'It's unlikely that they'll mount a massive invasion, so I'll need to take precautions against elite squads and ambushes. It is highly possible that some of the smarter Gods would put two and two together, and instead of fighting head-on, they would choose subterfuge and sabotage instead.'
Leylin knew that sooner or later, this would become the best way for the Gods from the Mainland to sabotage the growth of the Holy Nāga Empire. Through sabotage and subterfuge, they would be able to achieve high results.
Naturally, if carried out correctly...
Yet that was for a later date, of course, though he was already devising plans on how to counter such an operation. He was aware that such things could be dangerous and hinder the progress of the Holy Nāga Empire by a great degree.
'Another important aspect is the agriculture. I can't ignore it until after I become a True God, with my own Divine Realm and a strong foundation. Then I can open the Crystal Sphere now, letting my True Body in along with many more Magi of laws.'
During the last war between the Magi and Gods, one of the most crucial mistakes that the Magi made was that they didn't have a foundation when they were attacking the World of Gods, or base or they didn't even target the mortals that were worshipping the Gods.
For that, the Holy Nāga Empire and his foundation in the Baator could and would become the headquarters of the Magi Invasion Force into the World of Gods and it was something on which Leylin could capitalize greatly.
Godhood was an enormous threshold to cross in the World of Gods. True gods were the darlings of the world and obtained everlasting life and immortality. Even upon death, they could revive themselves as long as worshippers still believed in them, emerging once more from the river of space and time.
Even the most formidable Gods had to pay a great price to breach a Divine Realm, granting all True Gods an extremely powerful defense and offensive capabilities because when they used their Divine Kingdom, they could tremendously boost up their combat prowess.
Yet the most significant flaw of the God Path was the dependence on the worshippers because once they started losing them, then the Gods could fall and perish easier than being killed.
'Right now, I already have my Godfire ignited, lot of Divine Force, my Divinity of this Path is already set in stone and the sole thing that is remaining is Divine Realm. The amount of worshippers and Faith that they are producing should be enough to support a few Intermediate Gods without a problem; I only right now, need only some time...'
Leylin had met all of the conditions to ascend to the True God Stage of the God Path of the World of Gods long ago, but he was waiting for the right opportunity. And that opportunity would soon enough arrive when Gu Long returned.
He planned to use the presence of the Dragon Prince as a countermeasure when someone decided to attack him during his Apotheosis Ceremony and ascendance to the True God Ranks.
The most vulnerable time was during the period when the Demigod was ascending to the True Godhood.
That was the single window of opportunity to assassinate the Demigod, and it was a common tactic that was employed by other Demigods or even Gods that didn't wish for other contenders to encroach on their Divine Domains.
Either that, or just shortly after the Apotheosis was complete, because there was also a small part where the newly ascended Gods were weakened enough for a successful assassination and Leylin knew that somebody would for sure try to kill him too.
'My domain will be in Massacres. Cyric and Malar are huge problems, yes, but I've already offended them greatly. What's the harm in enraging them further? The crucial point is still the power of Faith…'
The ascension of Gods in the World of Gods was peculiar as was the entire Path of Godhood in this world. A new member of the pantheon only needed an echo of Origin Power with a certain foundation of believers to easily ascend to become a True God.
However, these sorts of Gods would always be extremely weak. They could only be Lesser Gods, of very weak and low Divine Ranks, combat prowess almost non-existent and they needed to depend on the more powerful for their continual survival.
Without asylum from more powerful Gods, they would be killed for sure by other Gods for their Divinity, Divine Spark and practically everything other.
After all, with the slow development of this world's civilization, asking the populace to accept something new would be a bit too forceful. These sorts of Gods would need hundreds or thousands of years to develop.
The advantage was that they would not be in conflict with the other Gods, and they had rather good potential for development.
With Leylin's knowledge and experience, he had thought of several Divine Domains that the World of Gods did not currently possess, with excellent potential for development.
It was a shame that he had rejected all of them.
His reason for rejecting them was relatively simple and straightforward, as the would require too much time to cultivate and even with his current capabilities and resources, it would not be suitable.
On the contrary, it may be counterproductive to his current situation.
Becoming a God of Massacres would eliminate these limitations. This Divinity would greatly aid his combat strength and it also met his requirements for power. It could also develop rather well later, at the very least making him a Greater god.
And it was also compatible with the Law Godhood of his True Body, which was the most essential aspect of his own choosing, but there were always problems in the paradise, and it was no different with the Domain of Massacress for his Clone Body.
The catch was that there were already several Gods in the Domain of Massacres, at least a whole bunch of them. Leylin's ascension would be encumbered by the conflict with these Gods, and to advance further, he would need to collect these Domains to strengthen his own.
