The next day Maddie and Master Li arrived at Elijah's house early in the morning.
They were greeted by the head butler who escorted them to the study.
The head butler knocked twice before there was a deep voice that said "Enter".
He opened the door and lead them inside then bowed to Elijah before he left.
Maddie felt nervous ever since she entered the house.
She just looked at her father who gave her a reassuring smile telling her that everything will be alright.
In the study, Elijah gestured for them to sit while he was finishing off some documents.
Once he was finished he said "From today onwards, you will become my personal assistant.
So you need to be by my side every day during work.
But for now, I'm just going to teach you about my business so you will have an idea of how your job will be like."
Maddie was speechless, she had no clue how to be a personal assistant for a businessman, so she said "Mr. Guinto, if I may ask. Why me? And why an assistant, wouldn't it be more practical if I were your bodyguard since this is what I'm more trained to do."
He looked at her indifferently and said with a voice that made her feel terrified "From now on you will refer to me as the master. And I don't need a little girl to protect me. Since this is what you want then you will also become my sparring partner during our training but you will still need to learn to become my assistant. The reason why I chose you was that you caught my interest. If there's nothing else you may leave and look for head butler Ben and he will show you to your room. I need to talk to your father in private."
Maddie stood up and bowed to her new master and said "Yes master I understand. I shall take my leave now".
Then she left the study to look for head butler Ben.
Elijah felt a bit awkward for making Maddie call him Master, but he first needed to establish a relationship between them to make her feel more comfortable around him.
Once outside she felt so nervous for her father but she knew he would be safe since she accepted this job.
So she went to look for head butler Ben so that she can get settled in her room.
"This will be your room young miss and eldest masters room is just next door.
If you need anything don't hesitate to ask.
"When head butler Ben left, she unconsciously looked at the door next to hers and a chill went down her spine knowing that the great devil will be right in the next room.
She went into her room and arranged her clothes in the cabinet and she noticed that there were dress suits hanging in her closet.
Maddie assumed that that will be her attire while she will work under him. Maddie left her room to wait in the living room so that she can say goodbye to her father before he leaves.
She roamed around, admiring all the antiques and the architecture of the house.
She was quite bored as she laid on the couch and heard her stomach growling.
Thus she decided to head to the kitchen to see if she could grab a quick snack.
She was greeted by the head chef who was very friendly and gave her a small bowl of fruits to snack on while she started to cook their lunch.
