"Just left hook him Paige!" I yelled from the sidelines.
A "hmmph" sounded from Ryder as Paige left hooked him, catching the side of his face and sending him to the ground.
"Tap," Ryder wailed as he held the side of his face.
"I'm sorry are you okay babe?" Paige asked as she helped him up.
"Ice is in the freezer," Liam called from a few meters away.
Paige looked back and nodded.
"Hannah and Sage. You're up," I called said.
"I wanted to train with you though," Hannah whined.
"Okay, Sage and Sarah then."
"Yay!" Hannah and Sage squealed in unison.
"I didn't want to punch you," Sage informed Hannah as she passed her.
"I didn't want to punch you either."
"Wow I feel loved," I laughed.
Hannah just laughed at me.
Ryder walked back to us with ice on the side of his face. "Tell me why you can't just heal me so I can go back to training?" Ryder complained.
"Carla doesn't have time to be running around healing everyone in the middle of a fight, your luck we're letting you get ice since you won't have it on the field," Kathy explained as she walked behind me. She gently brushed my shoulders with her hand, "Do you want some water Carla?"
I turned my head and nodded, "Yes please, Thank you so much."
"I'll help you get everyone water," Liam called as he jogged after her.
I crossed my arms and looked at Sage and Sarah squaring.
"Sage you know your opponent's weaknesses, same to you Sarah," I called out, "Put all your power into a punch, I'll fix your wounds if you're seriously hurt."
Sage and Sarah were slowly walking in circles, never turning their backs on one another. Sarah threw a punch, and then Sage. Neither of them landed.
"Don't worry about hurting her," Hannah called out. I think she was talking to both of them.
Sage landed a nice punch right to Sarah's sternum.
"Go for the face Sage," Carter yelled.
Sarah landed a right hook to the side of her sister's face and then shot her fist right for her throat.
Sage fell back coughing. It took a few seconds but she got back up. In a few seconds, Sage plowed Sarah over and started wailing her fists into Sarah's face.
"Tap, Tap, Tap," Sarah screamed through tears.
We ran over as Sage scrambled off her sister and looked over at me doe eyed. I gave her a fist bump and then went over to Sarah. She was breathing roughly and coughing up blood.
"Carter get some ice," I called as I examined Sarah's condition. She had a crushed esophagus which explained the coughing blood. I healed her throat and sternum, which was cracked. I left her bruises though. They needed to learn how to fight through the pain.
Sage used her pain to fight harder, she used the anger of being knocked down to disable her opponent. That's why I gave her a fist bump. It was exactly what we were trying to train.
"Sage I want you to try that on Kathy when you fight her later," I told her.
She nodded. I knew Kathy and Madelyn trained with that move and Kathy would either lay her out or Sage would figure out how to get her down in a different way. Kathy would more than likely use that move first though.
"Is it our turn?" Hannah eagerly asked as I helped Sarah walk to the sidelines.
"Yeah it's our turn," I answered. I set Sarah down gently in the grass and took my red jacket off. I tied the bottom of my gray tanktop to avoid Hannah grabbing clothing as a way to control the situation. I pulled my hair up into a tight bun and then tucked my necklace. Eclipse stood up from where he was sitting and stood still as he saw me walk onto the field.
I gave him a soothing smile and then looked over at Hannah. She was genuinely smiling at me.
"I won't punch you," I told her.
Hannah nodded.
"Go all out," I told her.
"Okay," she answered. She seemed to get calmer when I told her I wouldn't hit her.
She swung and I ducked.
And again, she swung and I ducked.
She started getting frustrated.
She swung again.
And again.
Both times she missed.
"Breathe and concentrate Hannah."
She let out a huff of anger and swung again.
She missed and I could tell she was close to crying.
I didn't duck the next time. She landed a blow on the side of my face. Her landing a punch seemed to make her more confident, she threw another and I dodged it.
Hannah threw her arms down and took a step back. I knew what she was about to do. She ran towards me, in a swift motion I crouched down and knocked my shoulder into her ankles. When I immediately stood up, Hannah flew over my shoulder and landed on the ground belly up. The wind was knocked out of her.
I applied some pressure to her chest to help her breathe.
"Don't step before you punch," I told her as I lifted her to help her stand. She breathed heavily.
"Again," she urged.
I nodded and took stance.
She swung, stepping into it. I dodged and looked at her the same way you'd look at a toddler if you just told them not to scream and they screamed.
She didn't step the next time and landed a nice punch square in my nose. After that it was punch after punch. At least six landed until I caught her fist, forced it behind her and pinned her to the ground.
"Tap or I break your arm," I told her.
"Tap," she said and then I got off her. She gave me a fist bump.
I could feel the bruises on my face disappearing.
"Go for the throat for your first punch," I told her, "Then the nose. After that start wailing on them until they tap out."
She nodded. Her face slightly sank, "You purposely let me hit you didnt you?"
I nodded, "If I didn't then you would've given up."
She smiled, "I'll train harder."
I nodded at her as we started walking to the sidelines.
Carter and Liam walked onto the field. Kathy diverted my attention by handing me a canteen of cold water.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome," Kathy chirped happily, "Who am I squaring with?"
"Tap!" Liam's blood curdling scream shot my head in their direction immediately. I could see from there that his arm was horribly broken and twisted. Both of their faces were mangled and bruised already.
I ran towards them. "Man you two are vicious," I commented as I healed the both of them. Again I left the bruises so they deal with the pain.
"I want to square with you next," Liam said as he looked at me.
"No," Carter intensely growled as he positioned himself above Liam again.
"I'll be fine Carter," I squeaked from behind him as I gently put my hand on his arm to soothe him. He almost instantly calmed.
"Madelyn and Kathy are next, then Axel and Nathan. If you want to square after that then I'm okay with it," I told Liam.
"No, he'll destroy you," Carter declared as he turned to me.
"Carter trust me, I'll be okay," I said in a soothing voice. He didn't believe me but it didn't matter. I trusted Liam not to kill me.
--
Kathy pinned Madelyn and broke her collarbone on the fall to the ground.
--
Nathan knocked Axel out cold in the first few punches.
--
Liam looked over at me and smiled, "You ready shortie?"
I nodded, "Don't you dare hold back."
"That goes for you too shortie," Liam laughed.
"Okay," I smiled.
We walked onto the field. I could feel Carter's eyes staring intensely at what was going on infront of him.
We got in position and started squaring.
Liam threw a punch. I grabbed his fist and absorbed the pressure as I took a step towards him. He used his left hand and punched me in my ribcage over and over. I knew he had broken ribs. He slung his fist and landed it on my face. I forced his arm straight and used it to kick my legs up and kick him in the face. I did a super cool flip in the process. He threw another punch and I ducked. He grabbed my arm and slung me like a ragdoll a few feet away. I immediately got up and trudged towards him.
He threw a punch and I grabbed his wrist. I kicked my legs up and wrapped my right leg around his neck. I threw my entire bodyweight backwards which made him fall backwards. I jumped off before he hit the floor. I climbed on top of him and landed a strong punch in the throat.
"Tap," he heaved.
I rolled off of him and I lightly touched my lip, which was dripping blood. Liam stood up. I sat up and watched as Carter trudged over. He walked right up to Liam and, with all the force in his body, punched Liam as hard as possible. Liam stumbled backwards and fell flat on his back.
"You promised you wouldn't hit her," He angrily boomed at Liam's almost lifeless body.
