Synopsis

Chapter 1 - Conflict (Prologue)

The setting sun lit up the sky with a fiery orange hue.

In a certain prestigious school, almost all rooms were vacant and the students were slowly heading out the front gate. Off to do their own thing, be it to go home or have some "fun".

In today's society, money made the world go round which allowed these rich second generation youngsters to be able to do whatever they wanted. Be it visiting red-light districts, wasting their cash away on gambling or throwing luxurious parties.

Anything was possible to them for being born fortunate. Blessed with what others desire so badly that one would turn to desperate means just for a few stacks of green bills.

Almost all classes in the school were void of students, except for one particular class. Class 2-B.

He hated the nobility and the rich due to being oppressed by them.

Grant Simmons was one of the students in that particular section. His hair was akin to a sunset, a mix of light yellow and orange. Possessing golden sharp eyes that shone lightly in the dark, his brows were currently furrowed.

"Daniel hold it in. Do not explode..." Grant gently spoke to a dark-haired youth sitting beside him. He was worried about his good friend's emotions.

Daniel rarely let emotions cloud his mind. He was like a fox who playfully gazes at things, fussing over things that piqued his interest and cunningly formulating a plan to maximize his own benefit from things.

It was hard to earn his trust and so far, only Grant was his friend in this classroom of elites.

The black-haired youth gritted his teeth and clenched his fists further. He and Grant were witnessing the betrayal of Daniel's lover, Natasha Williams.

The class president and his social circle were hanging around Natasha, playfully flirting with her which caused Daniel's mood to worsen.

"Nats why don't you come over to our place and watch a few movies with the bros?"

Upon hearing such an invitation, Natasha merely glanced at Daniel whose eyes were pleading for her to not go. The woman in question merely smiled ruefully before uttering a soft yes to the tall handsome youth with golden hair.

BANG! Someone couldn't help but slam their fists into the brown colored table.

"Daniel!" Grant called out in anxiousness as he knew that Daniel wouldn't be able to endure anymore. The boy in question shot him with a fierce look before sighing.

"COREY YOU BITCH!" Daniel incensed, he practically lunged at the class president with reckless abandon. The latter snickered before gesturing to his goons to slam a metal bat at the incoming threat.

Grant wasn't having any of it and he stood up and quickly ran to his friend, out speeding him and raising his right hand to grasp the falling cold metal bat.

PA! A crisp wet slapping sound echoed throughout the room, awakening Daniel from his rage and his eyes widened upon seeing grant single-handedly blocking baseball bat with his bare hand.

"Grant!"

"I'm fine..." Grant waved off Daniel's worries and clenched his hand. The metal bat bent under his strength and he yanked it out of the batter's hand.

The bent metal bat flew across the air and made a clattering noise upon hitting the cold stone floor.

The class went quiet and some people issued out protests. Saying that such violence wasn't necessary. And others were amused and wanted to see Grant fight.

"Looks like the orphan really is strong." Corey muttered while examining Grant who didn't look injured at all. His hand wasn't the least bit damaged from a strike coming from a skilled batter wielding a heavy Damascus steel metal bat. Not to mention but the boy even bent it like it was nothing.

The two sides hated each other greatly. Since joining the class, everyone looked down on Grant for being of an average background. All except Daniel who was curious about him.

Everyone soon knew of his inhuman strength and durability that shocked everyone. Tearing metal bars apart and shrugging off strikes from a group of baseball batters.

Corey Graham, the class president took an interest in him and wanted to turn him into his underling. Only to be refused by Grant.

The arrogant boy was offended. He does not take no for an answer and he proceeded to make life hard for the offender. Grant endured everything thrown at him while he grew to hate Corey.

Grant simply had no time to deal with such things. He worked multiple part-time jobs and he was mature enough to ignore insults hurled at his way.

"Daniel let's just head on home. No need to waste time fussing over a slut and some rich gigolos." Grant sharply spat out while dragging his companion's hand. Only to hear the clicking of a gun behind them.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Three shots in succession shot towards Daniel while Grant made sure to cover Daniel with his body, using it as a shield. Grunting in pain and not expecting such a thing like being shot to happen, he quickly turned around and was about to dash over and tear the class president asunder.

But he was deterred by that gun which pointed straight at his forehead. Like a reaper's scythe, it hung above him, threatening to take away his life in one fell swoop.

Although he was blessed with an abnormally strong body, there was no way he could survive getting shot in the head. Such a thing would kill anyone even an abnormal like him.

"My apologies Grant but my hand couldn't help but slip. You know my hand gets all slippery when something foul reaches my ears remember." Corey laughed merrily while ignoring the terrified looks given to him by his colleagues.

These students knew that Corey Graham was an arrogant prick who was the son of a politician. he could get away with murder and had no qualms doing such a thing. But this was the first time that he openly shot someone in public.

The girls wanted to scream and some fell to their knees, vomiting upon the sight of Grant bleeding even though he stood there like he wasn't too affected.

"Grant!!!" Daniel cried out and supported Grant who fell down and was starting to lose too much blood. He held his dear friend and blood clung to his school uniform, staining it and his hands red.

"Ah.. Ah.. AHHHHH!!!!"

Daniel trembled and he screamed at the top of his lungs. The girls started screaming as well and the guys panicked. Chaos ensued in the class while Corey got more irritated.

"SHUT UP!" His loud booming roar froze everyone and sealed their mouth shut. They were afraid, they couldn't help but picture themselves in Grant's situation. Shot and bleeding badly.

"What the fuck Graham????" A pudgy looking fat youth screamed at the class president. He was Kent Clemons, another arrogant rich boy within the class.

For the most part, he was useless. Just some wastrel who loved spending money. If he wanted something, he would keep on throwing money at it until he gets it. And some times he hires some men to deal with people who irks his eyes.

Kent was a major coward and seeing blood and a gun at the same time made his mind spin. Out of fear that some school staff would discover them, he tackled Corey who looked like he wanted to shoot Grant some more.

Although he was another rich asshole he wasn't that stupid. If news spread that a friend of his and the son of a politician shot someone, he would get in trouble for being the one who gave Corey a gun in the first place.

He didn't expect that a gift for self-defense would be used for open bloody murder.

"Shut up Kent. Let me do my thing!" Corey slapped Kent who grew fearful upon remembering who he was dealing with. Not to mention that the person had a gun and was pointing it at him now.

"Let this be a lesson for all of you here. No one insults Corey Graham and gets away with it!" Corey stood up and screamed, he was nervous as well due to having shot someone and have a lot of people surround him.

He grew fearful that one of these idiots would revolt against him or file a complaint. Even if he will get away scot-free, his father would tear him to shreds upon hearing what he had done.

A politician can't have his name stained due to his son's actions. It would damage his reputation.

"Daniel get out of here!" Grant woke up from his daze and shouted at Daniel in distress. Daniel would be targeted if he didn't leave soon.

"Corey Grahams you are a goddamn idiot! No wonder your father hates you! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A DISAPPOINTMENT!" Grant Barked loudly and forcibly stood up, his stature grew wobbly and he was trembling.

"Yo- You... YOU!!!!" Corey wanted nothing more than to shoot the brute dead. He looked like he was about to have a seizure from the way veins bulged from his face.

Grant could feel cold seep into his bones and warmth to slowly trickle out of his body. Daniel gritted his teeth and pulled out a gun, pointing it at the class president. His face contorted into a fierce expression and his hands holding the gun trembled.

Most of these rich students had guns or some sort of weapon in their possession. And Daniel was part of that majority.

" FUCK OFF COREY OR I WILL SHOOT!" Daniel shouted and Corey merely snorted before pulling the trigger.

BANG! Gunshots rang out once more and bullets flew toward the two.

"Get down!" Grant shouted while grabbing Daniel by the collar. He rolled to the ground and dragged Daniel with him. Tossing him aside and Grant reoriented himself.

Things were getting too dangerous for his taste.

"Die!" A bullet flew out of the gun's muzzle and Kent smiled smugly. Grant didn't have enough time to react and dodge, his mind blanked as he saw a small nail sized object to fly towards his eyes.

As the sun was setting, it reached halfway. Half of the sun was submerged into the horizon and the world was dyed in a true crimson color.

Time seemed to grow sluggish for everyone and two separate pentagrams of light riddled with strange markings lit up underneath the students.

One was smaller and the other was bigger. The smaller circle laid directly underneath the frozen Grant who noticed such a strange thing.

While the other circle had everyone else in the class in it.

Light flickered and the students disappeared from the room. Right before the eyes of an old janitor who rushed to check class 2-B upon hearing gunshots. His jaw hung open and his eyes nearly fell off their sockets.

The bullet that was threatening to kill off Grant flew towards the janitor. It pierced his head and he laid on the floor dead.

Just like that, a whole class disappeared in an instant. And no one was there to witness such a thing. What remained was the corpse of an old janitor with an open hole in his head.
