"Wait!!"
"What?"
"Let me eat my apple!"
"Fine.."
Sachi bit into the apple while the other students look at her in dissatisification. She bit the apple 7 more times until only the core is left.
"Well that was boring don't you think so?"
"Yeah! she should've just fought."
The students criticized her actions as spectators of this quite boring match.
"You done now?"
"Yeah sure, in a bit."
Sachi held the core with a very very tight grip.
"Just throw the core already!"
The boy kept complaining.
"Jeez... Fine... You impatient friend."
"When was I ever your friend?!!"
As the boy complained, Sachi ignored him. Instead, she absorbed the magic inside the apple core. The apple rot as the magic in it got absorbed by her. Although rotten, the magic in the apple hasn't fully been absorbed yet. Sachi kept absorbing until the apple fully disappear into thin air.
"Wait what?"
"Is that even possible?"
"What just happened to the apple?"
The students chatter around the logic about the possibilities of turning something into nothing. Sachi was also confused, since she thought she already absorbed all the magic after the apple rotted.
"Wait... That was possible?"
Sachi told herself and asked herself.
Meanwhile, the boy just stood there, awkwardly. He did nothing and even he wasn't impressed. He was getting impatient, to the point that he yelled to everyone.
"ARE YOU GUYS DONE NOW?!!"
The crowd silenced.
"Yeah okay fine we can start now.."
Sachi told him as she called her best friend.
"Leafy!"
...
"What the heck is she talking about?"
"She crazy or something?"
"She really did just turn insane just now."
The crowd all chatter about her craziness and insanity. Everyone thought she was crazy for just shouting "Leafy!" at everyone.
But then...
*Swoosh*
Leaves flew from above the buildings towards Sachi. They floated around Sachi.
"Woah...."
Everyone said as the leaves finally came.
"Alright Leafy, can you like.. help me in here? Cuz I'll be using a lot of magic."
[Okay sure!]
The boy pointed his sword at Sachi.
"So.. can we finally begin? I'VE BEEN WAITING HERE!!"
"Yeah okay we can finally start."
"Then I'll let you do your move."
"Jeez for a grumpy boy you're also quite-"
"JUST START!"
"Okay okay.."
Sachi pointed at the boy and instructed Leafy to
"Grab his sword."
[Okay!]
The many leaves behind her flew in the direction of the boy's sword. It was a short sword that was probably able to be grabbed by the leaves.
While the leaves flew, the crowd became amazed.
"Wait... She didn't recite?"
"She did a spell right?"
"What's with the leaves?"
It was like no one had ever seen the magic spell before, even though it is not actually a spell. But even if that was possible, the leaves should've been scattered around, but Sachi's leaves flew in a linear way.
Meanwhile, the boy right there, doesn't seem to worry much. As the leaves approached the sword, the boy quickly slashed through the leaves, cutting them in half. Leaves are only full of magic when undamaged, if cut or slashed through, they will loose magic in them, making them useless.
The kid slashed through most of the leaves that approached him. Some leaves did make it through though, only some. The leaves only covered a part of the sword's handle, so even if they tried to fly and grab it, the boy still would outpower the leaves.
"Okay... I didn't expect that."
Sachi said as she called onto more leaves. More leaves flew from the sky, towards the sword. Once again, the kid cut through the leaves like it was paper. the leaves that made it covered its metal sharp edge.
"You know? This try... IS USELESS."
The boy peeled off the leaves and sliced through them. But before he could peel all of them off, Sachi remember a spell that she usually uses.
"Harden!"
The leaves that was on the sword hardened. The boy tried to peel it off but, can metal be peeled? He even tried so hard until he made a very very weird pose. He was unable to peel off the hardened leaves.
"AHHH CRAP! What the heck is this thing?!"
"Well, that's what I call... "Hardened Leaves"."
"Oh yeah great naming there girl.."
The leaves that Sachi hardened are still in her control, meaning, unless they are somehow cut, they will always be full of magic.
"Alright stop trying. Now just redirect them and try to knock that sword off his hands."
[Alright!]
The leaves that was latched onto the sword detached themselves and flew swiftly through the air towards Sachi. But before reaching her, the leaves did a sharp turn, which redirected their path. The hardened leaves flew towards the boy in full force.
Before the leaves reached them, the boy slashed them and tried to forcefully cut them in half. Lucky for him, the leaves that flew towards him was not as much as the first wave of attack.
"Ten.."
The boy then slashed them in order from the closest to him to the furthest. But as he slashed thee first leaf,
*Cling*
The leaf didn't split into two, instead it was deflected. The boy felt a force inside the leaf that made his hits less effective.
"It would help if you USE YOUR SWORD FOR ONCE!"
The boy yelled at Sachi.
He kept slashing and slashing one leaf after another, but none of them split.
Meanwhile, the crowd watched in full focus. None were chatting. Some amazed, some confused, and some jealous.
"Hmm... How interesting."
A boy said in front of the crowd. He was also a spectator of the fight. He had blue hair with spiky hair style.
"The new girl, Akama Sachiko. She can analyze and she can be very intelligent at times like this.
Then we have the Boy. The easily-annoyed trash-talking student. Once a friend, now a foe. But he, as a loner he is, is quite strong."
"I'm really rooting for the girl!"
"Me too!"
"I'm also rooting for her! I hope she wins."
Back to the fight, the boy was still slashing and trying to cut those leaves. Seems like nothing can be done with this spell. But then, the boy saw one of the leaves cracked. He realized that he can break those leaves. He slashed hard on one of the leaves.
*Crack Crack*
"It's breaking.."
Sachi, who controlled the magic flow inside those leaves, felt a feeling of a cracking heart for a second. Then she whispered to herself with a worried face.
"... It's breaking.."
The boy then slashed with full force on one of the cracked leaves. It shattered and emitted a silent shattering sound. The boy then kept slashing with full force on the other leaves. One by one, the broke and shattered into pieces.
Sachi knew they were breaking, she felt their magic connection disappear.
"Leafy, examine."
[Examine]
Sachi's view switched to examination view. She looked at her hands. Its flow of magic was yellow.
"Aww great.. Wait.. Have I touched dirt yet? Is there any dirt around here?"
[Near the spectators]
"Great!"
Sachi ran over towards the spectators.
"OHH YOU SCARED OR SOMETHING?!"
The boy shouted at her. But she ignored him.
After a few seconds, she reached ground. She stepped on the ground. Like usual, she felt dizziness as the magic got absorbed. After a second, the dizziness stopped.
Still in examination mode, she looked at her hand.
"Great! Now that my magic is red.. I'll just..."
Her self speech was cut by the amazement and confusion that overwhelmed her when she looked at every other students.
"Green, Yellow, yellow, green, orange, yellow, green... Wait why are they all green and yellows and oranges while mine is red?"
Then she looked at the boy still standing still.
"He is... Red? Like me?"
Sachi went out of examination and started to focus on the fight.
"Leafy, got any more tricks up your sleeves?"
[I don't have sleeves, but I think your magic is enough to do a Leaf Tornado on him.]
"Yeah let's do that."
Sachi called in for more leaves. This time, there were an abundant of leaves. They all form an upside down cone shape in front of Sachi.
"Leaf Tornado!"
The cone then spun around at an amazing speed, creating a powerful wind force. It moved towards the boy.
"AWWW GREAT!"
As the tornado approached the boy, he ran towards it. It seemed like a dumb idea, and it was. Sachi knew she was gonna win, Since, obviously that tornado must've pulled or knocked his sword from his hand.
But the boy had plans. He spun around the tornado, following the wind. Then he was launched in the direction of Sachi. Apparently the boy was lucky enough, since the tornado stopped spinning as he was being blown in the direction of Sachi.
"Oh No!"
The boy positioned his sword in a fitting position, ready for slashing. By this logic, Sachi had no choice but to pull her sword from her sheath.
*Cling*
The swords impacted. While the boy outpowered Sachi, he was in the air. His full force slash only pushed him back. He landed a perfect landing with 2 feet.
"It seems like you can't use any more magic"
"Are you gonna do any ma-"
"Now we're even."
"Even?!"
"Now LOOSE!"
The boy ran at Sachi and slashed his sword at full force. This fight just turned into a sword duel. Though the boy outpowered Sachi's strength, Sachi outsmarted his attacks. When the boy attacked, Sachi either evaded or just outright got out of the slashing zone as she blocked the slash.
*Clink Clink Clink Clink*
The fight kept going on. Though they seem to have no advantage over the other, the boy slashed at full force every time, which in the long run will affect his energy to fight.
"A slow and even pace is probably better since you're using full force."
"What the heck are you talking about you little crap! You're just trying to manipulate me to stop aren't you?"
"No.. I'm just giving tips and stuff."
"SHUT UP!"
*Clink Clink Clink*
Meanwhile, the crowd was very very silent. They kept thinking on who was gonna win. Since the fight is even, there's no telling on who will knock the other's sword off.
After many many slashes, the boy started to huff and puff. He started to sweat.
"If you're tired just stop, I won't force you though."
"SHUT UP! I'LL WIN THIS!"
"Okay.. fine.."
As minutes went by, the metal impact sound still continued. The fight for Sachi is tiring on her minds since she had to think fast every attack. It was also physically tiring for the boy, he kept swinging with full force every time. The boy then downgrade his force every a few or so slashes.
Sachi felt a pattern. She inspected that every 5th slash, the boy would hit with less force than other hits. This was great since with that less force, she can try to knock that sword off. So she counted.
one... two.. three... four... NOW!
On that slash, Sachi forcefully with all her strength blocked and tried to deflect his attack. The boy fell on the ground.
*Clink*
"What the-"
"Hehe.."
The sword got knocked off his hands and it flew a few meters away. It seems the victor here is the new girl, Sachi.
"I win.."
"WHAT THE HECK?! THIS IS BULLCRAP!"
"Woah.. stop your cursing."
Sachi held out her hand to help the boy stand up.
"Now why don't we-"
As she was speaking, the boy hit her hand and stood up on his own. After standing up, he pushed Sachi until she fell down.
The crowd gasped in shock.
The boy didn't say anything. Sachi also didn't say anything. But Sachi felt anger because he pushed her, but she wanted to befriend this boy for some weird reason.
The boy left in anger.
*KRRIIIIIIIIIIIING*
"Well that was great timing"
the crowd then ran towards Sachi. They all offered to help her.
"Let me help you stand up."
"Cmon get up and stand"
Some people said.
"It's okay.."
Sachi stood up.
"I can stand up on my own."
The crowd then started to talk about their hatred towards the boy.
"Yeah that boy is just a trash talker. I hate him"
"I HAATE THAT BOY!"
"OMG that boy is so annoying, I wish he could go to Hell."
Right as the person said "Hell", Sachi stopped everyone's chitter-chatter.
"WOAH WOAH WOAH! No need for that bad of a word. What did he even do to make you guys hate him so much?"
"We uh.. we don't wanna talk about it."
"Why don't you?"
The crowd went silent.
"I wanna know why you guys hate him so much. That's why for now, I'll befriend him until some bad things happens."
Sachi left the scene and walked into the school.
"She doesn't know why she doesn't wanna hate him."
"One day she'll hate him for sure."
The crowd all came back into the class for the next session.
In Sachi's minds, she tried to theorize why people hate him. Was it greed? or some kind of other bad thing?
"This is just a weird first day of academy."
