Chapter 3 - Queen Asheviere

* * * * *

As Queen Asheviere ensconced on her throne, she scowled at the Royal Guard who just informed her of a news she did not wish to hear.

"My Queen, in the great forest to the southwest, where the Elves reside, one of our scouts have managed to penetrate through to their headquarters. It seems that the Great Elder Mage, Delfador, is hidden with the Elves."

The beautiful features of Asheviere contoured into a grimace when she heard the name of that man.

"Summon the Orcs! No one in Wesnoth is allowed to threaten my rule, especially that old man! Bring me his head and I will reward the one who does with as much gold as he wants. If he were to form an alliance with not only the Elves, but the Dwarves--my rule will be threatened."

"Will the Dwarves even bother to help them? They are known as a bunch who only protect their caves and territories. They have one of the least interaction with the other races."

Asheviere scowled at the guard.

"Do not underestimate the persuasive power of that old man. This kingdom of Wesnoth was established by our great ancestor, Prince Haldric, as he survived through the Green Isle and his final confrontation with the Lich-Lord Jevyan. Only Humans have the rights to rule the Kingdom of Wesnoth! Not the Elves, not the Dwarves nor the Orcs!"

The guard quickly cupped his hand and knelt down for forgiveness.

Asheviere's expression softened for a moment before she continued.

"How is the progress with the Scepter Of Fire?"

"Yes! Your daughter is currently on a mission to retrieve it!"

"Good, with the Scepter of Fire, the entire Wesnoth will be under my control!"

Queen Asheviere smiled.

Everything was coming into place together as she planned, except that old man. That old man was the only hindrance to her plans.

"Now, tell the orcs to organize three legions and burn that forest. I want that old man, dead!"

"Yes my Queen!"
