Justin, who had never cared for sports one whit in his entire life, was on the edge of his seat during the 100 m backstroke finals. He had wanted to congratulate Lily the day before but it was impossible to get anywhere near her with the crowds. It wasn't until later that night when she got permission from her coach to see her family and hear their reactions that he was able to hug her tightly and tell her what a good job she did. Lily looked so alive with an absolutely thrilled expression on her face that her excitement was contagious.
"Isn't this exciting?" Emily asked, also on the edge of her seat. "I can't believe your cousin is so talented!"
"She is pretty great at swimming," Justin admitted. He didn't understand her sport but that didn't stop him from being proud of her.
