Harpy queen and the thirteen harpies behind her looked at the approaching Sky and Carnage with cold eyes.
Just like everyone else they blamed Carnage and their hunting team for bringing up this disaster on them.
It was the first time Sky was seeing the harpy queen. She looked beautiful and young and Sky even felt the aura of a level one monster from her.
He then shifted his attention to the thirteen harpies behind her. He sensed their auras and found that there was another harpy at level one, while the others were on the verge of breaking through.
Carnage gestured him to put her down but Sky did not listen. He carried her in his arms not letting her leave him for even a second.
Seeing this, the harpy queen frowned. Her plan would be spoiled if this human interfered, so she was thinking of ways to make him stay out of her plan.
She moved forward and said directly to Carnage, "Carnage, while it was true that you killed the wolf king in defense of your life, it doesn't change the fact that you brought this disaster upon the colony."
Carnage nodded her head. She was still in Sky's arms but she really felt it was her fault that the level two wolf started attacking the colony. So she nodded her head without refuting the queen.
"Since you know that this is your fault, do you know what you have to do?" The harpy queen asked.
Carnage nodded her head, "Since it was my fault that the colony suffered from the level two wolf, I will take responsibility." She said.
The harpy queen was happy that Carnage felt guilty. Now she could implement her plan.
"Since you know that this your fault and you are ready to take responsibility, let's go." The harpy queen gestured towards the back of her home tree and started walking.
Carnage was confused by her actions. By responsibility she meant that she would kill the level two wolf, but the harpy queen seemed to have different thoughts.
She wanted to tell the harpy queen about her thoughts but Sky suddenly stopped her. "Let's see how she wants you to take responsibility." He said with a smile.
Carnage nodded her head softly and did not talk anymore. Sky walked behind the harpy queen with Carnage in his arms, while the other thirteen followed behind them.
The harpy queen took them to the place behind the tree and Sky saw a familiar scene.
In front of them was huge altar. The harpy queen slowly walked upon the altar and looked at Carnage.
"What is the meaning of this?" Sky asked.
The harpy queen once again frowned, she did not want this human to interfere with her plan.
She also did not dare kill him. Humans were protected by the higher level monsters and killing one could bring a colony destroying disaster upon them.
She turned and looked at Carnage who was in Sky's arms. "Give me the black knife" she said ignoring Sky's question.
Sky felt something was strange with the harpy queen, but when Carnage looked at him, he took out the black knife and handed it to the harpy queen.
The harpy queen took the knife and then looked at the thirteen who nodded at her.
Seeing the thirteen move towards him, Sky immediately became vigilant. "What is the meaning of this?" He shouted at the harpy queen.
The harpy queen shook her head, it seems like this human was more troublesome than she thought.
"We don't mean any harm to you. We only want Carnage." She said.
"What do you need Carnage for?" He asked with more caution apparent in his eyes.
Sigh! The harpy queen looked at this human and made a tough decision. If Sky really wanted to spoil her plans, she would kill him.
"We need her to perform the sacrifice to the Harpy God." She said coldly.
"And what will you gain in return?" Sky's caution reduced a lot when he heard that Carnage was going to be sacrificed.
[ Seems like it was just a simple sacrifice, that's nothing new. Phew! they got me worried for a second.]
If the harpy queen was hell bent on sacrificing Carnage, he could just flee from here with Carnage. After all Carnage was too powerful now and no body could stop her if she really wanted to leave.
He did not leave immediately so that he could let Carnage experience the cold blood of her colony. This way she would discard her innocent nature and mature.
Carnage was currently curled up in Sky's arms. As soon as she heard that her colony had prepared to sacrifice her, she lost all the trust she had on them.
Now she did not want to see their faces. She was scared that she would lose herself to anger if she looked at them for one more second.
Only Sky's chest felt warm to her in this dark world. She just closed her eyes and enjoyed his warmth to discard the darkness around.
What will I gain in return? The harpy queen did not ponder on this question as she convinced herself to kill Sky if required. she was now more carefree with her answers.
"A level two body." The harpy queen answered Sky's question.
"Even If you gain a level two body, you still would not be able to match a level two wolf. So how do you plan to stop the level two wolf when he attacks?" Sky asked again.
"That's none of your business. Leave Carnage now and I will spare your life." The harpy queen was quite irritated by his questions.
She was the harpy queen, she did not answer her people, she ordered them. Yet this human repeatedly made her answer his questions. This made the harpy queen quite irritated.
"Seems like there is something you don't wish to tell me." Sky had already noticed the presence of wolves near them. This made him take wild guess.
This guess was too wild that even he could not believe he was able to guess it.
