Hope? That fragile thing is easier said than done. Maya don't even paid attention to the news as she looked up at the watch on her wrist. A glimmer of anxiety rose in her dull eyes. The time is running out and if she wait any longer until the darkness arrived ,she don't know if she could find Lica any faster.
"Now that I've saved you, I want to ask if any of you know a person named Lica from class 2 in this building?"
The two men looked at each other before nodding simultaneously.
''In fact we are in the same class with her? Are you her...relative or friend?" The guy with a fair skin than the other one said while narrowed his eyes. No matter how he look at her, this unfamiliar girl don't have any distinct features as Lica. She looks ordinary while Lica looks above average. Of course appearance is one of the factor of Lica's popularity in class 2. But, he has never seen this girl?
To say that he's unimpressed was a lie. Sean have seen how fearless this girl act when facing those zombies alone. Although its a shame to admitted, he was in fact feared for his life that in danger a while ago.
He was the first person to inform the class about the incoming danger and he also the first one to volunteer to seek help from outside only to find that the heavenly place of knowledge become the hell of monsters like human running rampant. For the first time, he felt scared thinking of how it would end if his legs give away before he met this girl.
Ignoring the looks in the guy eyes, Maya said, "It's good then. You don't need to know who I am. Just take me there."
"No,no,no.. I'm ain't going anywhere. Sean, we should just stay in this place as long as we could. Don't you heard the news? there's settlement out there. Just wait for the rescue okay..?"
Maya rolled her eyes. She got a useful information but why did she have to save a coward.
"Don't be an idiot. They told us to hide but for how long? they never planned to save us at all." Maya let out a sneer. Her eyes swept at the fair skin guy and noticed that he looks hesitate in making decision but Maya was never a generous person to begin with. Currently, money and materials thing didn't matter at the time like this, the only thing they can pay her for saving them are with their live.
"I saved both of you and either one of you must take me there." Maya shoved the menacing bloody axe at their face in threatening manner. Her dull eyes instantly become cruel as she said, "I don't know how much the outside world has changes but since this place has become a hell, I don't mind to make another hell for you guys."
"Are you crazy! you dare to kill a person too?!" Sean holding back his friend from going against the girl. He also don't know how the situation has become but one thing he was clear and that is the girl in front of them is dead serious.
"Okay. I'll go with you but give me some time." Sean said with a frown and drag his friend at the corner. Since the other guy don't want to come with them, he must to make sure this classmate of his hide well. He never intend to leave his classmate and will come back after found Lica and set off with Maya to class 2.
Little did he know that Maya never like to be indebted to anyone and that's the reason why she also don't need to have others indebted to her.
She have save their life and they also have to pay with their life.

The chaos erupted for almost 8 hours. Never crossed in humanity mind that in the short of the time, the whole world indulged in a tragedy that even the strongest and advanced country can't able to predicted.
All the places were in panic. As the sunset and the night arrived, the sound of zombies roaring become more and more clear. Countless of them broke open the fragile doors and roaming on the street, smelling the humans scent and biting at people. The city was occupied, the streets were blocked and the communications were paralyzed.
In the renowned high school in City A, two figures were seen running across the hallway. One girl and one guy.
In the darkness that has a little light shine on her way, Maya keep slashing at the incoming zombies in the reckless manner. The axe become more bloodier but the sharpness seem never to fade. Even so, Maya don't bother if she really killed the zombies or only make them paralyze. The goal was not to destroy them but to slowing them down from stopping her.
Not far behind her is Sean, who was also running. But in fact he had a little trouble following Maya's steps at the same time was also afraid that if he did not keep up with her in time, Maya would leave him and go directly. While avoiding the zombies that were being chopped up by Maya, he wondered how much stamina that she has when seeing how energetic she was swinging the axe that he knows ain't light at all. As a man, for the first time he was ashamed for letting a girl do most the job.
"How much longer until we arrive?" The truth is, Maya also run out of energy. She was not an iron man to begin with and this axe consumed the strength of her arms by a lot. There's also many zombies all of a sudden roaming around in this building than the previous one and Maya also noticed that they become more aggressive at night. If she one step late, then this corridor will densely packed with these walking corpses. Hearing the breathless reply behind her, Maya fasten her pace. Two blocks more and then she can take a rest for a while.

Lica felt fatigued all over her body but the fear overpowered her mind the most when hearing the sound of roaring and clawing behind the class door. It was a silenced a while ago but after the night descended, the monsters become more hostile. The monsters shouldn't have know that the humans were hiding here since they has been keep quite and had their voices down so why they still manage to find them?
those remaining girls simultaneously held each other's hands. Some of them prayed in silenced, some of them can't help but broke down, choked on their own tears while Lica closed her eyes for fear that she would see the door breaking into pieces.
But the danger were never come instead the roaring becomes distant and the scratching noise was stopped.
There was a silence for a while until the knocking sound was heard making the girls flinched once again. Lica, that also almost calm down, shrink and instantly closed her eyes again. Vaguely she heard her name been called.
"Lica, Lica. Are you in there? Lica, open the door." Once arrive, Maya saw the zombies flocking at the class where her cousin reside. In the middle of the dark, the moonlight are shone in the faces of the zombies in front of them. The gray and white pupils coupled with the sharp luster nails and bloody fangs like wild animals seems to want to pounce on the both humans.
Unexpectedly, the zombies becomes fast but Maya much more faster. Without hesitation, she directly hit the most lethal part of the zombies and the zombies head smashed on the spot. Sean was stunned. He looked at the rotten blood on Maya's body and the corpses of zombies fell at her feet with their brain matter scattered around. The extremely disgusting and frightening sight stimulated his nerves making him want to vomit, luckily he manage to held back.
Fortunately the noise that she make don't attract any incoming danger beside the limbless zombies that she randomly hacked. Maya walked towards the closed door and intend to smash it into pieces but thinking how durable this door stand against the zombies, she threw away her intentions. Right now she needs some rest without anything interrupt her. Feeling how tired she was, her dull eyes become sleepy but she still has enough strength left and knocking the door. She soften her voice for fear attracting more zombies and calling out the name..
