As Seru opened the door, the sun's light ray's momentarily blinded him.
"Why the heck is this sun so bright today!"
He took the cool red girl-scented towel from his pocket and draped it over his head then knotted it together under his chin.
"Much better!" he snickered to himself. How resourceful am I to use this red towel to block the sun's heat! Seru then looked at his surroundings to find himself surrounded by flowery meadows as far as the eye could see. The flowers looked like any ordinary dandelion on Earth, but with a closer look, the flowers seemed to radiate tiny particles of fuzzy yellow light.
"What beautiful flowers, this meadow must not be ordinary!"
The teen paused. Wait... why am I so calm about this?!?! I was sucked into my own dysfunctional laptop. And now I'm in a random meadow in the middle nowhere with strange little flowers? Usually people would freak out or something right? Something's not right here..
Seru closed his eyes. He observed his own train of thought. This is weird, I've never been able to do this so clearly before.
As he focused harder and harder, trying to figure out what made him so calm, POOF! a little yellow ball appeared in his consciousness.
He was slightly startled, but quickly returned to calmness. He was able to interact with the little yellow ball in his consciousness. If he focused on poking it, an unknown force would slightly poke the ball, making it wiggle in it's spot.
"How interesting…" Seru exclaimed as he examined the ball closer, and noticed little strands of light feeding into the ball.
As he followed the tiny strands of light, the image in his consciousness zoomed out to reveal a familiar looking bare chest.
Am I staring at my own chest? How is that even possible!
He slowly got the hang of scanning himself with his consciousness.
Let's see how far I can zoom out.
Seru tried to get his consciousness to scan around him, the farthest he could go was 3 feet, before he felt an invisible barrier preventing him from going farther.
Okay… this is definitely not normal. His mind which was about panic received a gentle pulse from the little yellow ball in the middle of his chest, which calmed him down.
So it's this yellow ball that's making me so calm. That's pretty useful.
After he familiarized himself with scanning things with his consciousness, Seru returned to observing the yellow ball. As he attempted to follow the little strands of light coming from the ball, he noticed some thinner, more solid strands coming out of the yellow ball which he discovered going through seemingly random passageways in his body. Yet when he followed them, he ended up back at the yellow ball.
It looks like those thinner strands are circulating throughout my body while the thicker strands are being absorbed from the outside world and are being fed into the little yellow ball. A light bulb turned on in his head. Wait! It couldn't be.. is this cultivation?
"Energy core in my dantian… check."
"Existence of meridians… check."
"Comfortably warm sensations in my body… hot damn."
"MY TIME HAS COME!" Seru hopped to his feet and laughed uproariously.
He skipped joyously around in the meadow of flowers. His days of being called weird for reading light novels were over.
Who's laughing now!
If anyone saw him, they would have thought he was crazy. As he skipped around in the meadow of flowers, he felt a comfortable warm sensation enter his body and into the yellow ball.
Glancing at the flowers, he immediately found that the yellow ball attracted the yellow fuzzy balls emanating out of the flowers.
Shortly after, he could feel energy produced from the ball circulating his body, slightly strengthening his physique.
Seru was ecstatic as he felt full of energy and became addicted to the feeling of his body being strengthened.
Like a madman, he began to wildly sprint around the seemingly endless meadow, greedily absorbing every possible particle of fuzzy yellow light.
As the red towel slipped off his head, the sun beams were also absorbed by his yellow ball, which lead him to sprint even crazier.
He wasn't just running like a madman however, he was also acting like one.
His long black hair flew messily in all directions and loud whooping noises echoed through the meadow he was even clicking his heels occasionally.
His manner resembled that of a carefree dog frolicking around at the park. He didn't seem to notice the fact the the flowers he ran by were slowly fading in color.
Seru was on cloud nine after finding out that he could cultivate like in the books he used to read on Earth.
It was like a dream come true!
All those countless hours on Earth wasted on reading light novels, if he didn't become the overlord of this world with this gift from the heavens he might as well commit suicide on a block of tofu.
This running and whooping did not end until hours later when the sun was setting and Seru finally noticed that the strengthening feeling became negligible.
Now that I've let out my nerdy frustrations and absorbing these flowers seem to have no more effect on me, time for a change in scenery.
