Emily's head was reeling the entire flight back to Montana. She had no idea how to process what Justin had told her. She tried to reconcile what she knew with the new information presented.
Justin had bought his own car with cash before he went to away to college. He didn't work during the school year, claiming he made enough from freelance jobs over the summer. He always paid for everything when they went out to eat and bought her nice gifts even before they were dating. He bought Sam lobster and Alexa an entire menu's worth of macaroni dishes without breaking a sweat. He went to a very fancy restaurant with his friends to celebrate finishing the game they collaborated on.
He had to have money coming from somewhere. But ten employees?!
"Remember that woman who helped you with your internship applications? She's my second in command and in charge of the interns we have every semester," Justin had said.
