So, the goblin lord is gonna break out of the ice spell any moment now, so how should I prepare? Hm...
Oh, I got it! I have another idea of a spell! I'm just a god at getting ideas for spells! So, what if, like, a make some super sharp ice spikes above the Encapsulating Ice that'll fall whenever I want them to? I mean, mana can do a lot of things, so I'm assuming it can control when they will fall too.
Okay, let's try it! First, change my mana into the ice attribute, then take it out of my mana core, and finally shape it into the spikes of ice! Oh, nice! Once again, it worked! I'm such a genius. That's three times in a row now that I've been able to use a newly made spell! Hm... let's call this one Falling Ice.
Hm? With a shattering noise, the ice broke, releasing the goblin lord. However, the moment this happened, the ice spikes fell and punctures him in multiple places, including the shoulder... and other shoulder. Of course, he got lucky and got hit everywhere except his head...
Okay, while he's distracted by the pain, let's use Paralysis Bite on my sword to apply a paralyzing effect, and rush at him, activating gust behind me!
Yes! I managed to pierce it right through the stomach! I wanted to go for the neck again, but it was too high up and it might have predicted I would repeat myself. So, now, the paralysis is a slower working venom, so it'll take a bit to take effect... but seeing how damaged he is already, he'll be unable to move in no time! I've essentially now won the fight.
However, because of all of this, it let out a deafening roar... whoa, wait, is he activating a skill? Which one, then?
Eh...? Wait, nothing happened. What, was it a dud then? I don't think the skill failed though... so what's going on?
"You... you killed them... all?!" And now, there was a large hint of panic in his voice as he stood back. What, does he mean his underlings, the goblins and hob-goblins?
"Yeah," I replied, not breaking eye contact.
Its breathing got heavy, groaning and finally rushing towards me. Huh, after all this, it's gotten pretty slow. I can dodge this with ease, even without gust's help! So, when it attempts to hit me, I just dash out of the way, slicing it around the abdomen with my sword.
It attempts to go for a wide slash, but I just crouch down out of the way.
"Earth Magic: Sink Ground!" Right when he finishes his chant, the flooring beneath my left leg sunk down to the point where almost my thigh, but he wasn't done, "Earth Magic: Earth Trap!"
And with that, the hole that my leg was filled back up with dirt, no, actually, it went even higher than before. And, if that wasn't enough, I couldn't move my leg out.
Huh, this is pretty bad. I mean, I don't think he knows what I am, so there's the chance he won't hit any of my vitals, but even so, I'd be losing a lot of health...
But, I'm treating this as if I don't have the Body Manipulation skill. I just simply make my leg a bit smaller, and step right out the moment he's about to slice me in two. Gust can take care of that, I just use it and get right out of the way.
Oh, it seems it used its last bit of strength on that last attack! It sticks the blade of his sword into the ground, falling onto its knees. After a few more seconds, it falls face-first onto the ground.
Yeah! I did it! It was pretty difficult, but I managed to pull through! But, really, if I wasn't a slime, I'd be dead multiple times, huh? Guess being like this isn't so bad... sometimes.
Wait a minute, that spell he used wasn't on his status before! Did he seriously come up with that on the fly? Well... yeah, I guess I did too, but that's pretty impressive for a goblin.
Hm? Oh, the other three are here now too... oh, walking into this scenario would be pretty weird, huh? There's a goblin lord almost dead on the floor, Ai just watching away from it all, and me, just standing there in front of the goblin lord. Almost sounds like some weird setup for a joke.
And it's silent... this is pretty awkward.
"Whoa! Is that the goblin lord?!" Ashin broke the silence, practically yelling in my face.
"... yeah."
"Did you two seriously beat it on your own?"
Huh... should I claim I did it by myself since I did, or just go along with what Ashin is assuming? Damn it...
"No, he did it on his own," Ai frowned as she spoke. Geez, thanks for saving me, Ai! I didn't know what to do there.
But all that met Ai's statement was utter silence... guess we're back to this again. Okay, let's uh... say something.
"Would it be alright if I took the body?" Okay, so, my plan is to pretend that I have some sort of storage skill, which I technically do! But, I'll instead use Gluttony on them by using Body Manipulation to make it look like a box forms around the Goblin Lord. I'm such a genius! Hah-hah-hah!
"Huh...? Oh, uh... yeah, sure. You killed it after all." Okay, let's ignore the fact Ashin looks totally freaked out by me!
So, I go through with my former plan! And it works, of course! Hey, why is everyone looking at me like that...? Even Ai looks slightly confused... wait, never mind, no she doesn't, she looks just the same as always.
Okay... this is a bit uncomfortable. Everyone is staring at me...
"So... let's get out of this place!"
