'A Letter'

Chapter II

The aftermath of the attack was devastating, the kingdom was reduced to rubble and blood of my people was the only thing left. Though it was a pity to know that half of the kingdom was lost, but the lost love ones hit harder. Six months passed and through the treaty we were able to rebuild Erebos and get the population rising again. Though Zora Faven was able to help us in the time of need, but they were the reason we´re struggling till this day.

Though the royal family sent their condolences and tried to redeem their actions every way they can, it will never be overturn that they feed my people and I to the blood-seeking wolves.

Dear King Adams,

The events followed two nights ago were unexpected. Those two nights ago in our kingdom of Zora Faven there was an attempted assassination, we were forced to shut down all ports and routes in and out of the kingdom, so whoever tried to assassinate a noble wouldn't escape. Zora Faven will always take the responsibility of what happened that day, the people we could've saved. Deep Condolences, King of Dark.

The Kingdom of Zora Faven

__

Few nights passed after receiving the letter and news arrived to my kingdom that Queen Eleanor was plagued with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, it's a type of obstructive lung disease characterized by long-term breathing problems and poor airflow. The symptoms of the illness include shortness of breath and cough with sputum production. It's a progressive disease, meaning it'll worsens over time. Eventually activities, such as walking or getting dressed, become difficult.

The letter that addressed Queen Eleanor's sickness had another detail. The detail was that Queen Eleanor requested my presence at the kingdom and i was to show up at next dawn. I was hesitant to go, but i knew if i didn't go, what Queen Eleanor would have to say would haunt me till my own grave, so i addressed my guard, Anissa Monik, to ready me a carriage.

It was now dawn and i arrived at the Palace, The Zora Faven Guards escorted me to the queen's chamber so that i may speak to her one final time. Once in her room i had time to observe her and the condition she was in was…..Horrendous.

Eleanor's vibrant mocha colored skin was now a sickly ghost white, her face was sunken in making her eyeballs appear to be popping out of its sockets, her pink plump lips were heavily cracked. Her hair was thinning and losing it's lively brown color, her nails short and brittle. Queen Eleanor was in severe condition.

One of the guards then gently tapped the queen on the shoulder most likely to indicate my presences. The queen then slowly peeled her eyes open and her lifeless emerald orbs gazed into mine. She looked like a living corpse.

The Queen then beckoned me to come towards her and hold out my hand, which i did. She then grasped my hand and mumbled, "I am so sorry, Hurricane. I am truly sorry for what happen all those," The Queen paused to catch her breath and stifled a cough, "Those nights ago. It was all of my fault." Her grasp on my hand tightened making me look into her lifeless orbs, their held grief and sorrow.

'She's begging for my forgiveness?' I thought, 'Why? She's the only noble in this family left that i truly care about, she'll always have my forgiveness.'

"You'll always have my forgiveness, My Queen, always." I told her as my vision started to blur while i grasped her hand tighter praying that she would leave because she didn't deserve this type of fate, but i guess only the gods from above call on the good to soon.

I watched her eyes slowly drain from life, as this happened there was a knock at the spruce door, the door slowly opened revealing a young girl with the appearance similar to Queen Eleanor.

'The Daughter', I thought, as i observed her carefully as she made her way to her dying mother.

The young princess grasped her mother's hand and held it to her face, tears running down the girls' face, "Mom -" The girl sobbed, "Please don't leave me!" She cried as she dropped to her mother, The princess head on her mom's stomach.

Queen Eleanor then picked up her dominant hand and slowly trailed it down her daughter's hair, "No need to cry, My daughter, you know I'll be watching over you." The Queen whispered, tears cascading down her sunken cheeks.

"Mom…I love you!" The young princess, Krystal, Sobbed into her mother's chest as she took her last breath. Queen Eleanor's hand went limp in my hands and her emerald orbs were now lifeless, the Queen was now dead.
