I was stuffing the money into the black duffle bag. Of course, it matches the spandex and leather jumpsuit I was wearing. I had on a black mask that only covered my eyes and nose. I looked around and made sure all the alarms haven't gone off and the people working here were still knocked out. I grabbed the last bit of money and hurriedly stuff it into the bag. I jumped out of the vault and made sure I didn't step on any bodies.
I do feel bad about this, really. I don't like hurting people and stealing things. It was never really my nature. But right now I have a task to get done. My parents and older brother were murdered eight months ago by a mafia gang that intruded in on their cruise while I was on a school trip to another country. They planned to have us all there, but that obviously didn't happen. They tried to clean up their mistake, but I escaped as they tried to kill me with a gun. I kicked their crotch and then jumped out the window onto a fire escape. I ran down the street behind the building and into the sewer drain that has been empty for three years. It was me and my brother's hideout where we stashed food and a knife and other necessities for surviving the streets.
And now here I am. I didn't want to get a job, since they would just come after me then and I felt like I needed to avenge my family. So I'm getting prepared to go destroy the gang that ruined us ... or me and my dead family. I have robbed eight banks, eleven five star restaurants, four grocery stores, and some other little businesses I can find.
I walk away from the first vault and go for the next. I step inside and grab money from little boxes. Some have possessions like rocks and goods or jewels. I know I'm stealing Jake Maclunies money and life savings right now, and I realize how ironic and movie like it is. This is a stunt probably pulled in an action movie and mystery book. But right now it's reality. And I have to go through with it.
I put the other stuff in another duffle bag. I fill the second bag and get ready to go. I make sure the alarms and camera are still off and that the footage of me coming in is gone. I climb up the staircase to go upstairs and to the escape ladder. Someone will notice something soon and will see me, then call the cops connecting the dots. As I go up the stairs, I duck as a group of drunk boys and girls walk to an apartment most likely to spend the night and watch football or something, having come from the bar next door.
I get back up and look at the sight below. About twenty-five men are scattered across the floor, knocked out by the chemical I put in the vents before I broke in. I then hacked into the system and made everything unlock and I disabled the alarms. The people won't be injured or anything. They'll just have a little head ache.
I then around picking up my duffle bags and started to ascend up the stairs. I keep walking up until I hear a sound. I stop and drop the duffle bags. I picked the time of three in the morning since I figured most people would be asleep on a Wednesday. Obviously not since I still have people walking up and down the streets repeatedly. Thankfully, the windows are tinted and are very hard to see through, day and night.
However, someone is trying to open the front doors. I hear a faint, "Hello?" . I dive behind the top of the stairs. I know it would help my case but it's better than nothing.
I see the doors shaking, the person trying to get in. I locked the doors, right?
I get my response as the doors burst wide open and I see a figure of a guy. Oh boy. I stare stupidly like a deer caught in headlights.
May I remind you, I'm only seventeen. I'm not ready for jail or anything. I'm almost eighteen and once I turn its done for me. Over. I'm be in jail for the rest of my life. Once that person sees the mess I made he'll call the cops. I start to regret my life of crime. I've felt guilty for it the whole time, but I need to avenge my family. The gang has to pay. They most likely have not only killed my family, but probably more. And stolen. And once I get what I need I will use it for the greater good. Becoming a vigilante this city needs. We have the largest crime rate in the world. I would help everyone I could, and start a new life. Getting a job, raising a family, you know, what regular people do except having a secret identity as a vigilante. I'll pay for what I've done wrong with right.
But right now I can't get caught and this person is about to ruin me and sound the alarm.
I think fast and pull out a fake handgun from my belt. I stand up with the gun raised and point it at the man.
He looks at me and says a very audible, "Oh."
" Walk to me and don't make a sound. You will not scream, talk, call the cops, or try to escape. If you do,I will find you and you'll be next. " I tell him as menacing as I can as I walk down the stairs slowly to meet him halfway.
My hands are trembling and my breath shaky. I keep walking and the man surprisingly does as I say. What am I gonna do now? I can't take him hostage can I? Well you certainly can't kill him, Evelyn. Oh yeah I'm Evelyn by the way. Evelyn Montaya Qiuntin
He stands three feet away. I see that he is about my age actually and very very hot. Like chilly pepper hot. Beautiful even, cause I don't think handsome covers it. Oh my gosh Evelyn. Get yourself under control. Stop thinking about how cute your hostage is and take him hostage already. I'm only seventeen remember? I can think my hostage is cute when ever I want okay.
I tell him to turn around hands raised and he does as he's told. I use one hand to feel his pockets for a phone so he can't call anyone and I find it. I take it out of his back pocket and put it in mine instead. I then grab his hand and pull him with me up the staircase, certain the police will be here any second. I get a duffle bag and put the other one in my hostages hand then drag him out the window into the fire escape and then into the dry sewers to go to my hideout. As we go down I see the sirens blaring above me as I pull the sewer cover over.
Great now I have a hostage to deal with.
