A week has passed since the unknown disturbance appeared, Reaper and Ghosts fleet had arriving at Earths orbit and the planet seemed to have became hell, Cities are in ruines, magma flowing out of large cracks in the earth. Trees have seemed sapped of life as there all dead.
Water that once flowed over the earth had also mysteriously vanished leaving the planet waterless and dry.
A team was dropped onto the surface and as Specter and the other Founders are not preset on this operation as they are organizing and helping our own planets first, the team when there boots hit the ground dust and dirt lifted up making a cloud.

Being displayed on a Hologram before the four Founders in 3D as the Ships in orbit is transmitting the team of four on the ground in a four squar meter radius everything is visible to see as if physically present on the planet.
The ODPs in space to protect earth from attacks are also being displayed on the side a different hologram and they are Destroyed not the destroyed by cannons or beams but as if something had eaten through the alloy metal but not plasma damage.
If the enemy can do this damage to the alloy will our metal alloy also fall after a while? (Reaper)
And the surrounding seemed void of life as if the enemy had killed and took all the corpses. (Death)

Taking a closer look it does seem dimmer on the surrounding like the sun is going down and its already half set.

A screen appeared on the side of the Hologram of the team and the team looked up there four cameras appeared active as the sun appeared on the screen, its right above them displaying its noon or earlier then that.

The Captain in Deaths Fleet looked at the Sun with the hologram system and a Hologram of the Sun appeared in the center, there looking at the sun it looks way dimmer then normal by a large amount. Data came in showing the sun is actually close to entering Red Giant status.

The team have entered the outer edge of the city as the city is completely in ruins and flowing lava and burning buildings the chance of teleporting the team in lava by accident prevent the use of teleporting and the smoke blocks the visitation of the system preventing to find a safe place the scout team is also looking for a location to but a beacon to teleport troops in when the time is right.
The team moved and keeping alert, checking there surroundings as they moves slow hut a steady pace, looking at the buildings that has potential sniper locations.
They took a turn and something appeared on the screen on the soldier at point, the team was alerted and stopped moving they then got into cover and looked over the rubble as they looked what came through the screen was a Black sand ball about a meter radius its floating down the street.

The conversation is being sent to the Soldiers and the others in orbit the Captains are getting the same information to know what to be ready for when attacking and the soldiers are getting the live feed to help when they need to jump right into combat they will know what to expect when arriving.
The Scout team moved back but as soon as they took a step the shadow thing had two red orbs as it faced the team they seen the change and quickly but quickly moved away.
They are not able to see it and that means it cant see them, they moved back further then the team felt as if they are being watched and turned the shadow thing was right above them with the red orbs as if red eyes shrouded in darkness was looking down at the team.

The team moved back and then the Shadow thing became a cloud and surrounded the team as it followed where they moved the red orbs seem to look at the team.

The Helberd slashed and the others used rapid firing beams as the purple beams flew in every direction the beams themselves dimmed once leaving the weapon then a hole appeared after it passed.

The team attacked and the darkness thing dissipated into nothing after a long fight of three minutes of shooting in random direction the red orbs vanished like it was not even there.
Beam weapons work but not fast, I would like to know what type of weapon is good to use against the enemy. (Reaper)

The team moved and the closer they got to there destination more shadows appeared, they had to climb over and through many ruined buildings and other paths as lava stopped there advance or shadows then there is the ruined buildings blocking the way. After close to an hour the team arrived at the embassy, the structure is a dome center and a mansion mix, old architecture, Tanks, Warthogs, barricades with turrets in place with ammo and gun boxes defending the entrance but there is not a single living being found yet. The team started climbing up the stone steps the team arrived at the door that is solid metal alloy probably to prevent Covenant from attacking is closed.

The other three moved to keep watch of the surrounding as he unlocked the door it did not take long and the door opened, the team went in and locked the door back the inside is dark the sun light being dim coming through the windows is the only light in the building, moving the team turned there night vision on allowing them to see where they are going even with the light.

That is an understatement, the dark spaces can hold a shadow and that thing can pop out at anytime even behind us without knowing until its on us. [Soldier]

The team got on the second floor when bright lights turned on from all sides and many UNSC Marines, ODST, Spartans popped out from cover and all aimed at the team.

Making there way up the stairs ODST, Spartans, Marines, Civilians are all packed together, getting to the third floor Admrial Hood is present with many other high ranking members.

I got to the platform and activated it that sent a hologram of me and the soldier helmet lit up and I appeared before Hood.

Not sure ourselves, a pulse happened took all deep space communication offline, we have local comms that is it, then a pitch black gas appeared above the planet atmosphere then it exstended to cover the planet blocked out the sun and that gas started eating away at everything water was evaporated, structures collapsed from integrity weakend made them collapse. But the worse part is everyone was killed the lucky ones in a closed off space from outside lived the others became mummified then even that was not able to last and turned to ash that then got blown away. We found Spartans shields was able to protect them for a short while but the longer one is in the dark gas the less likely to survive but once inside a secured place we held out the gas left the planet and then sphere shadows appeared the Spartans are able to take one one but our weapons done nothing if not for your energy beams we would have been killed. (Hood)
We are to help evacuation, you probably don't know but your sun is also effected and will be entering red giant if you stay everyone will be killed, sorry to tell you this but, earth is lost. [Specter]

All the Captains need is the coordinates and the teams will move from here as its a safe teleportation location no lava and then they will head out to the locations then they will teleport everyone on the ships waiting, there is medic teams on stand by. [Specter]
The evacuation started, everyone was teleported away and Infinity Guardians troops replaced them, Admrial Hood gave the locations out and the teams split up and moved all over the city and then more at other cities, there are not many survivers out of all that have died just lucky Survivers.
After the cities was cleared and there was actually enough room for all the survivers to get on the ships, something in space was getting closer to the fleet.
