'Three years' have passed since the incident with the werewolf. Sky was currently fighting a level eight female monster.
This level eight female monster belonged to one of the strongest snake type monsters, The Lamina Monster.
This Lamina was the guardian of the ninth floor and Sky had to defeat her to get into the tenth floor. His eyes were cold as he wielded his sharp knife and parried blows with the level eight Lamina.
Sky's body had long since reached level seven during these three years and he was unrivaled under the same level. But he did not seem to be winning against this level eight Lamina.
The most frustrating thing was, every time he puts a small distance to catch a breath, the Lamina would use her secret art, 'vicious gaze.'
'Vicious gaze.' This secret art of the Lamina only took effect when targeted towards the eyes. It blinded his eyes for a few seconds. In this few seconds, the Lamina would attack him numerous times damaging his perfect body.
He could only cope up with the Lamina due to his left hand constantly healing him. He fought for hours together, but the Lamina did not seem to be weakening.
After a whole day of fighting, Sky's stamina started to run out. Seeing that he had no hope in defeating the level eight Lamina this way, Sky sighed.
"Let them out." Sky said to his left hand. In a minute thousands of foxes appeared before the dumbfounded Lamina.
She then chuckled, "Now that you are not able to defeat me, are you going to use numbers?"
The Lamina was actually shocked inside her heart to see thousands of foxes who had reached level five, with someone foxes having reached level six, but she did not show it on her face.
Sky stretched his hands, a crackling sound came out as his stiff bones relaxed. He looked coldly at the Lamina as he answered. "I will be enough."
Before the Lamina could even hear his words, Sky was already before her, waving his sharp knife. The Lamina was taken aback by his speed and hastily waved her tail to block his ruthless slash.
Sparks flew in air as he continued to slash, each slash was faster, more precise and done with the intention to kill. The Lamina waved her scaly hands and her snake tail to defend against his powerful approach.
The prey she had been toying with for the past one day, suddenly became too much for her to handle. He was faster, stronger and more ruthless now.
The Lamina finally understood that Sky had been using her as a practice target for the past one day. She was enraged, but helpless under his constant attacks.
She endured his attacks as she prepared to put some distance between her and use her 'Vicious Gaze'. This time she would go for the head when Sky's vision distorts. She was going for the kill this time.
But she had underestimated Sky, no matter how fast she was, she was not able to put up any distance between them. Sky was just too fast for his own sake.
Sky suddenly felt a poison entering his body. He looked at the Lamina's face which had a cunning smile and understood what just happened.
The Lamina had used her survival innate ability. 'Invisible poison'. This survival innate ability of hers allowed her to release a type of invisible poison from her body's sweat pores.
This ability was very useful when she fights in close combat. She would poison the enemy, while the enemy was still unaware. Once her opponent was poisoned, it would be very easy for her to defeat him.
But she had chosen the wrong opponent to use her ability on this time. Sky continued to attack her as he asked his left hand to remove the poison. The Lamina did not know the existence of Sky's left hand.
Sky felt a portion of energy reducing from his left hand while the poison was neutralized. He felt this change and smiled.
When he first stepped into the seventh level, he found that he was able to sense the amount of energy he had in his left hand. This energy was the thing his left hand used to carry out all of it's functions.
Sky took a 'drop of level one God's blood' as reference and assigned it as one energy unit. He then compared it to the amount of energy he had left in his left hand.
For example, ten drops of level one God's blood gave him ten energy units. While a drop of blood essence of a level six monster only gave half an energy unit.
Every day, hundred energy units were consumed to nourish Carnage's body, while it took thousand energy units to maintain Mey's soul.
Currently he had about two million, three hundred thousand(2,300,000) Energy Units. It only took ten drops of energy units to dispel the Lamina's poison.
Seeing that Sky was still fine after she used her 'invisible poison', the Lamina became dejected. She desperately tried to increase the distance between them, but Sky's ruthless movements which aimed to kill had restricted her motion.
It only took Sky an hour to totally exhaust the Lamina. He put his knife on her smooth neck indicating that she had lost.
Seeing that she had lost, the Lamina sighed!
"You can go. But they can't." She said pushing away Sky's knife from her neck. She did not feel anything after she lost, after all she was a guardian and there were bound to be people who would win against her.
She only had emotions when she fought, Her emotions were what saved her life numerous times in battle. But now that she was not fighting, she became cold, without displaying any emotions.
Sky nodded. He waved his hand and retrieved the foxes into his arm. His second space was as large as a 'territory' now and it contained all of Sky's spoils from the previous floors.
In these three years Sky had found that it had become increasingly difficult for him to level up as his level increased. Even when he used all the energy he had in his left, it only increased Sky's physique and did not raise his level.
So he started using the energy in his left arm to supplement the growth of the foxes. In three years, most of the foxes had reached level five under Sky's left arm's energy, while some foxes outdid themselves and reached level six.
Now a days, They would mostly stay in his left arm and cultivate hard to reach higher levels. With Sky's left arm providing energy for their breakthroughs and the natural talent of the foxes, who were offsprings of a level six Goddess, leveling up became a lot more easier.
Seeing Sky return the foxes into his arm, the Lamina squinted her eyes. She had already told that she would not allow the foxes, but Sky seemed to discard it.
At least he tried to cover it up by retrieving them inside. If he just barged in, She would have become even more furious.
She looked coldly at Sky as he stepped on to the stairs. "The tenth floor is different from all the other floors. Make sure to be careful. After all, in this world you can only be more careful, not enough careful." She said, her voice plain.
Sky turned around to face her beautiful face and smiled. "Why are you telling me this? Are you worried about me? Ahh! I am just too handsome! This poor snake could not help but fall in love at first sight." Sky could discard anything, but not his shamelessness.
"Hump! Die for all i care." The Lamina turned away from him. She had returned to the state of cold blooded guardian once again.
Sky smiled and walked up the stairs. He already knew how dangerous the tenth floor was. The four tailed fox had mentioned it a lot of times when they were caught by the werewolf.
The tenth floor of the dungeon was very special. In fact, the twentieth floor, thirtieth floor,..., hundredth floor were all special.
The tenth floor of the dungeon was a whole plane. All the tenth floors of the seven dungeons represent only one plane.
In other words, the tenth floor was a plane that is shared by all the dungeons. This plane was divided into seven huge kingdoms that are ruled by a half step God( peak level nine monster) each.
These seven kingdoms were the representation of tenth floor of each dungeon. These seven kingdoms are separated by a vast wasteland, which was being inhabited by monsters that do not have intelligence.
Only monsters who had intelligence were able to become gods. Those monsters who did not have intelligence take a different path and it was said that, they were even more powerful than Gods of similar levels.
The stairs from the ninth floor of the Red Dungeon lead to the Red Kingdom. Sky stepped into the Red kingdom and breathed on its air. The mana here was ten times better than the ninth floor.
But compared to the Energy from his second space, it still lacked.
Mana was the purest form of the Energy that was released when the dungeons appeared. Monsters absorb Mana and temper their bodies with it, thus raising in levels.
One of the reasons the monsters of high level preferred the higher floors was the availability of higher concentration of mana.
As soon as Sky entered the tenth floor of the Red Dungeon, the Red kingdom, he saw a board that pointed to the nearest town.
Unlike the previous floors where monster colonies were more preferred, the tenth floor preferred the king system.
Danger was present everywhere in the tenth floor and forming colonies without a half step God would only lead to quick destruction.
A half step God was rarer than the number of five leafed clowers. So how could a single colony contain a half step God.
The kingdoms also prevented monsters from forming colonies and gaining strength. Since a small colony could never compare to a huge kingdom, the colonies were eliminated long before they could even take form.
One of the greatest dangers possessed by the tenth floor were constant invasions from the Demons.
These attacks usually occurred periodically letting the monsters prepare for their attack.
The Gods from higher floor were also able to guess the location of the attacks. They would send a messenger as soon as they found the location, thus letting the monsters prepare accordingly.
These were the only two reasons that the tenth floor still belonged to monsters.
If it was otherwise, this floor would have already been a home to the demons.
...
Sky had walked for an hour before a large board appeared in his sight. 'Welcome to Sunrise town' the board read.
Sky could see the buildings a little away from the board.
He smiled and took a step in. "Sunrise town, here comes your handsome Sky."
"Hump! Don't go around seducing girls!" A cold voice came out of his left hand.
Sky laughed, embarrassed. He had a fleeting thought of increasing the number of women in his harem today. But it seems, the task was more dangerous than what he estimated. He smiled flatteringly, "How can I? I just wanted to announce that 'your' handsome Sky was entering the sunrise town. After all, this body belongs to you, my dear Artha."
"Hump! If your body's mine, what about sister Carnage." Artha had no intentions to let Sky off.
Sky was speechless at her words.
[ ahh! It's true that you can't match a women in dialogue. I give up, my beautiful.]
