Blood.
As a clinical pathologist for three and a half decades, it is a sight I'm most familiar of. But as blood ran down my nose, I realized there are still moments I'd be surprised to see it.
Rhio's guards held him in place while he stood there in his intimidating aura. His fists were still clenched and I expected another punch from him when he struggled to get free from his men's grips. Instead, he went away unapologetic.
I wasn't angry but a little upset to think he must have had never really considered me, or Elthon in that aspect, as his guardians.
Had we raised him badly?
Had we made him feel that alone?
My phone buzzed in my pocket as a message chimed in.
Rhio's latest semen analysis result has come.
I felt uneasy to let that information wait for the next morning. The fertility laboratory closes at ten and there was still some time left to get there. I dismissed all the men to follow after Rhio while I sped the car off to the hospital.
