"Capt'n, the 15th and the 14th division have captured the last stronghold before the city," His head general said as she entered to room, "Shall we move the rest of the divisions up to commence the siege?"
"Leave one in each of our bases, we will have ten of them to hold the siege, I will move up with Omega as well," He said moving to the map on his table, "We will set up siege cannons outside of the city, at 7 kilometers away, they should be safe from any counter fire from the Noxians," He said then looked at the map, "We will need to move up our ammunition, have a message sent to mainland, we need to move more rounds for the cannons if we want to win the war."
"I'll have that done, Capt'n," She said as she moved to leave the tent.
"Wait, we need to make sure we close off the roads to the city, have the divisions sent up camps around the city and intercept any food or materials coming into the city, block off the main roads and have patrols to surveil the smaller paths."
"Very well, Capt'n," She said turning around and leaving the tent. Hugo grabbed his bottle and took a drink. He sighed. I'm going home soon.
"Capt'n, how are you doing?"
"Hey Undritch, we are going to start the siege on the main city."
"Noxus is a strong city, it will last ages if the siege isn't done well."
"I have planned it out," He said, "Did you get anything from the spies?"
"They have 5,000 soldiers in the city with 200 wall guards, one of our spies contaminated the bread storage with rats," Undritch laughed, "They don't have much food aside from that, for the public at least, the king might have some but none of them got in."
"That is fine, we don't care about that, he won't share them, well he shouldn't," Omega chuckled, "When we are done, I'll name you the governor of Noxus, as a reward."
"Thank you Capt'n, I hope I've been useful."
"You have," They turned when they heard Omega's voice, "I thought you would betray us but clearly you haven't done that yet."
"Oye, why is there a yet? I wanted to get revenge on this fucking empire and they will damn fucking fall at our hands! I am no traitor, well, for you."
"We will be leaving soon with the men, we will set up the siege around the city and we will be staying in one of the camps that control the passing roads," Hugo said as he grabbed a bag, "Gather your things, and remember to have your gun loaded."
"I don't need to care about that," Omega said, "I don't use guns."
"Where are the troops?"
"We are going out to scout it."
"Can't we have someone to do that for us?"
"I decided to do it myself," Hugo said, "It isn't that bad, you will be safe, me and Omega are pretty powerful."
"I better hope so," He said as they left the camp. Omega walked in front of them, slowly gaining his demonborn form. Hugo walked with his rifle pointing to the side and down. Undritch walked with his revolver in his hand. The sun was dawning and the path was still dark. Omega walked off the path and entered the forest. Undritch walked over and tapped his shoulder.
"What are we doing?"
"Shh," Omega said as he pointed back to the path, "People are coming," They hid in the forest next to the path. They heard two people talking.
"They will never accept it," One said before another voice snapped back.
"We have no choice, the king decided to offer this and if we don't give it to them we will be banished or executed."
"I never should have joined the fucking army, I should have stayed in my fucking family's business."
"Stop bitching, you will get us detected, they might kill us instead of listen to us."
"Okay," Omega turned to Hugo and Undritch and nodded. He climbed the tree making a small noise and Hugo and Undritch checked their guns.
"What was that?"
"Put your gun down, we are passive, we don't want to attack them."
"What is this offer?" Omega said landing behind them, they jumped back, "Come on, you know who I am."
"Well," Hugo said as Undritch and him walked out in front of them, "I suppose that you had something from your leader, for who?"
"The leader of Bilgewater," One of the soldiers stammered as he held out a scroll, "He-here, it, it is," Undritch walked forward and grabbed it. He removed the seal and opened it. He read it quickly, then handed it to Hugo.
"Some sort of challenge to settle the war, I don't know what."
"Give it to me," He said as he unrolled the scroll, "A challenge to settle the war? Why am I not surprised? Tell your leader that we will need to talk about it, face to face."
"But where?"
"You see the field near you city?"
"Yes, yes I see, what will we do there?"
"Set up a table, tell him to met there tonight after dusk, bring only two generals, I will be there with these two."
"O-okay."
"If he fails to do so, he knows what is coming for him," Hugo said as Omega moved out of the way, "Now scram," The two soldiers turned tail and ran from them. The three began laughing.
"A challenge? If I don't like it, I just start the siege."
"Let's go back, the place is clear."
Undritch pointed in the distance as they saw a small torch lit in the distance. Hugo was sitting at the table. Omega was in his human form and on the left side of the table, Undritch was on the right side of the table. They waited until the three men reached the table. The two generals looked nearly identical, the leader moved to the table and sat down. He glared at Hugo, then at Undritch and at Omega. Hugo smirked before tossing the scroll towards him, he picked it up and opened it.
"I see you accepted to meet me."
"I have nothing to lose, Noxian trash," He explained, "My troops have sent up siege weapons around your final city. So what is this challenge?"
"The Bilgewater Scourge will fall at the hand of my blade, one on one, with no aid."
"A duel? A sword duel?" Hugo laughed, "What is put on the line?"
"You kill me, you get my kingdom and my generals will step down and so no opposition, you die, I get your empire," He said, "What do you say?"
"No," Hugo said bluntly, "You regain the land you lost, not all of my empire. If you want, we can go the old fashion way and I'll set up my siege and crush any resistance in a few months."
"I'll accept that," He sighed, "We will have the duel in an arena, should we use the one in Noxus?"
"I don't trust you as much as you would like," Hugo said, "I will go there with Omega, have the people you want, but if you try to kill me, I will show you the fury of Bilgewater, you don't want to see that, you and your people would all die."
"Whatever you say, tomorrow at midday, we shall meet, for a duel of blades," He smiled as he got up, "Get ready to fell defeat at the hand of Noxus, the same hand that killed your fiance, a Noxian hand, and clearly you still haven't found a way to recover." Hugo stared him down as the Noxians left them. He slammed his hand through the table. He got up and they headed towards the camp that was set up near the city. Omega and Undritch looked at each other and followed him. He said nothing as they walked back. The camp was silent, the guards opened the gates and Hugo went into his tent, he didn't say a thing. Undritch went to his own tent and Omega followed Hugo. He was sitting on his bed. He burst into laughter. Omega looked at him weirdly.
"What the fuck is up with you?"
"He clearly doesn't know that I married, he probably still thinks that I haven't recovered from the fucking hideous actions of his father," He said, "Tomorrow, we will go to the Noxian city and show them what we are made of."
"Here have my blade," He said as his bone arm appeared.
"What blade?" He said as he saw Omega rip off a bone from his arm, "Are you sure?"
"Why not? I don't need it," He said as it formed into a blade, "At least it won't break, are you sure he doesn't have something planned?"
"If he does, he know what will happen," Hugo said, "Maybe I can use my demonborn to increase my power, what do you think?"
"You are the one fighting, in your place, I would have turned down the offer," Omega said shaking his head, "Last time I took a duel against someone I didn't know, I lost my left arm, but he probably isn't a god but he is confident, don't give him any way to get back into the fight, but don't play with him too long, you are no god, a well placed him will kill you."
"I know, he is very cocky, enough to put all the pressure onto himself, for no reason, he could have had one of his men do it for him, but instead he wants to do it himself, now that I think of it, I think he has something planned," He said as he took a drink, "They are surrounded and they will run out of food for sure, so it can't be outside intervention but maybe his blade won't be your traditional blade."
"I would assume that," Omega said as he leaned against the table, "Are you prepared for it?"
"Before we left, I practiced with Cassidy, so I haven't lost my hand," He yawned, "Maybe we should stop worrying and go to bed."
"Well, I hope you don't fail, if you ever want, the siege cannons are ready, we can scrap the plan and do it the old fashion way."
"I'll see tomorrow."
