Emma tried as much as possible to squeeze out more tears but seeing that her father was still not bending to her wishes, she grabbed the fruit knife close to her that her father had used to cut an apple for her and pointed it to her stomach.
Her father's eyes widened and with a face full of worry he tried to get close to her, intending to take the knife from her. Emma insisted on holding the knife to her stomach looking like she would push it inside her stomach anytime.
"Madam, please put the knife down, you are hurting Sir's heart and he is of old age it is not good for his health to scare him this way please put the fruit knife down." Sadiq's assistant tried to meditate.
But Emma had a firm expression, looking like she had already made up her mind to do no matter what if her request for a divorce from Robert was not accepted.
Sadiq took in a deep breath, and he slowly sat on the hospital bed, then with a wave of the hand he patted the bed, " darling it is not that I do not want to, but the problem is that I can't."
What do you mean by you cannot dad? You were the one who had asked for me to get married to Robert, it was your decision from the start so what do you mean that you cannot?" Emma asked clearly agitated.
" I had no other choice honey, in time you will understand why I did what I did but I had no other choice just remember the life you have now was exchanged for this marriage, in this life, you can only be Mrs Robert, my dear."
Emma failed to react for some minutes. What did her father even mean by the life she had was exchanged for that marriage and that she could only be that arrogant man's wife?
No, she could not accept it, there was no way she was going to take it lying down. Was she just going to accept being the wife of that unlikable man? She had thought about everything clearly, she had already planned out her career and how she was going to journey through it with her father's influence and wealth. There was no way in hell she was going to accept that as her fate.
Raising her head to look at her father," Daddy how come you cannot fight him, you are one of the most influential men of Country C why then is it difficult for you to just use your influence on him and take me away from him."
You do not understand honey, I am very sure he is a good kid and you both make a good pair and also you two need to be together until your end, remember your husband can take away what I have with just a snap of his fingers." Sadiq said.
Emma exhaled loudly. Was that man really that powerful that even her father who the royalties of Country C had to show respect to would stoop so low as to put himself down?
Her father could garner respect from the big name in country C, but he was now bending his head for the man that she so much wanted to divorce and have nothing to do with him. Her earlier happiness was soon short-lived. She could already foresee her miserable future, in the house cleaning with multiple kids grabbing her apron and asking for food while some cried to be carried by her just thinking about it made her shudder in fear.
She had already accepted the fact that she could not have an abortion as she was already far along in her pregnancy, but she sure could be able to make a deal with her child with the owner's body husband to give custody of the child to him in exchange for her freedom. Since her father could not do so due to his reasons that he did not want to say then she would just have to think of a way that she could be able to use and free herself from the man.
It was not something noble of her to do, leaving the child all alone, especially since she was an orphan in her previous life, but she had no connection or love towards the child or the child's father. It was all new to her but what she was sure of was that she needed to be famous. She was reborn in such a good condition and environment that it would be very easy for her to make it in the entertainment industry with her father's backing.
Well, she would go visit the child and not abandon it entirely since she knew the pain of not being abandoned but she would sure of no way have the child as a burden. The entertainment industry was an ugly place to be, and it was the best choice, not to have the child with her to avoid being in scandals and destroying her career even before it started and as well as not exposing the child to malicious comments. She wanted the child to grow up in a cool environment and away from the entertainment industry so that he or she could enjoy a peaceful childhood.
Emma let go of the fruit knife she had been holding, making her father let out a sigh of relief thinking that he was able to convince her on the matter of her getting a divorce with Robert. Emma caressed her belly and felt like the decision she had made was by far the best she could come up with, making both sides to be in a winning situation. Her child is growing peacefully and her growth in the entertainment industry is peaceful as well.
Unbeknownst to her, anything Rober intended to keep under wraps then would be a secret as long as he wants to and so the child would grow away from the paparazzi's eyes as long as he wants to, and her career would also be smooth sailing as long as he wanted to make it so.
