassed?"

"I don't want to start a cat fight with her and destroy my peaceful life. If I retort at her, this process will be forever continued, and I really am at the disadvantageous side with this."

Minjae rolled his eyes.

"Now, that she has seen me with you yesterday plus this news, do you think she won't stir up anything?"

Minjae's offer seemed tempting to Miyeon. However, Miyeon reminded herself to not get involved in such things. Oh family is something she left behind, and there's nothing she wanted to do with them.

Taking out her wallet, Miyeon placed some cash on Minjae's hand. "Since you have no money, take this and book yourself a hotel. It won't be appropriate for us to stay together. If she comes up to me, I will just kiss a girl and say how my sexuality is changed now."

"The offer is still up," Minjae spoke out, finishing his pancake.
