After hanging up the call, Ling rushed downstairs to welcome her childhood best friend Daisy.
Daisy was Ling's childhood best friend. She belonged to a middle class family. Daisy's father was normal citizen who used to work hard to feed his family.
Since Daisy was Ling's only close friend, Yutang had sponsored her. All her educational expenses were paid by him.
