"I heard some instructors talking back then. They were talking about a new batch of people coming over by the boat and they said they did not need to guard them since they could not escape from the island. That was how I knew it was an island." Elder Mong stated.
"Is there someone who tried to escape?" Yu Qi asked.
"Not too many. We were children at that time. Well, the escaped ones were usually teenagers but they did not last long." Elder Mong sighed.
"Why?" Yu Qi asked.
"They escaped through the sea. It was not a safe route. They did not have a boat. So, the only chance they had was to swim. They could be out of energy and drowned. Sometimes, sharks were waiting for their meal. Sometimes, the escaped ones were shot by the guards. Either way, we could not escape from the island." Elder Mong felt horrible when he thought about that.
