As she sat back, taking small sips from the mug, she thought how surreal it was. The candle light, music, the romantic cabin in the woods, the most gorgeous man sitting across from her, only a few inches from her. The firelight glinting off his red hair created a halo of sorts around him. The play of the shadows on his face made the blade of his nose look sharper. His handsome features were turned into a rugged beauty. He looked up, the blue eyes pale as the light from the fireplace reflected right off them. But Idril had no difficulty in recognizing the desire in them that she knew were a mirror of her own.
He held out hand to her. Wordlessly, she took it. He stood her up and gently pulled her to him. The evocative scent that was unique to him engulfed her. He carried her arms to his shoulders and then placed both his hands on her waist, drawing her even closer. So close, she could feel the heat emanating from him, drawing her in, making her want to shimmy even closer. But he held her slightly away, heightening the sweet anticipating. They started moving slowly to the music.
He led her and she let him, aware of nothing but him. The way his touch seared a delicious shiver at the point where it rested on her waist. The way they were touching yet not quite touching. His blue eyes never wavered from her as they moved in a slow circle around the small intimate spaces of the cabin. Still holding her slightly away, very, very slowly he lowered his mouth on hers.
The first tentative touch of their lips sent a spark through her body. It traveled from their locked lips to the very tips of her toes and suddenly she was on fire. She moaned and involuntarily scooted closer to him, like a magnet. The sharp needles of desire spread through the length of her body which was meshed with his. This time he didn't resist. With a groan he put an arm under her knees and carried her to the bed at the far side of the room.
Releasing her briefly, he asked breathlessly, "Stay with me?" She took him by his ears and pulled his mouth once more over her. No words were required. It was the most natural thing in the world.
