Chapter 1 - Pr¤l¤gue | James King

After:

"Who are you?"

"Your wettest dream."

It hasn't been that long since she left. . .maybe she'd get lucky and they'd forget she existed. She begged God they wouldn't remember.

"Foeral [1], is that you?" A light distant voice from behind her gasped.

Hearing her name from such a familiar voice made her tighten her grasp on her satchel. She started speed walking.

Dang it! He can go to hell. God can go to hell with him too!

"Foe? Is that seriously you?" The voice started approaching her, followed by some quick footsteps.

She shook her head, angry at her harsh words and continued speed walking even more. No, maybe he can go safely jump into some toxic waste.

"Foe! I know that's you! Stop walking like you have to take a leak!" King yelled out.

Is he stupid? They're in public! Does he want to never have children?

The brunette stopped in her tracks, she knew if she ignored him any longer he would embarrass her even more.

Foe abruptly turned around. "What in the baby-messiah do you want?" She hissed and saw him flinch. Foe knew it wasn't his fault, but no one had more of a crude mouth than him. And if he wasn't stopped he'd keep yelling after her.

"How could you be so mean to your only friend after so many years?" He pouted and furrowed a dark eyebrow, dragging out the word 'only'. "I've missed you."

Her features softened. She never could stay angry at him. "Sorry, long time no see."

And they talked. After an hour of a butt-load of "Where have you been?", "Does your mother know you're back?" and "What were you doing?" and her back-to-back quick answers, James King had calmed down.

It had been a while since they met up. And after the incident with her mother, Foeral had left to live someplace far from her troubles, keeping a secluded life for over three years.

King hadn't expected after separating with with his one-sided love, he'd find her at some local market near The Silver Corporate HQ.

"Wait, so why are you back all of a sudden?"

She knew it was coming, but still felt the hesitancy to answer. Should she just lie? No. He was her only friend back then. He stood up for her. She wouldn't lie. . .but she couldn't say that she was kidnapped, forced into employment and was dragged around by some crazy billionaire and his son.

The girl straightened out her white rimmed glasses, brushed back her dark, curly hair and sighed. Yeah, there is no way she's telling him that.

"Uh. . .I got a job. . ."
