Chapter 51 - Wallkin Corner- Samuel’s Adventure (3)

After leaving Alex to munch on what were the Earth equivalent to apples, Samuel left the room. The person (who was definitely a main character) left started slowly getting up to meet Spencer Blanche.

"Can't you just call them apples?"

Never! They are apple-like fruits!!! (ง'̀-'́)ง

"Fine. Just don't make a fuss."

Are you fine about this?

"About what?"

You essentially convinced the him that he's not a protagonist and poured cold water on his ideals.

"It was a necessary task..."

Even though he DOES have plot armour? Just look at what happened tonight... All I got to do is call you to save him whenever he's in a bind or has already died. Isn't convincing him about being realistic about his goals unnecessary to do?

"It isn't. You're grossly underestimating what happened in the pre-retcon timeline, aren't you?"

I'm actually only vaguely aware of what happened back then... After all, I've only come to existence 50 chapters ago. Why are you so adamant on making him give up on his ideals on martial arts?

"Because they are dumb and unrealistic, like I've just explained to him. Anyway, let's not talk about this. I've gotta go check on Malice." Samuel then started to ignore me and teleported to that Killer.

What was the black-haired youth who had beef with the Demon Lord doing? Well, he was just eating a chocolate-like dessert at the modest yet nice Inn he lived at... Brooding about his past.

"Are you going to sit there all day? Didn't you have something you wanted to do, like kill that Cult Leader we both hate the guts of?" Samuel asked the serial killer, who ate with lifeless eyes.

"Hey, this thing isn't making me feel happy. You liar." Malice replied to him nonsensically.

"Don't complain if you don't have anything constructive to say about the dessert. It's good."

"How would you know?"

"The chef here is masterful." The spearman spoke as his stomach rumbled just thinking about the kind of things people of this Inn ate. Though he was surprised when the youth threw the plate with what were essentially cream puffs and walked off.

Samuel followed behind him as he was wondering where the youth was going, only to find him climb up to the streets... Then parkour his way to an even larger roof than the one of that small Inn. He was eating the deserts while watching his actions.

It didn't take that long for him to finally get to the top of a really high building, and what did he do there? Did he used it as a vantage point to watch someone? Did he sit there? Did he jump off?

None of those things happened. Instead, he started tapping feet and snapping his fingers.

Yes... He was breaking into a sudden song! A subversion of events with all the subtlety of a wet paper towel...! Who would've thought that this was the hobby such a guy had in his free time...?

"Sa-Mu-Eeeeelll~!!" Malice sung the first chord as if he was a one man barbershop quartet. Though he didn't have any string instruments on him, his great voice and keen sense of rhythm made it hard for the spearman to not find the tune to be catchy.

"I've been living my life thinking I was the man~ But I have to admit that: I was just a fad~ Who ever knew life would be baaad~ And why must I live when the world is such trash~?" There was one thing he realised when he heard these lyrics:

'Malice has gone crazy.' He saw this coming, but didn't expect it to manifest this way whatsoever.

He accidentally let the info the Berserk Killer was looking for slip and now he couldn't be patient enough to wait until the Battle Theatre opens up. A War of the Arts was being performed right now as the youth was expressing his bottled up emotions.

"Life... isn't so really baaa-aaad~" Samuel casually thought 'screw it' and went along with the musical number. He clapped his hands together with long gaps in order to add his own twist to the rhythm.

The faster tempo made the dreary sounds of foot tapping and fingers snapping more optimistic.

"Look at clear blue sky and feel that warmth~ Let's dye this brand new day with the colours of our hearts~ Trash this world and make it red~ And the colour of roses like blood is shade I meant~" This continuation made Malice's dead heart beat wildly.

But when he thought at clearly, that beat dropped as he swayed his body. The rhythm was still on point as he danced to the edge of the building and looked over, seeing the solid ground beneath him.

"But the world is so coooold~"

"Then dye it warm with his blood~" Samuel's lyrics responded as joined the youth at that edge.

"What if we fail~ What if we fall~!"

"Then make it colder with my blood and have the whole world sold~ A cold-blooded Killer has to be so booold~ Because no man knows what life itself holds~ Take to the heart, yoooh~"

"...Unless your name rhythms with waaarrr-rennn mancelot~" He mumbled in a melodic voice.

But the Berserk Killer didn't hear as he continued:

"Life is so baaaad~"

"Life isn't so baaaad~"

"Life is so saaad~"

"There's fun to be had~"

"But all I want to is be free and fall~"

"Then why not find your dreams before you don't make it all~ You already got out of the house so wipe that frown~ Because when I'm here then there's no need to be so down~ Ya hear~?"

"I feel like I've gained clinical depression~"

"At least it's nothing genetic and can be cured with some oppression~ Just trust me Bro~"

"Not happening~ Yo~" He changed up the best and started to drop some sick beats without a mic!

His head bobbed up and down as approached Samuel while walking on the edge of the rooftop.

"Bro? You think you feel me~? Don't make me laugh! I've been grinding my gears without you since the day I escaped that lab~! Bro, you call me bro? Don't think you feel me! I make all them white coats be dead, you frickin' hear me~?

Don't talk. Step back~ There's shady liquor on my tab... Think I be a punk, ya riiight~ But don't you think I be mad~! I be drinking dreamer pills but God don't let me sleep, and 'brother', when my foot slips, I'll finally be SIX-FEET-DEEP~ Ya see~!

Don't give me a funeral, no ones waiting for me, as a boy with no hood, the Devil is waiting on me~!

For real, this punk ain't crazy. For now, my memory is hazy~ And I rock this show like how the white coats frickin' made me~! Do you feel this? Let me die and dye the world with my own red winter water, because a dirty demon doesn't bleed even when his life is a goner~" Malice rapped with his Murderous Edge pointed towards Samuel, despite using it like a microphone for his sick flow.

"...Don't be chillin' me just because you're not feelin' me~ I've mean cream but they're not these puffs, ya be hearin' me~? I'll take your ass straight to the Church and a-a-ask why God only gave you courage so scarce~!" The spearman stepped up with his own beat and poked the Berserk Killer who no longer had anything to say to him but:

"Life is so baaaad~"

"Life isn't so baaaad~"

"Life is so saaad~"

"There's much fun to be had~ You never know a person until you see him laugh, so come to this side and we'll see what you have~!" He got off the edge and persuaded the youth not to jump off.

This entire time, he had been feigning optimism to persuade the Berserk Killer not to go through with actions. If he died now, that Spirit Essence will start a mess of people killing each other chaotically.

Samuel didn't want needless deaths, so he went along with the musical number all the way until it was near its end. He then waited for the black-haired youth to make a choice. It was either sink or fly...! Either die or help the man with his goals...

Appealing to his killing intent seemed to work as Samuel pondered over those rap lyrics he heard...

The white coats were probably the Researchers he had been killing and the references about the Devil probably had to do with either the Evil God or Alan Stuman. This Berserk Killer seemed experienced with raps and sudden musical numbers out of nowhere. The youth was moved by Samuel and walked away from the end but continued to sing:

"Sa-mu-el~ Samuel~ Does murdering a single evil scoundrel need a hundred and one manuals~?"

"Screw off! I ain't got any blame be had~!"

"Don't mess with me or you'll make me mad~!" A shine went across Malice's knife as he held it.

But just as he they were about to continue squabbling as if they were rap battling, he slurred:

"Errr..." Samuel couldn't think of anything. The beat they were hitting alternated before Malice asked:

"...Why did you stop?"

"I couldn't think of a rhyme."

"Well just say the first thing that pops into your mind." But just after he told him that, someone barged into their musical number. The familiar figure phased out of a shadow in the ground.

Samuel recognised this girl, he had saved her just yesterday from Alan's clutches and didn't expect she'd come here and find them. It looks like the reason she lay low was all for this moment.

The former Mirror Priestess named Fear came onto the scene after formulating her own lines to end their careers. She had been watching from before they started rapping and got a hang of it.

Both of them stopped clapping, making finger snap noises, and tapping their feet, but Fear continued the rhythm by herself as she did all three of those things without accidentally missing a any beats.

"Raise up! The beat flows and stays tough~! You idiots have no skill so you better style up~!"

Samuel: "Hey...!" (ʘдʘ╬)

"I've lived in the shadows and know enough of it to say: brooooding dweebs better walk a-way~!"

Malice: "Hey!" (╬ಠ益ಠ)

"I've rapped so hard you can't sense my mellow mind~ Just one step and we'll be out to ghetto find~! You best be afraid for my shadow walking flows because this girl's gonna own ya till you're at death throes~!" She stopped the beat there.

Fear looked at the stupefied people here... who didn't know how nor why she found them.

Samuel, let me clarify that you aren't the only one with a Space Attribute. There's someone right here who had sensed your teleportations a long time ago and had only been secretly spying on Malice without anyone noticing. She now revealed herself.

...Her entrance only served to give Samuel Goldsun a headache and cause a strange reaction in Malice.

Even though he generally hated all regardless of their race or species, he seemed to feel a strange sense of kinship towards her despite this being their first ever meeting. The masked girl's presence moved him as he could sense her Dark Attribute.

However, Malice wasn't the type to meet a new person and NOT try ruthlessly killing them though.

'I hope you survive this.' The black-haired youth thought his Divine Heart showed off its abilities.

[Advanced Darkening- Killing Impulse!]

A redness appeared in his eyes, but it wasn't due to veins popping on them. Instead, Fear could feel as if they were glowing with savage and murderous intentions. There was something off about the guy now that his Dark Mana covered his body like ink...

Killers didn't fight people. They only 'killed' others with one strike that they put all their efforts into executing. There was a metallic sheen that covered his Murderous Edge as he stepped forward.

[Leg Blackening- Phantom Movement!]

His body disappeared into multiple shadowy silhouettes that approached her at insane speeds without making a sound... She tried to keep up with them with her eyes, but could only instinctively act when the afterimages had made their way to her.

A stabbing sound could be heard as Samuel could see a knife protruding out from her chest and Malice appearing behind her straight after, his blade had pierced her back and through her heart!

The moment this happened, Samuel was ready to use Rewritable Past again despite how Lady Clockwork would probably curse him again if he created a large-scale paradox twice in one night.

He wasn't going to let her die...! Even though she didn't remember him, there was a part of his heart that still saw her as his good friend... Someone he would save even if the world was against it!

[Ninjutsu Skill- Dark Shadow Cicada Substitution!]

This was an extremely small Shadow Movement that barely made her travel two steps, but it was an essential Skill for a Mirror Priestess. She needed ways to keep herself alive if someone like Arthur barged into their Sanctuary and tried to kill her.

"So I was right...!" Malice exhaled as he was being head-locked from behind by a strong grapple.

She was a true Ninja! Not a fake like those with Light Classes, but a Ninja of the Dark Class...!

It took only one elbow to her gut in order to cause her enough pain to let go of his neck, the Advanced Darkening slowly deactivated as he stretched out his hand personally towards her:

"Welcome to the team!"

Samuel, Malice and Fear. Two of three would later become the worst nightmare of the Radiant Sword Mirror Cult as wanted criminals of the Human Empire, but that was all in future, as they were biding their time for now... Hiding their sharp fangs.

The youth's melancholy blew away after meeting her! There was no way NOT for him to be excited.

Fear was an inspiration to him...
