Chapter 3 - The Dungeon Lord learned how to use his hands

My forehead was almost bleeding when I finally noticed the biggest flaw in my plan of Summoning some help. Lack of Material.

To summon Rock Worms I needed half a ton of granite.

To summon Goblin Miners I needed all goblin materials plus a mining tool kit.

To summon Working Ants I needed a lot of white fungus.

To summon the simplest Golem worker I needed and ancient core and many rare metals.

I couldn't even summon a flower fairy because I would need a flower of the same color of the fairy I want.

After looking for hours, I didn't find a single creature I could summon.

Then it finally dawned me why no monster was listed when I asked the Core for Monsters available for summon. It was not an error nor a wrong command, it was because there was no material.

I scratched the back of my head and looked down.

"Damn, it seems that I am on my own..."

Taking a deep breath, I look back at the Dungeon Core.

"Well, time to use my head again, let's try the build and modify option..."

[Understood!]

[Activating building mode...]

[Building mode activated]

[Please state your command.]

"Great but how do I use this? I wish for some help or tutorial..."

[Understood!]

[Loading building mode tutorial...]

"Wait!? There really is a tutorial!? What about the other modes???"

[Building mode tutorial loaded]

[Call play to begin...]

Hmm, it seem this thing ignores new commands before the last command is complete...

"Play!"

The lights went off almost giving me a heart attack, then a second latter, just like the old projector used in my old school, the crystal started projecting the tutorial in the wall.

"This is cool and all but I wonder why it didn't just show it inside the crystal..."

"Hello young Avatar!"

Suddenly a voice came from the walls giving me another scare. Please take note that this is the first time hearing anything but myself since I got here! My ears were so sensitive I could hear even a bronze coin falling on the ground...that is, if I had a bronze coin.

A beardless gnome appeared in the projection wearing teacher robes.

"This tutorial was made to instruct you in the Building feature of your Dungeon Core."

"Beardless...Gnome...???"

Ignoring my shocked look, it started its presentation. Thinking back I would be more shocked if it had actually answered. Anyway, if you are wondering why I was shocked... it's a story for another time.

"Please pay attention because I'm going to say this only once!"

I put all my focus on the projection.

"Is what I want to say, but this is a recording so you can watch it as many times as you need."

And just like that all my concentration was broken. Sigh....

"As soon as you turned on the Building mode you should have noticed the walls being covered by mana. If you can't see it, it's advisable for you to go practice your Mana Sight skill."

What the hell is the Mana Sight skill??

"Anyway, looking at the walls you will notice the mana in 4 different colors. Blue, Yellow, Red and Black."

"The Blue represents walls that are safe to dig."

"The Yellow represents walls that are hollow. That can be a natural cave or another room of the Dungeon."

"The Red represents walls that are dangerous to dig. That means something dangerous is on the other side of the wall, such as lava, water and sand. It can also mean that a potential danger will be triggered if you dig it. Anyway, unless you are absolutely sure about what you are doing, DON'T TOUCH IT!"

"The Black are walls that aren't under the Dungeon core influence, so they can only be dug after expanding the Dungeon, or with the help of other means like explosives or manual digging."

"Easy right? Next, lets learn how to dig the walls."

Finally!!!

"To dig the walls you need to push them with your mana."

"To do that, just focus on your mana core and direct the mana to both your hands like you do when dealing with the Dungeon Core."

My ears twitched, my eye opened wide and my mouth opened but no sound got out of it.

Wait, what!?

"Next put your palms on the wall you want to dig and draw a panel with your hands in the wall."

"Finally, when the panel has taken the form you desire, push the panel against the wall"

"And the walls will react creating a hole in the same format as the panel you pushed against it."

"Great right? Well that's all..."

The gnome turned around and started leaving, the projection turned dark and...

"Actually, it's not! There is still a few details left!"

It appeared again, with sparkling eyes, more energetic than ever!

"As you dig walls, all material extracted will be automatically transported to the Dungeon Core storage."

"If you pull instead of push the panels, as long as there is enough material, you will be able to create a wall on the place the panel was located."

"And all this is possible thanks to the miracles of beardless gnome's technology!"

"Take that stupid bearded dwarfs! WE RULE!!!"

"That's all, happy digging! ;p "

The tutorial finally ended, the lights turned on again but I didn't even notice as I was too busy trying out how to direct the mana flow from my forehead to my hands. After this bit of guidance I finally got what I was doing wrong, I was trying to use the mana in the air instead of using the one stored in my body, or more exactly, in my mana core. Now that I knew what I did wrong, it shouldn't take long for me to master it...

Sure enough one hour later I was able to master the trick.

"Great! I can finally stop using my head!"

Hmm, that sounded awful!

"Now I can navigate the Dungeon Core like a touch pad!"

Well, not exactly, a touch pad is portable and I can take it anywhere, as for this, its huge and there is no way to move it... But no matter what I'm still happy for finally graduating from using my forehead and for being able to use my hands from now on.

As I touched my forehead, massaging it a bit to thank it's hard work, I notice a small dump on it.

"Hmm...did I bruise my head from using it too much?"

Considering it was not painful or anything I turned on the whatever mode and forgot about it.

Now, before watching this tutorial again, I first need to find out what is that Mana Sight from the beginning.

With a few answers and many more questions, once again I turned back to the Dungeon Core.
