There's a problem.
Our next opponent? Some insane guy who seemed to almost kill his opponent. You see how that's bad, right?
I mean, there seriously is something wrong with our luck. Why can't we fight some normal people? Maybe someone who doesn't display murderous tendencies. You know, in general, I'm getting irritated at this all. I really can't catch a break.
Maybe it was a mistake to join this tournament in the first place... hey, wait a minute, it was that damn king that forced us to take place in it in the first place. Damn it, if it wasn't for him, maybe we could be resting instead... even more so, if he didn't summon us in the first place, we'd still be on earth.
So, all things considered, let's blame the king for all our current problems. Sure, he seemed like a decent guy, but that doesn't matter, I need some scapegoat to blame, and he fills the criteria.
But, that's aside from the point.
We're now in the waiting room, and as the name entails, we're waiting for our names to be called. It's taken quite a bit, maybe there was some sort of interruption? I doubt it, what would be so important as to interrupt The Tournament? It might not seem like it, but it's an event that people all across the world come to see, even people outside of Draila.
So, with nothing else do to, we wait... Oh, the moment I think that, I hear the voice of the announcer. It's interesting how no matter where you are, you can hear his voice like he's right by you. Maybe it's some sort of skill? Or, maybe even spell, I can't say.
With us called to the arena, we leave. However, not before some 'good lucks' from The Rising Sun. Honestly, they deserve to be this far in the tournament, not us. Each of them is incredibly talented from what I've seen, and not just that, they've all got a just heart... I think. I haven't known the three of them for so long, only about six hours, so I don't have a perfect sense of their characters.
Either way, we left.
...
Here we are, facing the person apparently named Blaine.
As I said before, I'm not exactly excited about this. Despite the difference in people between us, us having three people and him being all alone, we might be at the disadvantage. My mana hasn't fully recovered, and neither has Akane's. Togeshi looks like he hasn't fought once today, however. So, we might need to rely on him a bit here.
This Blaine guy was able to cast two different spells at once. There's a huge difference between being able to have two spells active at the same time and the former feat. I'm not able to do such a thing, honestly. I've tried, but when I attempted to cast another at the same time, it became so incredibly difficult to control that it rebounded against me, actually hurting me. So, he either has an incredible talent for manipulating mana, or he's trained for so long that he was able to do it. Both of these possibilities are equally terrifying, considering we're either dealing with a phenomenal talent, or someone who never gives up. And, considering he's probably between sixteen and eighteen, that's even more impressive.
I can at least take solace in the fact if he does make an attempt on my life, 'Pride' will take effect and guarantee a win for us... the problem arises when you take into consideration Togeshi and Akane don't have such a safe line.
Perhaps he'll be disqualified if he tries such a thing, at least, I hope he is. The fact that he's so obviously willing to kill shows he's not deserved of winning this.
Oh, what am I thinking? It's not like I actually want to win this... perhaps being trained by that person the king spoke of wouldn't be so bad? I mean, we might become stronger because of it, so maybe I'm not so against it.
Oh, I've become a bit distracted. The announcer has begun to speak, in the same tone as he usually did. I couldn't actually tell what he looked like, honestly. He was too far away.
"Welcome everybody, to the second round of the semi-finals! Our last round was a surprising match where the team 'Dest' came out victorious, even against the great magic knights! It was truly a spectacular match, one to be remembered!" He went on about what happened last round, and yes, it was an impressive match... the magic knights, right? They were a division of knights in Draila or something.
"However, in this round, we have Team Ohre and Blaine fighting! Team Ohre has shown incredible skill in their two battles, but in their last fight, they were forced into a standstill! Their opponent was incredibly powerful, to the point they almost lost! However, at the last moment, they came out victorious when their opponent forfeited... you have to ask yourself, isn't that a waste of the three of theirs talent? Winning due to a forfeit? Quite a shame, is it not?" Yes, he was right, the only reason we actually won was that she forfeited... maybe that's a good thing.
"Although, on the other side of the arena, we have Blaine Skia. A man who has shown to have a terrifying ability to cast two spells at once! Quite an impressive feat indeed, right? However, he, during the last match, almost murdered his fellow contestant in anger! A talented man indeed, but does he deserve such a talent? I can't say myself." The announcer's words were met with the booing of the crowd, obviously not joyed to see Blaine again. Blaine seemed to clench his teeth, obviously infuriated by it all.
"Oho! Please calm yourselves! I, as the announcer, am supposed to be completely impartial, but just like you, I am also rooting for team Ohre! However, do keep your booing for if Blaine wins! But I digress, let the battle, begin!
>Chapter Y.13, end.<
