Chapter 2 - Invitation (Part 2)

'Welcome, Player 625'

"What the hell?" is all that he could say.

He doesn't understand who it's welcoming and why. Or is it him? He don't know. He never remembered about agreeing to participate on this event, and what does it mean by player 625? Is it some code or that's the current number that was given because he's the 625th to enter the site? If that's it then he knew that he's not the only one who experienced the computer almost crashing. And that gave him temporary relief. He might deny it to himself, but he doesn't want to be the one who's experiencing failures only.

He took deep breaths after calming himself from what just happened. He knew that this isn't just some sort of hacking to intrude because he haven't received alerts from his firewalls breaking down just yet. Or is there someone who is capable of entering other people's softwares without being noticed? The thought of it makes the young man shiver in both fear and excitement. Fear for the hacker to take all of his game data and excitement because he'll get to learn more about how the other side do his thing.

He brought himself back in front of the monitor and studied it.

Before he get to touch the mouse control, the screen suddenly changed displays. He is now being directed to the 'real platform' for registrars. As said on the screen.

After a few loads, the screen displayed a site--a homepage for the game. He frowned after realizing that the mail is not actually JUST a prank.

Then what about all the fuss before? Is it really because of the link or someone tried to hack him the same time as when he's busy?

He explored the site and tapped all the available icons displayed. The site theme is dark and has red glitches everywhere, but the glitches are designs only, it doesn't bother you even though it is everywhere. The font is like a hand-written design and most icons are colored green. He didn't know if it's just him or this theme really gives off a different atmosphere.

He clicked the 'forum' icon and read all the topics being discussed.

'Welcome to the forum, dear players!'

'New Game Updates'

' Real Life RPG? Is now possible!!'

'New players, Introduce yourselves'

'I recieved a card as an invitation'

'24th Hour News'

'How To Cheat Game'

'Is Your Personal Information Safe'

'My Computer Crashed While Loading The Site'

'How Do I Delete My Account From This Game'

He continued scrolling and found that many people already registered themselves on this game.

He scrolled up again and clicked the topic "My Computer Crashed While Loading The Site". The topic was posted three days ago. He scrolled down to see that all the replies are almost the same, saying that they all experienced the same when loading it too. He tried replying to them, "Maybe it was a bug or something". After a few seconds he was notified that 73 people already liked his reply.

'Wow that was fast' he thought. Maybe most players registered are online this time.

He pressed the backspace and clicked another topic, "Real Life RPG? Is Now Possible!!" and read the content.

'I registered to this game 2 weeks ago as the first batch of players. By the time I came here, there is not much information about how to play the game, what the rules are, and how to delete your account-- or is it even possible. And not knowing anything, I tried researching and experimenting about the site and what the game's objective is. (because as you can see, there isn't anything that you can find about how to play this.) What do we do and what's with all the computer glitches are about.

Yes, I spent two weeks researching it all but sadly, only few are solved. I don't know how to deactivate or delete your account from this game, or if do you even have one. I can't even find who the developers of this "game" are and who they are. I just know that they are both suspicious and amazing.

I am confident In my hacking skills because if you may not know, I am DXC472, the hacker that topped second as the most skilled hackers in Asia.' Yes, he knew who DXC472 is. He once attacked the firewalls this guy built but it was just too secured he can't even destroy one. He continued reading.

'I also knew that most players that are currently registered here are all hackers. Why? Because a friend of mine who is also both good at hacking and gaming recieved the same game invitation. He also tried deleting his account here because he said the letter seemed so suspicious, it didn't gave us enough information on how to play this, but he also can't-- or maybe we just don't have enough reason to actually find ways thoroughly.

I've been also searching what RLRPG really means and if it is even possible to play RPG without any head gears. controls, and equipments-- and yes it really is. Though it told me that the developers are going to deliver some sort of "things" to us (I don't know what kind of things they'll be delivering. I just hope that the packaging doesn't have a suspicious design for my family not to question me AND FREE lol).' the young man scratched his neck and stretched his back before he continued reading it.

'And it also said that we still have to wait until there are 1000 players that are currently registered. So yes, maybe we'll have to wait for another two or three days before the official launching of game starts. It actually won't take very long because I think the developers spread the invitations worldwide. How did I know all this even if it wasn't stated in anywhere on this site? Just type "HDMBR 3Q+W @/uppTME" on the search bar and you'll see the message I was talking about.'

He also tried typing it on the search bar and it really is there. He tried skimming it eventually just scrolled to the bottom. The message was too long for him to waste his time reading it all. He felt glad that this guy who discovered the message first explained it short to the forum or else he will be wasting another three or more minutes just reading it. He visited that topic again and continued reading the last words.

'And also if you might not know you could also try typing these words on the comment section below and experience what I also had during my 2 weeks of hacking into this game site. Goodluck everyone and may this game be successful and fun.'

"Bloodlust Revival"

After reading it all he clicked the comment section and found out that noone commented on this topic. He also looked at how many likes are on the topic and found that 700+ players had already read this, and it was posted 5 days ago. but why is there no comments on this topic and the other posts have? As his curiosity enveloped him and the last words on the message piqued his interest even more, he tried typing the words on the comment section.

The tapping of the keyboard created sounds that broke the room's silence. As he posted the words he just entered, a small circle popped out at the center of the screen.

It was the loading icon. Even this has a weird design. 'Cute' he thought.

After few seconds of circling, his comment disappeared. Instead, another message popped out on his computer.

"Thank you, dear player. Welcome to the new world."

"Huh?" is all that he could say. He didn't understand what it meant. and where did the comment he typed just a few seconds ago go?

After that, he heared another sound-- or more like a voice. He looked at where the closed curtains are thinking that his neighbor is making a fuss again, but there's no sign of people walking past in front of his window fence.

He tried locating the sound again and found that it was coming from the headphones.

Him being a curious fellow, he grabbed his headphones and looked back at the screen for a second. The display it shows is still the same, the comment section of that topic.

He wore the headphones and listened to the sounds but he didn't understand anything. It was like there are lots of people talking behind the microphone.

He was about to remove it from his ears when he suddenly felt light-headed.

"What the?--" He don't know why, but he suddenly became dizzy.

He felt his face slammed on the desk and felt the cold surface and heat coming from the computer together. He heard the other side saying words that he understood and became confused for a second before closing his eyes.

The young man lost consciousness and fell asleep.
