(Kaishin's POV)
"Val, we got to hurry... Pardon us Baron Hiska but fret not for we are here to rescue you under the instruction of Our lady." I said. We don't need to explain it all at once. For now, as long as we could get the Baron to follow us then it is enough for the moment.
Baron Hiska seems to know the ways around the mine thanks to the minerals and metals present at the wall. This mine is quite odd for only a certain type of mineral or metal could be majorly present at one spot and thus, making it easy to find your way by classifying which one is present.
At the moment the Baron didn't mind to come along with us even though he was uncertain if we were a ally or a foe and yet he still followed us... He's even helping us get out. It would be either he's trying to secure his safety first and try to run away when we reach outside or he just lost all his hope and got no choice but to go with the flow just so that he could survive.
"Pardon me Baron but, you mentioned of a treasure map earlier... and the king want that map... may we know which king wants the map?..." Val asks baron Hiska, as he stutters from every word and then.
The Baron looked so nervous and afraid. He started to glance from left, right, back, then his front. The fear in his eyes were so visible as he seems to be trying to think if he should answer the question on hand.
Baron Hiska takes a deap breath and closes his eyes as he faces down and tries to gather courage and gulps down his fear. Slowly, a response came... He nodded his head three times and but then slowly trys to shake his head a bit too.
Looks like both Val and I are thinking of the same thing. One of the kings must've been the one behind what happened to us. The Baron seems to be afraid to utter even the first syllable of the name of the certain king.
If only we could be certain that the king of this land was the one behind these things... I once heard from Master M that the kings are doing some illegal actions at the other allied kingdoms.
If only these serious matters where taken care of but, the empire's alliancy hasn't been handled at all. The kings still hasn't signed the treaty and just acts like they are already part of it for they don't want to lose their title as a "King" yet.
"Well, you don't have to force yourself to tell us anything but, it would be really a great help for us. We need to know who the enemy is." I said
Baron Hiska looks so terrified and yet he was trying his best to move his lips. As Baron finally gathered up all his courage to speak, A sudden explosion happened and made the whole mine shake up. The whole mine started to slowly crumble from the top.
"Guys, we got to run!"
Val and I hurriedly helped Baron Hiska to get up and try to get away from here as soon as possible. The Baron felt so light that it made me decide to just carry him on my back while Val carried all of the cases that contains our weapons.
We ran and we gladly got out on time before the whole place collapses completely, thanks to the Baron leading the way. Or so we thought... Just exactly when we reached the exit, a red liquid splashed from above my head. I turned around to look and was caught on surprise to witness the Baron, headless and continuously having blood drip from his cut off neck.
Val imediately turned around and saw strings tied above just our head level, which now have traces of blood from Baron having his head cut off...
"The exit! it had wires on it!!! Just as we were running, we were barely able to notice it for we were to focused on trying to run... The Baron also had no time to move because everything just happened so fast!" Val deducted
I let the Baron's body down and noticed that a paper was placed at my back. The Baron must've placed it beforehand. I opened the paper to actually see a map...
