The sun rises over Elpis city, as if the sun Rays has birthed life in the city. people in off road vehicles flooded the interconnected roads and people who didn't have vehicles filled the sidewalks. they might have different looks, gender or status but they all had a similar glint in there eyes, a pep in there step and there shoulders straight. it was a since of pride of knowing your purpose and having the ability to make a change in society even if it was but a small change. some of the walking people went to construction sites and others to shops around them, while some of the people in vehicles went outside the city wall. beyond the city wall was the complete opposite from the inside, cracked roads, rusted metal scraps that once where cars and ruined buildings can be seen sporadically. growls and hawls are heard with each passing car but the origin of these sounds couldn't be located as it came from all around them.
some vehicles went to vendors to restock on supplies such as dried rations, mechanical checkups and gun supplies. a few vehicles headed to the middle of the city where two skyscrapers existed.
at the top floor on the left skyscraper was a man overlooking the city. he looked like he was in his prime. he had a dark brown sporty suit and a white shirt that complemented his golden amber coloured eyes and his well groomed short beard.
unlike the pedestrians in the streets, his eyes carried a since of burden but underneath that burden was a small flame of hope that tenaciously burned. behind him was a big desk that had a big map that had circled areas with different colours. infront of the map was a name plateau that had [owen write CEO/owner].
sigh," the nobles finally set there sights on us and it was the crown prince at that!" said owen. he took one last look at the city beneath him and walked back to his desk looking at the big black circle to the west of the green shaded area in the middle of the circle.
180 years ago a huge nuclear war broke out of no where. it is not known which nation fired first and where it hit but it was the spark the let fuse for the war. in the end do to the huge amount nuclear waste and radiation no are safe. people who built bunkers didn't have time to reach them leading them to an early death if luck or huge mutation that ended there life slowly in excruciating pain.
after the radiation started to settle down seeping into the ground and integrating into the new cycle of the environmental system on the planet, it started changing the living creatures. plants and animals started to develop any diverse ways. some that wouldn't be recognized from the original creature it was mutated from and humans where not excluded from that. some mutations caused death some where fast and others would be slow but they where of malignant mutations, in the other hand there where mutations that do not lead to death but to withstand the living conditions that they where in. the optimum way the the original creatures adapted to the radiation was to allow the body to edit and change its DNA depending on the experience and sustenance from the environment. but there was a small group that changed completely from the original life form but was able to live and thrive nonetheless.
noble vampires developed from that type of mutation. turned out that there was a small group of humans have developed that type of mutation in the early period of the apocalyptic era. they are better than humans in all aspects other than there low birth rate and the dependence on human blood. even with all that power they wouldn't be special as there are many fantastical and powerful creatures out there and they all share that they have a low birth rate which lowers there area of domain. the noble vampires stepped over that issue with there ability to making vampires or blood slaves as some others might call them. vampires where originally humans who where turned by noble vampires.
vampires have no free well and can be easily killed with but a thought through the blood connection. even with that draw back there people piling over each other to do anything just to be turned into a vampire. vampires have almost all the abilities of Nobel vampires but in weakened version.
the crown prince of vampires has sent an envoy demanding Elpis city become a vessel under his control. he gave the management controlling 3 days to give an answer.
the board of directors was full, there was a lively discussion that sounded closer to a pub than a board meeting. a tall figure almost covering the door walked causing the room to quiet down, even a pin drop can be heard. everybody had different expressions looking at the man. everyone was looking forward for the man in the lead of the city making renewing what was once impossible possible.
owen sat in his place on the round table. " thank you everybody for being here, without further ado we all know of the problem and we have already limited our options to 2 categories, fight or join." said owen
"let me say even though we are limited to 2 options, that doesn't mean that you can't escape, it isn't a cowardly thing as you want to preserve your life, BUT do take into account that if you go you will not be able to join again our group again even though we can still be allies." said owen.
the vote ended up being 8 fighting, 0 joining and 2 choosing to leave. 7 people had fire burning in there eyes and fighting spirit while a man and a woman had a look of shame and had there heads lowered." its fine my guys I understand." said owen. "I am sorry owen you know how much i want to fight with all of you guys against those arrogant filthy bastards but claire is pregnant so she can't fight and I have to take care of them both so I can't risk dying" said Tom.
"hahaha.it's fine you to after we win over those blood sucking mommies, all of use are going to vote on getting you back!"said John laughing jubilantly as if it was a matter of course making everyone laugh too. Tom and claire's eyes started to water.
owen gave slight smile looking at the both of them before going back to his stern look from before." with all that settled let us start planning for the up coming war." said owen.
