----------------Fiery Gecko's POV-----------------------
"That was a nice snack!" I thought just as I finished swallowing the last bit of what seemed to be a young fox's silver furred head.
As I continue to speed through the forest, I suddenly smelt something "Sniff sniff! Is that a human? Would he be strong?" I hesitated a bit at that point but the very the next moment I threw out all such thoughts and without slowing down, continued towards the human as I thought "we'll see when we get there".
After around a minute, I have finally caught up to the human who, turns out be a five-year-old child, had almost reached the river.
Suddenly, the puny human child turned and screamed in his squeaky voice of his "wraaaaa!"
This actually startled me a bit, but I paid it no heed and leapt "What is he doing? Have the future generations of the humans become dumb or is he one of those special cases whom they call idiots?" I pondered as I sailed over the idiot human child and rejoiced "luckily I came across a river, now the stupid old fox won't be able to catch me anymore!". Unfurling my tiny wings, I glided across the river.
"Hmph! If only my wings were a little bigger, then I wouldn't have had to wait till this huge ass river and could have just flown away."
----------------end of Fiery Gecko's POV----------------
The lizard leapt and sailed over his head as tiny wings unfurled as it glided away across the raging river.
Celes still leaning forward with one-foot front and knee slightly bent and both his arms stretched backwards, was stuck with a stupefied face at the sudden outcome.
However, this soon changed as he realized why the lizard did what it did.
"That damned lizard was not chasing me! Something else was chasing it!!" Celes cursed at the lizard as he saw the rank 5 snow fox sprint towards him.
Luckily since it was still a bit further away than the lizard, Celes had just enough time to pour all his remaining spiritual energy into his legs and jumped into the river with a "plop!"
----------------Snow Fox's POV-----------------------
"Hey! Fritza darling~ come and get your lunch…mommy dearest is home~" hmmm? "why is she not responding? Did she run away again?" worried, I dropped the dead rank 3 beast fiery gecko which was in my mouth and ran towards my daughter.
On reaching there however, instead of Fritza or an empty stack of fur as I expected, I saw a lone leg and a pool of blood. At this sight, I stand there shocked for a few moments staring at the scene, but suddenly "Sniff! Is that a flame salamander I smell? No!...No!...Nooo!" I sprint towards where the scent is leading me, while trying to convince myself that my child is safe and that the leg I saw back there was not hers.
But I very well know that what I'm hoping for is just a fantasy and what fate awaits my daughter after being caught in the hands of that bastard flame salamander.
After running for almost half an hour, I finally see that bastard swallow her head or what is left of it as it continued to run… "Oh! It noticed me…but it's not going to help you, I'll catch you and tear you from limb to limb as I consume it in front of you, then I'll go for the tail, then the body and finally the head, for what you did to my child, I'll make sure you meet a not so quick and painless death!" a minute later, I see the flame salamander leap over a human child, unfurl its wings before gliding across the river.
"Nooooo!" I screamed as I saw my daughter's assailant get away scot free.
Noticing the human child still there "It's your bad luck child! I guess your death will have to do until I find that damned Lizard!" I thought of blowing some steam by torturing and feasting over the human child since I was still angry over my child's unfair death.
But even that wish went unfulfilled as that child seemed to have been a spiritual master as he filled his legs with enough spiritual energy to jump into the river before I could reach him.
The next instant however I thanked my stars that I didn't kill him, as I realized something crucial and as to why we fear the humans.
"Kill a child, his parents and masters appear, kill them and their clan appears. Kill them too and the kingdom steps in…it goes on till you are either drowned by large numbers or an ancient expert human spiritualist comes and takes your head" I muttered to myself my parents teaching on never to target humans unless you are absolutely sure, and if you do, relocate from that place as far as possible and never return to the site.
That is exactly what I did next as I went around that river in search of the lizard and to get as far away from here as possible.
