The crew returns to Seeira without Loki and his brothers. Siran and Finn stopped by Vivi's house to get their kids and return home. When they finally get home, Siran notices one of his notebooks missing. On his desk, Siran was writing down and recording what he could remember of The Naris Catastrophe, from his own perspective. "Hey, Silas?" Siran asks.
"Yeah, dad?" Silas answers obediently.
"Have you seen one of my notebooks around here?" Siran asks. "Had a brown leather cover and a button strap...".
"Yeah" Silas says as he runs up to the desk. "It's right he-". Suddenly, Silas freezes, then thinks for a minute. "Wait a minute... it was right here. I remember it perfectly".
"Did you dig through my notes while I was gone?" Siran asks, a little worried.
"Well... I did" Silas says, "b-but I made sure it was all put back exactly as I found it! Honest!". Siran looks around through the many records from The Naris Catastrophe, and sees all of the files still in its place. However, he wasn't sure if they were left in the exact position it was in before, it was all still there. All of it, except for his personal notebook. "Is it... bad?" Silas asks.
Siran takes a deep breath, then says "No... no, it'll be fine".
"You sure, dad?" Silas asks.
"Yeah..." Siran says. "I'm sure it'll turn up eventually".
A few days later, on Friday, October 26th; the kids returned from school and the crew was talking amongst themselves. "Still!" Vivi shouts, "they could've ended up being very useful allies! Even if you don't trust them, they could've helped out a lot! Didn't they teach you some important information?".
"They only thing I've learned is to never trust anything that comes from Valhalla!" Siran protests. "Anything!".
The room fell silent as Vivi looks Siran directly in the eyes. "Does that include you then?" She asks as she crosses her arms. "From what we've heard, you've been in Valhalla for a while... does that mean we have to stop trusting you then?".
Siran sighs, then says "Vivi, you don't understand-".
"No, you don't understand!" Vivi yells. "There are gods- literal gods willing to help, and you turned them down!".
"So what if they're gods!?" Siran shouts. "So what if they want to help!? You can't trust those... things!".
"What about Gaia?" Zia asks.
"What about Gaia!?" Siran retorts.
"She saved our lives!" Zia explains.
"And Naris gave us magic!" Siran yells. "Magic, which we can't live without in this day and age! However, all of it came with a catch! Naris wanted to kill us all, Gaia is using us as her minions, and who knows what those other assholes are going to extort from us! Think about it! Why would they help!? What's in it for them!?".
"Well... they are gods" Alex says. "They've gotta be much better than we are".
Siran glares at Alex in disapproval. "What makes them better, exactly?" Siran asks. "What exactly is it that gods can do... that humans can't do, now that we have magic?".
The rest of the crew freezes for a while. "Well... we don't... know" Ying says. "We've never seen them in action".
"If you ask me" Siran says, "they're useless! We have no need for them. They need us! And until I fully understand what's going on here, I'm not helping them with jack shit!".
"What about the things they've told us?" Blake asks.
"You believe any of that?" Siran asks. "Especially coming from Loki, the master of trickery!? We can handle this without them... we don't need them here, us humans alone have the power to take care of ourselves. Humans have the power to protect the world and make it prosper, no matter how many times we fall".
After a while of thinking, Rose began to sniffle a little. Her goggles folded backwards off of her eyes, as she wiped tears. Then she said "You know... he's right!". Rose begins to stand up from the couch as she says "I won't take this sitting down! I was a ninja! A rebel from Cairo! More than that, I am a Six Gun! I'm a mother and a hero! Nobody can tell me what to do!". Rose begins to stomp her way through the living room of Vivi's house, but she suddenly trips and falls on the floor. Her face planted into the ground and everyone looked at her as she lay motionless and embarrassed on the floor.
"Hun..." Finn says.
"No..." Rose replies, her voice slightly muffled by the floor. "I don't want to talk about it".
"You worked yourself up so much that you forgot to put your goggles back on..." Finn says gently.
"Shut up..." Rose complains with a pouty voice.
"Would you like some help?" Finn asks.
"... Maybe" Rose says, once again with a pouty voice.
"Look" Siran says as Finn helps lift Rose back onto the couch, "my point still stands. We may not know what they're capable of in terms of power, but that also means we don't know what they're capable of in terms of treachery. Trusting people like that is dangerous".
"We don't know if we can handle it though!" Vivi replies.
"No, I think Rose had a point" Finn says. "We are The Six Guns!".
"You saw how big that giant guy was!" Alex protests.
"We've seen bigger..." Rose says with a shrug.
"She's right!" Robin says. "Didn't Loki mention that they couldn't walk freely on this Earth because they were scared of Naris or something? If we can take down Naris, we can totally take down someone who was afraid of Naris!".
"I was talking about their literal size..." Rose says, "but yeah! That too!".
"I don't think that's the key information here" Holly says. "They said any god who freed Naris would've been signing themselves up for dinner, and not in a formal way... I think we could only defeat him because he wasn't designed to fight humans".
"Other than that" Haru says, "who's to say they lied about that too? If they couldn't help out during The Naris Catastrophe, then it's likely evidence suggesting that Naris might've been the stronger foe. The fact that they had to hide their identities from us up until that point might even be supporting evidence".
"That's fair..." Mikoto says, "but what if they weren't lying?".
"What if they're really weak towards Naris" Satomi asks, "but not towards us?".
"Uhmm" Silas says as he nervously tries to speak up, "I'm not sure if I'm following this... but was that Laurence guy... one of these gods?".
"Yeah... yeah he is" Siran says.
"That Laurence... or... Loki" Silas says, "kept looking at me like I was some kind of monster".
"Oh yeah!" Tanya says. "He even said Silas was holding onto something important, or something like that".
"What did he give you?" Siran asks.
"Nothing!" Silas says. "He just... he seemed like he was afraid of me".
"What do you mean?" Ying asks.
"Well... I'm not sure how to put it" Silas says. "He just seemed like... he just didn't like me. A-and... well- uhmm... ah, never mind".
Blake laughs, then says "A god afraid of a teenager... I guess teenagers really are scary after all!".
"I don't think that's the point here" Zia says. Zia kneels down in front of her son, then asks "Silas? What is it?".
"Well... you probably won't know either..." Silas says.
"Come on, sweetie" Zia says. "You know you can talk to us about anything".
"W-well... what's a God Slayer?" Silas asks.
Everyone in the room except for Tanya, Demetri, Dana, Carl and Ali nearly jump at the word. "Where... did you hear that?" Zia asks.
"There was this guy in one of my dreams" Silas says. "He called himself Chronos or something like that... I don't remember much, but I remember hearing something about another God Slayer is born... is that weird?".
"That is very weird..." Ali says.
The rest of the room was still silent and staring at Silas. "Ah, yes!" Demetri says. "The reaction of everybody knowing something besides elderly Russian doctor... can somebody fill me in?".
"Yeah, I have no idea either" Tanya says.
"Wasn't that God Slayer thing something that Loki was talking about?" Finn asks.
"Wasn't Chronos something Loki was talking about too?" Robin asks.
"Y-Yeah..." Siran says. "He said... Ishmael and Naris were God Slayers".
"And Silas is a new one?" Vivi asks.
"Am I... like Naris?" Silas asks.
"No! Of course not!" Siran says.
Suddenly, a knock was heard on the door. Before anyone tried to open the door, someone on the other side opened the door themself. "No, you're nothing like Naris" Loki says as he walks into Vivi's house.
Siran puts his hand over his gun and prepares for a fight. "What are you doing here?" He asks.
"How long have you been here?" Vivi asks.
"Since the beginning" Loki says. "I'm sure there's a lot you need to sort out, and I figured you'd have some questions".
"Why would I ever trust you?" Siran asks.
"Why? Because I'm the god of trickery?" Loki asks. "Would you rather listen to my simpleminded, and overly honest brother, Thor?". Siran remained silent and refused to answer. "Right" Loki says, then throws a book at Siran. "Before we go anywhere, here's this".
Siran catches the book and looks down at it. It's brown leather cover, worn edges and button strap. Siran even opened it up to double check, but he knew it was his notebook. "You went into my house and stole my notebook?".
"I prefer the word finessed" Loki says. "It sounds nicer. As for your son, he is a God Slayer... but he's nothing like Ishmael or Naris. His soul is a new soul. He has had no past lives, and has a purely human body". Loki then closes the door behind himself, and says "But he's a lot more unique than both of them combined".
"What do you mean?" Zia asks.
"He has the largest shard of Chronos inside himself" Loki says. "Likely taken out of Valhalla when you two left. You probably unknowingly took that shard with you, and now he's inherited it. The strange thing is, the shards usually apply something... unique to the human body, depending on the shard or even the person. In some cases, it may allow someone to regain time they've lost, by resurrecting them after death. For others, it may even allow time travel. For some, it may even displace their soul into someone else's body after death, allowing them more time on Earth. However, with this kid... it's nothing more than a catalyst".
"A catalyst for what!?" Siran demands.
"Well, he was born with the capacity for Endoindustria that far exceeds any normal humans" Loki says. "This shard seems to bestow knowledge onto him for magic, as well as another effect that I didn't think possible".
"What is it?" Silas asks, nervously.
"You don't seem to have a capacity at all for Endoindustria" Loki says as he stares into Silas's eyes. "Or, more accurately, you don't have a max capacity for endo... any endo that would damage your human body would theoretically be stored inside yourself, or ejected from your body. Silas... you can contain an infinite amount of magic in yourself. With enough practice, you may be able to absorb enough endo to overpower any man or god. As for the rest of you, you're partially right. You humans have a chance of beating him. Even without the kid. Primeval gods can use Reactive Endoindustria, but regular gods can not. It would destroy their body".
"So, just so to them what we did to Naris, but do it better?" Finn asks.
"Better being the key word" Loki says. "Gods are much more efficient at magic than that terrible Naris was. However, typical magic just didn't work at all on Naris".
"So we can beat 'em!?" Rose asks, suddenly relieved.
"Don't take it too lightly" Loki says. "I said you have a chance... that is all".
Loki begins to leave, and Siran chases him outside. When outside, Siran sees his three brothers waiting for him. "Wait!" Siran says. "If you've done anything to my son, there'll be hell to pay!".
"I'm not going to do something like that" Loki says with a short laugh. "Oh wait... that's right... you won't believe me either way. Anyways, see ya later!". Loki and his three brothers then suddenly vanish.
Siran heads back inside, takes a deep breath, then says "Guns, let's get ready to track down Zeus. The less of Loki we have to see, the better".
"Yes!" Rose says. "More baddies to bring down!".
"I'm already looking into clues for Zeus's whereabouts" Holly says with her laptop on her lap, "but what makes you so confident in our magic capabilities?".
"You guys I can trust" Siran says. "Those guys, I cannot. I'll easily pick my team over some lousy gods any day".
